Don't want to be negative, but the rebel armor is not good at all. I have to admit I like the Imperial shock trooper armor. What happened to the Endor rebel oufit, or the rebel outfit from the corvette Vader took over in Ep 4, what about Hoth rebel armor? Samurai's in SWG what is this? All the rebel armor looks like mortal kombat characters.

Looks promising so far.

But im disturbed that the Rebel armor has NO reference in cannon at all. The only armor suits you have that have any reference to the movies it eh Scout trooper and Storm Trooper armor.

You have basically created4 whole suits of armor that has NO relevance to the Movies or even the books.

The very fact that your breaking from the Movies this far is extremely disturbing. This game is becomming to lookless and less like Star Wars.

What Rebel armor did you see in any of the movies?

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."

I just want to say that with the last patch, the notes concerning the next patch, and today's Friday Feature--I'm really PUMPED about SWG's future! I'm very excited to see these changes occur and am extremely glad that we're moving forward with the much needed in-game adjustments and fixes.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Its about damn time we had a Friday Feature that exceeds all expectations, although with the past weeks my expectations have been a tad lowered. But this is good news, great news in fact, and screenies too, good stuff.

I like it. It looks as if the devs took our "make it rock - paper - scissors, instead of rock - bigger rock - biggest rock" pleas very seriously. Depending on how this is implemented, it could be truly awesome. I absolutely LOVE the Rebel Assault Armor, also. Assuming there are a few palette choices, anyway -- I really want a suit of that stuff in hunter green or pitch black.

None of the rebels in the Star Wars movies wore suits of heavy armor, but it's ludicrous to assume thatthe rebels neverfielded heavily armoredforces. Nobody would go willingly intoserious combat wearing the pants and light dress uniforms that the rebels in ANH's opening sequence wore; they were security guards on a ship intended to look like a diplomat's vessel. Their helmets were the only part of the outfit which could remotely be classed as "armor", and that's pushing it. I think the 'invented' designs look suitably high tech/"Star Warsy"™, and the rebel insignia on the chestplate is a nice touch.

TH, or someone, I'm having a hard time trying to understand this new armor system. Do I understand this correctly?

These modes/armor classes are just AR and AP changed. With the differences now being:

1) AR3 is no longer "better" than AR1. Instead

AR3 is weak to AP3, ok versus AP2, and strong versus AP1
AR2 is weak to AP2, ok versus AP1 and 3
AR1 is weak to AP1, ok versus AP2, and strong versus AP3

2) We can change the AP mode on our weapons on the fly, and hand to hand, instead of being AP0, simply ignores AR and does damage based on whatever resistance the armor has regardless of class.

Am I correct here or just totally off

I got a question that may seem weak but still,
are there going to be any back packs along with the armor to go with this new look?

Watch the Movies again and ask me that.

While the Rebel armor doesnt look as rugged as the Imps armor, the Rebels DID havedistictive looking armor (or uniform)sets that could be seen in the Movies.

While the Rebs never had a armor that was like the Imps ST armor they had thier own distinctive look, which the armor sets developed for the CU looks NOTHING like.

Is this Starwars or not?

If it is, lets see something from Starwars and not from something pulled out of thin air.

Will their be a use for not wearing armor on the battle field?

There is actually no precedent for Rebel Armor in the Canon and very very little in the EU. We did quite a bit of research and none of the EU rebel armor was anywhere near as cool as the Imperial armor so we worked with LucasArts to get the new armor approved.

This new Rebel Armor is canon now

Great Job Devs!!! I've had ST armor for a year and a half, but it is worthless in a fight. I look forward to being able to use it in combat again.
