do u know the reward for gaping spiders?
About 6800 I think.
Dont bother with better Gaping Spiders such as Scout or Queen. Just "Gaping Spider".
They give close to 4200xp each and are very easy to kill with grenades.
Just make sure you arent afraid of poison though.
Hm sorry mates, I need some help here. I was doing Gaping Spiders Missions and Wild Lairs and found myself Intimidated all the time! What are you doing not to get intimidated? Intimidation means, you loos, Attack Speed, and do less damage (30% less or down to 30%?).
Here are the stats:
http://www.swgcreatures.com/detail.asp?creatureID=108
So one thing is sure. Gaping Spider are nice. Poison is ignorable, but Intimidation sucks.
I see three reasons why Gaping Spiders dont work for you:
a) You are grinding with an unlicensed weapon in hand. DONT DO IT! It kills your defenses and give you no bonus to anything.
b) You are grinding on Hunters or better spiders than "Gaping Spiders". A gaping spider mission is 6800-7000c in Science Outpost and thats it.
I am a Master Pistoleer. I have no defenses vs intimidate... no melee mitigration and much weaker defenses than your average TKM... and I have never gotten seriously wounded by Gaping Spiders ever... I have been poisoned... quite a bit... but it never got me under 80-90% health in the worst-case scenario. I go through 6 lairs in 1h 30min allowing me to cap twice and exchange between caps in a single 3:30 buff session.
I have no bonuses from commando... no grenadier belt... nothing... and I use weak cheap scrap-metal grenades that do 750 max damage (1050 with pup) (but are way cheaper).
My girlfriend is a TKM/Master Doctor. She grinds on theese Gaping Spiders just as good as I do... Never any problems with Intimidate.
Huurton Stalkers... they have 20% blast resistance. This means that they will take +20% longer to kill and +20% more grenades. They also have more HAM than a Gaping spider. The average shuttle trip from Dantoine - Aurilia and back is +16 minutes.
Maybe good with Commando that have grenades that can do 1500-2500 damage... but for c12 no way...

1. I was waring kinetic ubese agains gaping spiders - and died couple of times
2. Quankers are ok but only 3.5 XP ea and I don't think you get more than 10 out.
3. So back to the old TKA favorite - Hurton Stalkers! Cant hurt you when in armor and buffed, you get at least 15 out of the lair, they go down nice with 30 nades - and give more than 5K XP total ea. when grouped in solo group! Than just take off helmet and macro loop Unarmed Hit 2(3 if you have it) till the lair is done
I just posted this in another thread.
Cool! I'll start grinding out & selling crates of grenades on the bazaar on Dath. Scylla server. Look for them later this week. I'm down to < 1 mil. and need cash to finance these silly quests. I'm thinking crates of 5 for 5k. Sound reasonable?
So you go to MO to group than back to SO to XP? Sure, I'll do that too as soon as I get my Y wing with Hyperspace in couple of weeks
And the guy above who wants to sell crates (of 25 nades?) for 5K - I hope you're on Bloodfin!!! I buy them at 20K a crate, seen them as much as twice that much and hear of other servers going 50K a crate...

True that about spiders - TKAs. Embarasses to admit but I died couple of time being to heal self (and am a Master Doc lol) with spaders... So what works best for TKA/TKM - quankers?
Also, do you guys stand right in the midle of the lair - or what do you do when tossing nades?
Well I am TKM and i can kill pretty much everything that is thrown at me, except for high level mobs, sometimes i need some help with that. But the easiest thing to kill with grenades would be Huurtons (Stalkers or Huntresses) or Baz Nitches. Quenkers are also easier. It is best to kill the smaller creatures, as when they swarm you they get a lot further into the blast radius. And yes you do stand in the middle of the lair.
