SonG, there is nothing in the original post about the current Phase 1 quest being locked out. clicky! For several people this quest cannot be started, as none of the NPCs will talk to you. Tickets have been written, /bugs have been sent, but this issue seems to be ignored. Although back in Phase 3, after much ranting by the public, CSRs were tasked with camping at the village to allow people access to the missions. Why is this not an option this Phase? Why is it that individuals are being told that they must wait for the next Phase 1 to come around? this hardly seems fair to the paying public. There are several reasons why floating around as rumors that I won't go into. But I believe that we deserve an official explination other than "sorry for the inconvienence. there is nothing we can do at this time."

Thanks for letting me know, I'll pass it on.

The 2nd character slot was a reward for becoming FS originally. Why they changed it, I have no idea. Why not take away the 2nd character slot from the people who got it for doing nothing under the old system? Why not make them have to earn it again? Otherwise, those that didn't make it are being punished. As I said, if I never become a Jedi, that's fine. But I'm FS now and wondering why I have to go through the FS grind when I didn't want to be in the first place? It's all about being forced into it. Used to be that people complained about too many Jedi's. Now it's like SOE wants everyone to become a Jedi so they can get the 2nd character slot. That's gonna create more Jedi's just from that with no way to surrender it. I'd be happy to play a "companion" to a Jedi, much like a Chewbacca, Han Solo, C3PO role, lol. But there is no way for us to do that and be rewarded for keeping the Jedi population down.

And as I said, I'd pay for the 2nd character slot, big deal. I just don't want this game to have to become a full-time JOB just to have fun and get ahead, especially when missions pay 2k to 4k but doc/musician buffs cost 15k. They might have nerfed the exploiters ability to make big cash quick with the group pay exploit, but they didn't nerf what people are still charging for goods and services, hehe.

Bah nothing will change and you should all know it. /shrug

Great ideas, but I'm afriad this line sums it all up for me.

I've been a smuggler for half a year now, even knowing that the smuggler revamp had been postponed for a year and a half already when I started. I have a depressing feeling that this is what's going to become of these issues, too.

All I wanted was to have two characters on one server. One to combat with, one to craft with. Now that I find out that they arbitrarily made that impossible, I feel like the game is a waste. I was really excited about working toward a goal that isn't even possible. Since I don't want a Jedi, now what do I do?

Just imagine when the combat revamp comes out. I have a distinct feeling that it will make the game more challenging, however, I fear that it will make each battle so much slower/more difficult, that the daunting task of grinding exp will become all but impossible. The numbers really do need to be addressed.

I really hope someone important will read this and at least suggest that they work on it. I know several people that are not even trying to become Jedi, not because it's too hard, but because it's NO FUN to do! I agree with them. It's not supposed to be easy, but this is a game. Game = fun in most people's minds. Not easy doesn't have to mean not fun.

Too bad new useless loot drops take precidence over tackling fundamental game play issues.

I wish for a change. I will not hold my breath.

I TOTALLY agree with what some others have said in this thread about the XP ->FSXP conversion rates is insane.... i mean 30:1???? It should be more like 10:1 or more ideally as one said 5:1.... Son, please bring this issue forth to the devs, please.... It would be much easier on the ppl doing the grind and actually feel that they have accomplished something, instead of just getiing a small bit of FSXP, they would get more FSXP and gladly continuing to grind, just because they feel they accomplished something...

View it like this, You become FS, Then you grind, Grind, Grind <You get the idea>. So now you keep your main going the path of Jedi <If that's what you choose to do>. You get the unlock, Now only to regrind either what you had previously been or choose some new professions. More grind, Keep you paying for the game.

Sorry to be pessimistic about it but I'm only being asked to do what I have done since launch of the game. Kills things or craftto get experience to master a profession that I'm seeking. Now only to advance in FS skills and ata ludicrousratio of experience.

Yes, I have done many other things in the game besides grind, Trust me. Did I have fun doing those other things? Sure, I did.

However, To ask me to do the same things I've done all along, Just pains me. Hell, Wish they had this way of becoming Jediimplemented at the time of launch. Is it fair that people who have just started playing the game a few months or so before this way of becoming Jedi was implemented and becoming FS so quickly?

I don't believe it is. With all theexperience I've reapedsince launch that I'm expected to get now, I could haveeasily filled all the necessary boxes.

No, I'm not saying I should be an instant Jedi, I think it should have been left to variables. What you have accomplished in the game, A mixture of all facets of the game. Afterall, As others have eluded to, People have lives, Jobs, Etc.

To think they said this would be quest based is just laughable.

Personally, I liked the idea way back when no one had a clue how to unlock.

"Now to accomplish this I would need to effectively master Armorsmith 34.5 TIMES!! And since a MAS caps at 120,000 crafting XP, if I didn't stay in the village to cap then convert I would need to go to the village round trip 1031 times! "

Now this statement if true just irks me, how is the current system better then the old one ?? if that person would have to basicly do the work of mastering AS 34 times and thats just to unlock the crafting section..... it was less work in the old system plus you got to try all the professions out.

I think i would prefer to just master all the professions, atleast you would have some variety etc.

I dont think doing time restricted quests (phases) just so i can have the privalidge of converting massive amounts of XP to FS XP is the funnest way to do it.

I am getting to where i dont have the slightest interest in going hunting with friends, after i spend hours and hours just slaughtering things so i can get the best possible XP to convert. Yes, i could just not go out and grind XP but hunting with friendsdoesnt givenear the XP to convert and it would take way way longer.

I personally would have thought working on getting to be a jedi would have included long intricate quests/tasks, not my getting buffed and heading to endor to slaughter the same exact creatures hour after hour after hour, then rinse and repeat 50000 times.

No joke. This is actually how the current system is. Its not just the fact that you have to do all that work. Its the fact that you have to have the amount of resources required to do the work. Is there actually anyone who has acyually mastered crafting mastery from scratch?

You just said the magic word. The issue is "content." Content is labor intensive. You have to pay someone to think it up. The theme parks are a great example of the content dilemma. It just takes too much effort to come up with extended quests. Admit it folks, how many were just a little bit disappointed at delivering a bird cage at the end of the Rebel theme park? How many of us have done other theme park missions wondering just how many escorts and patrols are left before I finish this part so I can at least meet a new mission giver? Does anyone doubt that whoever got the job of designing them was simply running out of ideas at the end? The village was actually better, since at least there is a story that tracks from one phase to the next and the missions are somewhat integrated. However, it was not nearly enough content to achieve the goal of limiting entry to Jedi. Ithad to bepaddedand that's the role of the grind. The grind is the gate, not the missions. I would "grind" Jedi for a year happily if I was going from mission to mission with some sort of story development. You don't even need to make up a whole new bunch of content. Say the village was 17 three week phases, with tough missions gating each one. I would play (and pay) each month for that whole year, merrily playing the rest of the game between missions. Forget grinding XP. Finish the mission, get the box, keep your template. No unintended "grind arounds," the wait cannot be circumvented by any creative templating. You gotta do your time. Makes Padawan the ultimate veteran reward. Not a new idea, I know.

I agree. it could take ages gaining skills by doing missions but at least its more interesting and story orientated.

Personally I enjoyed working for the chef in Jabbas themepark.
