Thread: The 30:1 fix *EXPLAINED*

well u see.....well over half of the days that i grind at OP, i can never find a group. And more often than not, i happen to get a crappy group that doesnt know what "pull" means. Which, blended together on average, thats about 600k exp per day.
and no. I dont get 1 mill in 5 hours. Lets do the math on that one.
220,050,000 / 1,000,000 = 220 days.
hrmm. And thats assuming that i get 1mil exp each and every 7 days of every week for the next 220 days...not gonna happen. My way equals itself out.
I don't know when you play, but I can always find a decent grp on Dant at the MO. One time I got up at 5am, insomnia, I thought I would never find a grp. Was in one in less than 10 minutes! I can't imagine there being a worse time than 5am. Also in about 3 to 4 hours, depending on my grp, I can cap rifles, carbines and pistols plus 300k+ in combat xp. Now thats 3,000,300 xp which converts to about 100k fs xp. Since you need 1,225,000 fs xp to complete a tree, that means you will have to have about 13 fully capped hunts of about 3 hrs each. That means about 39hrs per tree. Total hrs for all six trees is 234hrs or 78 fully capped(except for combat xp)hunts. Even a slacker doing 3 hunts a week could grind the trees in 6 months. This is still a tough grind, but not as bad as you first depicted.
It's funny when people suggest ways to make the path to Jedi longer and harder they always suggest the part of the grind they've already finished. FS grinders are saying "make it harder to get glowy", and padawans are saying "make the village grind longer and harder".. full temp Jedi seem tomostlyjust want to nerf everybody, while the rest of the game just want to nerf full temp Jedi.
What a curious littlemerry-go-round we all choose to live in.
Yes...it was really too easy to get glowy.
Well, to be honest, since you can get the Glow in one day... wouldn't you say that's too easy?

Wasn't my point at all, but thanks for playing. Too easy? People will always grind their way through the shortest path from point A to point B. You can do it in one day I guess,if you play the entire day. Dunno about you, I don't have that kind of time to spend in a day on a game.
I think no matter what the devsdo it will be "too easy". Or "too hard". There is rarely any middle ground, rarely anyone who thinks it's fine the way it is --my point was that a person's opinion on whether it is "too easy" or "too hard" seems very much to depend on whether or not they still have it yetto do.
There seems to be real propensity towards trying to screw the next generation on these boards ..not to get too carried away here asto why that is, but it's quite disturbing nonetheless.
I doubt it would even take an entire day.
I've heard as little as 4 hours and I can believe it.
The POI related badges are, let's face it, pretty easy to get within a couple of hours. That leaves the content badges and a profession badge.
Well, 4 of the 5 content badges can be fulfilled by the noob Mayor's Badges in Mos Eisley and done in an hour or so.
With the Warren belng a total lag-fest lately and all but undoable, and the Corvette in the same boat due to the level of the SBDs, I don't have a problem with the Mayor's Badges counting.
But if the Dev's want to try and keep the number of Jedi to some number under 100% of the player base, making the village grind longer is pretty much the only way to do that left unless you want to totally revamp the Jedi system. That's already been done once, and a lot of people complained all over the place about how SOE was focusing on Jedi in two publishes to the detriment of other professions. I doubt another Jedi revamp is gonna go over any better.

oh ya and i forgot. I will beat school from 7:30 to 3:20 every day. Plus homework.
So i am STILL overestimating how much exp i will get. If summer continues, that formula would be valid.
Dude, i'm doing my GCSEs and still got a full temp Jedi and good reports, its all about time managment

600k xp in 5 hours. Hmm, yeah, I think maybe you are doing something wrong. I can max my xp in like two hours out of the MO. Groups are also easy to find there.
Here is the trick, try to find a group with a dedicated tank and sit back with a weak weapon and spawn an AoE attack or something. Hell, it's what I do (ok, so my PFT ain't weak) and I make hellatious amounts of XP once I get rolling.
I just want to point out one thing that I have noticed from reading many posts about grinding/gaining xp etc..
It actually does seem like Valcyn is a one off as far as servers go, for starters the MO is dead, always, every time I have gone there since I game back to the game 3 months ago there's never anyone there. The location that the original poster on this thread mentioned (Oasis Paradise on Tatooine) along with other locations on Tatooine are actually -the- places to go on Valcyn for xp groups, although those locations aren't always that busy either. And the groups produced from these locations are often newbie groups (it is after all the main newbie starter planet now). The fact of the matter is -good- grouping is fairly spaced out on this server. A lot of PA's will form groups out of their own player cities, or a nearby city(on the same planet)if theirs only produces up to CL 50 missions. It's often very much a case of who you know as to how often you get groups or group invites.
Anyways, my point being don't just assume because one server has a location that is always busy that it's the same on another server because it would appear this isn't always the case ![]()
For the original poster: It might be worth your while on Valcyn to wonder around some of the player cities, try and pick up some groups there for more experienced groups, and make some friends that way. Find out who the regular xp grinders are and then go back to those same people the next time your looking for a group I actually tend to find that a lot easier and less frustrating then dealing with noob pick-up groups.

That line just drips with irony.
Hehe, you mispelled "impotent", though. ![]()
Bounty Hunter 1:1

I may be mistaken, but listen to this...
Lets do the math...
175,000 + 250,000 + 350,000 + 450000 = 1,225,000 exp for one complete branch.
1,225,000 x 6 = 7,350,000FS exp to complete the fs grind.
7,350,000 x 30 = 220,050,000 standard exp.
Ponder that for a moment. 220 MILLION standard exp needed to reach jedi with the new 30:1 ratio.
So, After phase 4 is complete, all we Valcyners will gogrind in Oasis Paradise 24/7. I do it for about...oh, 5 hours a day and get maybe 600k, depending on if I happen to get a good group. And 600k on a good day, mind you.
Listen closely here...say i play for 5 hours each and every day and get exactly600k exp every day. Ok?
220,050,000 / 600,000
366 3/4 days.
366.
THREE-HUNDRED AND SIXTEY-SIX DAYS. Each and every one, sitting in this chair killing dewbacks.
I do not call that difficult. I call that INSANELY BORING.
At that rate, by the time i get Jedi Initiate i will be STARTING MY JUNIOR YEAR, and my sophomore year hasnt even STARTED yet.
You cannot tell me to stop complaining now. This is insane.
I demand a fix.
And, for the record, why not boost the needed Jedi exp? That way, many people will be jedi, but it would take dedicated time and effort to become powerful at all.

Im in the Valcyn Galaxy, i am Zarcanet Balaboa.

Combat 3:1
*
Weapon (all types) 30:1
*
Squad Leader 90:1
Looking at these, you can find faster ways to become a Jedi.
First be a Bounty Hunter, you get a 1:1 ratio for EXP, and while you perform these missions you get combat and weapon experience. From my calculations, you double the amount of experience for FS because Combat experience will be the same as weapon experience in conversion. And since that is only 1/2 of the FS experience that you need, I think you could grind that down in about 90 days. Hunting animals is another great way to earn alot of experience quickly.

Entertainment Healing 10:1
*
Surveying 10:1
*
Medical 10:1
*
Trapping 25:1
Lets look at this - medical 10:1 ratio, scouting 8:1 ratio. If you are hunting animals, you can skin hides and earn scouting experience, and using bacca shot, or jab, or any other healing ability during combat, you earn medical experience. So in the 90 days you are earning experience for those fighting trees, you will also probably make a significant portion of experience in heightened senses experience as well. You might not get the whole amount, but probably 60-70 per cent of it.
Force-sensitive Crafting Experience (Crafting Mastery):
*
Bio-Engineer Crafting 4:1
*
All Other Crafting 5:1
*
General Crafting 8:1
*
Structure Crafting 35:1
Here is the one that frightens me. I am not too familar with crafting. I can see this tree taking probably 3-4 months extra, because this isn't a part of what I do as I play. I might start doing medical crafting, just so I can stockpile as much experience as I can before I become FS.
All in all, it doesn't seem to me that it will last longer than 4-6 months of grinding a couple of hours a day.
Acutally looking at it, my idea of a space ranger might do better - with rifle mastery, scouting, creature handling, medical, and medical crafting - I might get a lot more experience quickly that way. Remember every downed animal can mean more than one type of experience which will speed up the process.
