Thread: The 30:1 fix *EXPLAINED*

Um... I can bank nearly 4mil weapons/combat xp per day in about 2-3 hours grinding.... Template: TKM/MPikes/Medic 4XXX

Use the fact that without training novice marksman you get 200k per ranged weapon to bank as well...I think some of you need to take a look at your templates 600k xp per day as the initiator of this thread suggests is absurdly low... and the 366 days to get jedi makes sense given he is in no way using a template which can get him there any faster.

Here is the one that frightens me. I am not too familar with crafting. I can see this tree taking probably 3-4 months extra, because this isn't a part of what I do as I play. I might start doing medical crafting, just so I can stockpile as much experience as I can before I become FS.

All in all, it doesn't seem to me that it will last longer than 4-6 months of grinding a couple of hours a day.

Acutally looking at it, my idea of a space ranger might do better - with rifle mastery, scouting, creature handling, medical, and medical crafting - I might get a lot more experience quickly that way. Remember every downed animal can mean more than one type of experience which will speed up the process.

Crafting might SEEM like the way to go, but there are a couple of problems.

  1. Crafting XP comes in at a horrifically slow rate compared to combat-related XP which is why in general the ratios for crafting are lower. Architect for example is a big exception to that but it converts at 35:1. Even so, combat-related XP is faster in my experience.

  2. The caps for Crafting XP are far lower than combat-related xp, capping at 80-120k or thereabouts.

  3. You would need carloads of resources to do that crafting with. MILLIONS of resources.

All this makes a combat route to Jedi faster than crafting despite the better conversion rate.

Every night, in maybe 2 hours, I get 1.2 million carbine xp, 1.2 million pistol xp, maybe 400k rifle xp, 75k scouting xp, 900k medical xp, and 300-400k combat xp.

About half of what it used to be, but still, not bad. I am running with some rather powerfull jedi friends, only problem I ever have, is I tend to pull aggro, gotta tone back the DPS, or I get dropped.

I've almost unlocked, only thing is, I dont want to unlock, there just happen to be 6 FS trees that are usefull to me, and getting them just happens to unlock =/

I've always been one step away from jehti, but I just have too much fun on the other side, ganking them. I dont want to face the many versions of myself

LOL this thread is funny

Obbsessive-Compulsives puffing their chests declaring themselves to be more OC than the others :-)

hehe anyone who is willing to park in the same spot for 100-200 days in a game and kill the same thing over and over and over and over, would likley get classified as having OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)

hehe and its NOT hard, its just tedious, and like the orginal poster said, tedious does NOT equal difficulty. The challenge in getting Jedi is how many sores on your a$$ you are willing to develop sitting in front of a computer.

Orginal system for unlocking Jedi shoulda stayed in effect, even with the holocrons its was better than this mess.

I do not call that difficult. I call that INSANELY BORING.

At that rate, by the time i get Jedi Initiate i will be STARTING MY JUNIOR YEAR, and my sophomore year hasnt even STARTED yet.

You cannot tell me to stop complaining now. This is insane.

I demand a fix.

Don't worry - your high school education is more important than becoming a Jedi in a hurry. I'm surprised that you aren't complaining that it takes "eighteen whole weeks" to complete the six phases needed to unlock.

Personally, I think that becoming a Jedi should take long enough to weed out the instant gratification crowd.

well u see.....well over half of the days that i grind at OP, i can never find a group. And more often than not, i happen to get a crappy group that doesnt know what "pull" means. Which, blended together on average, thats about 600k exp per day.

and no. I dont get 1 mill in 5 hours. Lets do the math on that one.

220,050,000 / 1,000,000 = 220 days.

hrmm. And thats assuming that i get 1mil exp each and every 7 days of every week for the next 220 days...not gonna happen. My way equals itself out.

i gotta agree with ya there when i grind on dant on ahazi most are lvl 1 crafter newbies who dont know how to get combat exp =/

Tbh, i completely agree with JDawg40, in every way, 366 days, 330 days, whatever, now i for one dont like people who constantly moan about things, but i have to have a moan about this, its a fricken joke, as soon as i heard about the new XP conversion rate and worked out how much XP it would take (220 mil or so) then and there i completely gave up the will and the want to be a Jedi, 220 mil, just think about it, i mean i became FS when i was lvl 36 and except for getting Combat Prowess, i have done nothing on the FS front since then, i have been concentrating on getting my CL to 80, so the aspect of now needing 220 million non-FS XP scares the sh*t outta me, plus to say i dont play everyday, and when i do i may play for 5 hours or so,sometimesless (some of us have lives and jobs) so for me judging by how much i play it will take me probally about 2 years maybe longerto become a Jedi, that means everytime i come on to grind full on XP........

Now that to me, sounds like a load of poo, at the mo, i still really want to become a Jedi, but with that conversion rate, not only does it seem impossible on how long it might take me, but i dont want to have to gind that much XP, and by the time i have, i have a feelin that i wont want to play SWG anymore......

So fine, im asking along with many others change the combat XP conversion back to 3:1, but by the way SOE seem to work, i know that they won't

Also, to all those people who want toand most likely will "flame" me for posting this, fine, go ahead, does'nt bother me in anyway, im just glad that i got my opinion heard and my point across.

I understand your frustration, while I doubt it's going to happen.

The Devs stated before the village thing even started that they expected the village grind to be even longer than hologrinding and that it would take maybe 6 months to a year to get Jedi. And that casual gamers would naturally rake longer than the powergamer.

If you can only get there in 220 days, then as far as they're concerned it's probably working as intended.

I suspect we'd have either gotten the group xp back, or the conversion rate back. We DID get the group xp rolled back to pre-Publish 22 rates, and it's really unlikely they'll give us both of those. We can't have everything, or everyone will be Jedi and the Devs don't want that, and neither would we.

The village grind is supposed to discourage the dilletante from getting Jedi. It seems like the change is having the desired effect.

The Devs may want everyone ABLE to become Jedi, and that's OK. They certainly don't want everyone to BE Jedi, since that would essentially kill off all the other professions, and then where would we be? The only real alternative they could do is a hard cap on Jedi numbers and nobody wants that.

Well the point is that getting jedi is not hard, its insanely boring.

Well tell me this...assume everyone who plays this game gets to play 1-2 hours a day in the LEAST. Assume EVERYONE just started the grind. Assume they have a life.

Even so, if they grind for 330 days, 366, whatever, by the time they are ABLE to get jedi, they would be bored to hell with SWG and grinding every day. Not to mention the possibility that they'd get bored before they can finish.

No one who is new to the village will get jedi for another 7-8 months....and THAT, is a fact, by the terms that i said up top.

I still cannot believe this change...keep this at the top of the page everyone!
