Awesome thread. I've got some dope notes now to use in the game... especially the macros!

One thing I've found, dunno if it's all that great but I've found it: as opposed to using your name when you want to heal yourself (Generally /healdamage <Yourname>, one can use /healdamage self , which does the same thing. I have macroed /healdamage self to SHIFT+F1, which has become incredibly helpful during combat.

Also, if you're in the heat of a battle, and want to heal someone in your group, and you type in or press the appropriate command to /healdamage <Player>, yet you get the message "Cannot find valid medicine," yet, you have 100 stimpacks lined up in inventory, you're probably too far away from the player, and just need to move in a little closer and try again. This just gets aggravating if you don't realize it.

Also, I've noticed, dunno if this is game FACT, or just something that needs to be fixed, if you're in a cave (e.g. - Cave on Naboo With 50 million Narglatches), you can't use traps. They simply don't work, and deteriorate in their entirety from your battle queueueueue (don't know how to spell either =).

A couple little things I've noticed. Once again, this is a DOPE thread. Everyone keep adding to it. Even if your tip seems trivial, someone might not know it.

And, maybe there's a way to organize this thread? Messageboard controllers, dunno if this is possible, maybe even make it its own section. That'd be dope. Anywho, thanks again.

Ok,

Ive read a fair few hints on finding a group/friend by them sending you the waypoint in an e-mail. Far to much work to be done as there is a simpler way.

Ask a group member there waypoint, and when they reply -1234 3456 simply type

/waypoint -1234 3456 and the waypoint will be created in you datapad and be displayed instantly.

I have a question about equipping armor. Is their a way to make a macro that will equip/unequip my armor? Rather then pull up my inventory and double click 7 things I would rather just click a macro assigned to a F-Key. I couldn't figure out an equip command though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also all the flourishes are premade macros on the control-a screen (I must of typed flourish a billion times before I realized this)

When doing a destroy mission, hit the main target once or twice, then select /peace and wait. This brings the mobs out in ones and twos, and because their spawn is delayed by a few seconds, they won't immediately be aggro. This allows you to take out the beasties one by one at your leisure, withouta crowdbeating you as you attack.Once they're dead, hit the main target oncemore and repeat.

This method is a lot less stressful, and crucial when dealing with anything above an "even match" con. It often also means more mobs will spawn in total, giving you more exp for less work.

Secondly, if you're doing a faction quest with those vicious red mobs you couldn't possibly kill on your own, try taking a mission very close to town. When the mob attacks you, run for the city. You'll almost certainly run accross other players who'll help you out, and you should have fired enough over-the-shoulder shots that you'll get exp once they kill it Then head back to the target and shoot in peace.

Thirdly, when you're taking delivery missions, callup your world map and hold the cursor over other cities to get their relative distance from you. This lets you pick two missions going to the same city, netting you more bang for your travel ticket buck. Also, missions to the same location will pay about the same; aftera while, you should be able to tell where a delivery is going just by the price.

Finally, if you're a marksman, the best thing you can do for yourself is get the best possible weapon you can find. Spare no expense.Direct trades with crafters are almost always better than the bazaar. Look for low speed, low HAM costs for special attacks, and high damage min/max. This seems really obvious, but itmakes *such* a difference, andI know I didn't appreciate just how much until recently.

Inresponse to Treborlrtad's question:
There is a way to assign armor, weapons, crafting tools, etc (Almost any inventory item) to an F-Key. Just click and drag the item from your inventory up to your toolbar, and it'll make a shortcut.

Tip for Armor:

When using armor, you should ALWAYS unequip it when you are trying to get healed - armor slows down regeneration rates by about 50%, depending on the quality. Also - when using armor, you take MORE damage from hits, unless the armor has protection, in which case you take a very, VERY worthwhile amount less - For example, I normally take 50health damage from Creature X in melee. I equip my armor, which reduces my Strength by 200. Now I'll take 60 health damage per hit from Creature X in melee. However, my armor gives me 50% total Melee (Not sure the exact name of melee resistance) resistance. Now I take 30 damage. So make sure you equip appropriate armor for the appropriate situation (Bone Armor is good versus blasters, but it hurts you against melee, for example). Good luck to all of you with this - I suggest putting Armor onto F-Keys so you can change it quickly!

Sorry for not saying this on my previous post, but here goes:

When I said my Strength is reduced by 200, adding 10 health damage per hit to me, that is assuming that you have 1000 Strength (20% reduction to Strength adds 20% to damage)

Meiok thanks for the response on my armor question. That is exactly why I wanted to make a hot key to take it on and off. Bone armor for example is wondeful versus blasters but not so good hand to hand. What I was hoping was to make a macro that would put all of my armor on at once rather then have to use up and click 7 F-Keys. The macro would go something like: [equip command] helmet; [equip command] boots; etc etc and I would only have to use 1 F-key slot. Then a second macro would reverse the process and take it all off. Anyone have anything that does this or will I have to use all those F-key slots (which works just fine!)

does any 1 know an easy way for a marksman\artisan to get general crafting points on a low budjet?

Low budget? yes. Fast? no, not really.

Pick up some scout. Every time you make a trap or a camp you seem to earn some general crafting XP. And all of this is done with materials you are also then able to harvest off your kills.

These tips are great! I've only been playing for about 2 weeks now (or however long it's been live.) And I knew most of them as a former player of EQ there's alot of similarity but there are a few that have been "Wow cool" to Me.
Dragonov, I suggest also adding scout to your skills if possible. It will allow you to craft items like camps, etc from bone/hide. Also you could run short delivery missions (usually around 50-75 credits) but generally they are within 200-400 meters of start/destinations. This will allow you to make small ammounts of quick safe cash. Do this for a time then go hunt, when resting from a hunt, craft and deliver. Soon you'll have enough skills and items and credits to make that death star you've been saving up for.

So, does anyone know how to assign multiple inventory items to a single F-key yet? Maybe a dev could help us out here?

Did you know?

Each mineral has a different quality - for example, some Fiberplast I got on Tattooine was able to get to higher stats (49% durability on my fiberplast panels as opposed to 34%).

Installations are not worth the maintanence! You can get several thousand minerals - more than enough to reproduce that structure 100x over - without paying 1 credit of maintanence - just let it BURN. Factories on the other hand... PAY THE MAINTANENCE! They cost WAAAAY too much to just let burn.

Getting the Trapping ability up is really easy. First, create tons of Glow-whatever (Increases susceptability to Ranged Attacks on Target, requires Trapping I, which can be gained thru using Lecepanine Darts), then find a really weak creature that does almost no damage to you. Queueueueueueue (I actually found out that it's really spelled queue) 30 or 40 of them. Wait. Finish off the creature. This will get you a good 1200-2000 experience right there. For even more experience, get into a nice hunting party and find a high level creature. Every time a trap hits, you'll get ~150 xp, and your allies who are pounding on it with their blasters will do more damage to it.

Get some friends! Friends make the game so much more fun. For example, a friend of mine (Don't want him to be spammed, so I won't name the Scoundrel... hehe) oftentimes groups with me to do missions. The nice thing about having friends is that, instead of shouting 'LFG' and 'Someone let me join your group plz u r ub3r L334', you can just send a message to your friends about starting up a missions or hunting party and get it rolling right away. Oh, and if you don't have anyone on your friends' list, type /friends - the bottom line's funny... 'You have no friends'

Get the Scout ability AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Why let hundreds of creatures' corpses go to waste? Harvest them all and sell the hides/bones on the Bazaar. You can easily get about 7.5cr a Hide/Bone, and you harvest about 8 per creature (really depends on level, I've had as low as 3, as high as 28)

Make macros for useful commands (Did I post this earlier... I don't remember) like /harvest bone, /harvest hide, /healdamage, /tendwound [wound], etc. Makes the game a lot easier.

Assign Macros to buttons! Extremely useful! Go into the Keymap menu under Controls and click on 'Macros' (?) and assign the most used ones to buttons. Who said you could only have 24 macros usable at the same time?

Hope these tips help all you n00bs... cuz if u r'nt l334, ur a n00b! L334 C|23\/\/ ALL THE WAY
