Thread: Using C-12 Grenades for FS XP - A Guide UPDATED FOR CU!!
If you are worried about money run some Janta or Mokk Shaman missions. They are 27k per mission. Run maybe 2 of these for every crate of grenades that you use and you will end up making a profit. But only do this if you are worried about money, as it becomes time consuming.

Q: Do you know how much a crate of C12s costs?
A: Roughly 50-60k on my server if you can find any - so that's 2k+ per grenade (25 a crate).
Q: Do you know how much time using grenades takes?
A: Not exactly as I've never been a number cruncher but as a Master of an Elite melee profession I can take down a sharnaff lair and all it's contents in 3 or 4 mins. If I chose to double up my Combat Experience using grenades/melee combo it will take at least 10. i.e. take out the travel/mission terminal times & I am actually slowing down my exp earning. But don't forget the hours I spent looking for the damn things
Q: Do you know how unfair it is that people are gaining exp so fast using grenades?
A: A Novice Entertainer can use C12s, just go buy some.
Q: Do you know how much of an unfair advantage Commandos have?
A: Go master Commando and report back
I suppose what I'm trying to say is YES grenades can be a great boost to your combat exp and offer a variation in the way you grind our FS exp but LEAVE EM ALONE they are inconvenient enough already to prevent them becoming a game breaker.
So if I get this right...:
I'm 0,4,4,2 TKA (Novice flencer and Master Doctor). Equip CDEF pistol or Republic Blaster and thow away a crate of C12 nades (human) at REGULAR quankers or Gaping Spiders?! Do I finish them off with Spin2 so I cap Unarmed and Combat?
Will my Combat XP still cap at 100K (being 0,4,4,2 TKA - I guess I will test it soon but hoping someone knows)?

1. Forget about Quenkers. Gaping Spiders is the way to go without competition
2. I am not 100%, but I think you will loose much of your TKA defenses if you have a pistol in hand, so just ignore the "equip no-license weapon" tip for now.
3. You use grenades to they drop. Forget about Unarmed for now. 300.000 combat xp = 100.000 fs xp, 900.000 unarmed xp = 30.000 fs xp. As you see, unarmed is not worth it when you grind with c12.

Yes. I think so. Can you reach 0,4,4,4 it should cap with 300k however if I am not mistaken.

About 6800 I think.
Dont bother with better Gaping Spiders such as Scout or Queen. Just "Gaping Spider".
They give close to 4200xp each and are very easy to kill with grenades.
Just make sure you arent afraid of poison though.
Hm sorry mates, I need some help here. I was doing Gaping Spiders Missions and Wild Lairs and found myself Intimidated all the time! What are you doing not to get intimidated? Intimidation means, you loos, Attack Speed, and do less damage (30% less or down to 30%?).

So one thing is sure. Gaping Spider are nice. Poison is ignorable, but Intimidation sucks.
There is not really that much that you can do about this. I am a TKM without any extra bonuses against Intimidate. Being TKM i dont get intimidated as much as, say, a Master Marksman, because I have some defences against it. So what i am basically saying is either get a profession with defence against Intimidate, get some defence against intimidate skill tapes, or dont kill things that intimidate you. I choose the last
