Thread: Focus Thread: Phase 3 Combat Quest
My group waited four hours, only to have***** and***** from Radiant steal it from us. Yah, another two hours of waiting. But ******failed, so they'll probably be back to steal it again.
This quest definitely brings out the very worst in people.

I agree with every bug posted. The 3 bases would be possible if not for the bug. Also the bug impacts other players who are travelling on Dathomir and get hit by turrets only to die 1000m away.
Open tickets on this over and over again until it gets fixed. I asked for a refund of my months money because of this bug. Everybody ask for a refund.
Please?

Hey everyone, it has been brought to my attention that everyone is having problems with this quest for some of the following reasons. Please add any more reasons you can think of or discuss ones that I have listed here. Thanks.
1. Commander walks slow and won't go up hills. Making any base besides the 3 closest impossible.
Let us offer the command a ride in a multi-player vehicle.
I dont see them allowing us to pack him in the trunk of a vehicle like we'd do to a proper captive becasue of the attacking sith. But speed him up already or do away w the poison.
2. Turrets are doing 300damage a sec from up to 1000-4000m away. You engage a turret, get smacked and try to run... you get hit over 1000m away then when you die and clone... you still get hit from turret all the way at the outpost through hills and walls etc....
There is a work-around for this. My friend and I had a Jedi with us. He would Force run in, hit the turret hard, and Force run out (like doing strafing runs on the vette). However, I cannot imagine doing this alone.
There is More than one "work araound but the point is that we shouldnt NEED them in the first place. I dont mind asking my Jedi Guildies for help but being reliant on them to complete a mission that was doable by two people pre-cu is rediculous. Not only amI eating up my time but the time of my friends that are helping.
3. 2 hour wait inbetween bases (group1 does mission, you wait 2 hours, group 3 steals your commander... wait 2 hours...)
This wouldn't be so bad if people it were feasible to use all the bases. However, I can't possibly fathom walking this guy back 10,000 meters. It took two friends and me 3 hours to escort this guy back 4,800 meters. Again, let us offer the command a ride in a multi-player vehicle.
Completely agree here while a shorter walk is preferable I'd walk him all over dath if I at least knew he had a chance of making it.
I think what gets me the most (and this is in no way directed at the person I quoted) is the people posting here like th erest of us who are having problems with this mission are some how lesser players because we cant get this done. The mission is buggy at best the difference between finishing and not finishing seems to be weather it bugs in your favor or not.Ive been playing this game long enough to know how to develope a strategy before starting a mission. My guild while not huge is comprised mostly of people who have played for over a year and are fairly familiar with the mecahnincs of the game. Last night I had a Master LS/DEF friend take out our turets at the second closest base to village. My other friend got the shileds down and his 5 sith killed andI ran in and got the CMDR. We got about 500 meters from base when he stopped then suddenly warped all the way back to hjis base. went back and got him only to make it another 900 meters when he just decided he was done walking stood there for another 10-15minutes or so and died, we were on a flat surface!!
On papaer this sounds like a fun mission attack a base capture a commander and make your way to village while fighting off Sith....but once it comes time to DO its a whole other story. Im a patient person andI enjoy a challenge but this is just assanine. I dont want a free ride but please if I fail this mission time and time again Id prefer it be becauseI did something wrong and not just luck of the draw.
This is my last unlock and I'd really like to get it done.
There is a simple solution to the commander walking issue. It's too simple for the developers to ever think of it on their own.
A WP a fixed distance from each base(say 2000m) is established where custody is turned over to one of Sargillo's lieutenants who then takes custody of the commander and the quest ends. Everyone with the questhas to take the commander the same distance.
Forcing the player to escort the commander further if he's assigned one of the farthest bases is fundamentally unfair and creats the ninja base cracking situation that has happened. Again, the risk/reward needs to be GREATER for someone who takes one of the farthest missions, but it does not, creating this situation.
Furthermore, the commander automatically assumes the terrain negotiation ability of the quest holder who has captured him, and runs, not walks, to keep up with the quest holder.
I strongly suspect that the stupidity of the commander walking is related to the nerf of pet speed that took place in the CU, which creates a situation where a dewback moves faster than a gurreck or peko peko.
Heard alot about this so though. ok im bored ill go look. Bad idea. got within 200 meters thinking i use the los to my advantage and gets hit with 550 x 10 though a hill. Cloned gets shot again in the cloning center.
It would be nice if some retard at soe can test these quests before releasing them in a sorry state, but i guess they are to busy keeping an eye on there own wallets instead of fixing anything in this game.
Fire the guy / girl who came up with this BS. Its just a waste of time.
So? Devs? Can you acknowledge us?

I'm on intrepid and this is the best thread I have read on this subject.
I have spent a total of about 10 to 12 hours getting codes killing sith going to bases....and so on and so far all of my time has been a complete waste of time.... thank you very much
very good idea release us from this quest so we can do one that works
