Too long? You're joking, right? Jedi are supposed to be rare and powerful. A Jedi is not like any other profession dude, you should't be able to master it in a week. So you got all your XP done due to double XP? Congratulations. Would you like a cookie? There has to be a time limit on this kind of thing. If you could be a Jedi in a week, it'd be the other professions that become rare. It's not supposed to be quick or easy dude, so get over it and wait like the rest of us.

Amen, I agree 100%

I personally don't think it takes too long at all. Granted, I myself am grinding on FS xp (my second time from dropping 18 of 24 blocks and currently have 14 of 24 complete). I've grinded plenty of professions that I find intriguing. Done the Rryatt trail 5 times the past weekend. I was the only one to get the group thru lvl 4 of the trail without dying. Gotta love area KD Anyways, i just had a guy get his first FS mission. He hasn't been in the game all that long. He probably has no idea what experiment does in the artisan/crafting professions, yet, he is starting his path to Jedi. Yes, i see something wrong with this. For them not to dabble in each prof blows my mind. I try to get at least a working knowledge of the profs out there so when someone asks me a question, i am able to answer them honestly. I've solo'd more high lvl creatures than i care to, but all the noobs are asking how i do it. I tell them thru experience. Its true, i know what works on what and what doesn't. Do i get mad when a noob asks me to give him 30k of my credits? yes, that's why i duel, then DB them. Then the next wekk, they are a lvl 80 jedi coming to stick a lightstick up my....well, you know. The path to Jedi is way too short in my opinion. I think there should be no village, no hologrind. You unlock at a randon time, unknown to anyone but the system. Badges may help, it may not. Mastering profs may help, but then again?

At least make the noobs know a basic understanding of the game. I also had a guy who had at least 8 master badges ask me how i got a mission on Dant for 15k from the MO mission terminal. Does he not know what Smugglers can do to terminals? KNOW THE GAME AND WHAT EACH PROF DOES BEFORE YOU GET YOUR FRIGGIN' LIGHTSTICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do have a heart...I hear you, I mean I work hard for my money too...but it's hard for me to be sympathetic to someone who is complaining about it taking too long to be a Jedi when I have had and played this game for almost 2 years and have seen EVERYTHING I loved about this game go bye-bye. I understand you are working hard to become a Jedi..and I applaud you for that choice and effort...how do YOU feel about Musicians in this game? Do you feel it's right that every reason for them to exist in this game is being dropped in one way or another? How about Bio Engineers...how do you feel that for 2 publishes now they have been broken in Tissues..a main source of income/use for them in game? How do you feel about the fact that a Crafter CANNOT be "Just" a Crafter and live if they try to travel somewhere beyond the Starter Planet City? Are you asking for SOE to "fix" other things..or is your ONLY concern Jedi taking too long? For the record...ask folks who have played the game since release..they'll tell you what long and hard is....grinding out 5 Professions or 15 Professions..or ALL the Professions, since it varied for each one. If I went now and bought the game NEW and created a character I could get credit toward Jedi in a NEWBIE Badge Quest..rather than logging in my Character and having to go through the Warrens or Corvette. Look around in other forums...see what is broken and what is asked to be fixed...and look at what HAS been fixed for Jedi. But do THAT before you ask me to have a heart...because I hear you and I feel you, but I KNOW that Jedi is easier than it was..while other Professions are falling by the wayside and Jedis abound.

Way too long...? Never!!!!

Because of this easy way to become a jedi, it isnt too long to grind. U dont have to grind!!! U make XP everyday and u can change it to FS XP and sooner or later every guy, who is at the village will become a jedi :-( and thats not good.

Because of this way the game are detroyed and every 3rd guy is now a jedi and the best is, every new jedi make is title on and wear the jedi robe everytime and that's not good for the game. I think people i have talked about should be givena TEF and every guy should be able to kill those jedis.

Because every noob is asking "how do i become a jedi?" and dont play the other professions which are all good as they are.

So keep jedis rare and the game makes more fun for all.

umm.. keep jedi rare? jedi are not rare... they are anything but rare. SOE has already blown that way out of the water.

Now is the grind hard? no way... the grind is easy. BUT the wait is the pain in the butt. I think many people feel it is too long... simply cause they end up waiting on phase shifts. Which to me the whole phase shift is stupid. I have all the xp I will ever need. I now have to wait 12 weeks for the skills I want. I have probably been playing this game longer than you.... i have 'experienced' other professions well and good enough. Started playing a couple weeks after release so I think i got all the game content.

This "easy" way to become jedi as you put it... is no easier than the original holo-grind game destroying method that others did. I have noticed though.. it is a lot of people that already have there their jedi that are coming in and saying thet path needs to be longer and harder. Well of course it does now that you have yours..... fact of the matter is... pretty much everyone has complained about this being too long... until they get their jedi then all of sudden... it needs to be longer. And I for one would not really mind if it was longer... IF they made the quests much more involved... i mean really.. the village shifts.. I do a quest for 1 to 3 days... then wait..... i don't think as many people would complain if the quest took longer and were much more involved. I just really kind of get aggravated when people that already have jedi say it should be longer and harder. Although there was nothing out of them about that before they got there's... only after.

anyhow.. sorry if I offend or anything.. this is not meant to be a flame or anything of that nature... just expressing my opinion....

i was not upset with you in the first place.. so there is nothing for you to apologize for. You are entitled to an opinion as well and you are more than welcome to argue against mine =) Like you say,, in the end we both more or less agree. the game is being pushed towards combat only and all the crafters and ents and non combat classes are slowly being driven out. That is just my opinin. and it is sad I must say. I enjoy socialisms of the game and meeting people and just sitting in cantina BS'ing for hours. But that type of environment is going to be a thing of the past in my opinion. I hope it never happens.. but I think it will. Anyhow.. like I said no need to apologize... and if you feel you must then i will accept it.. but not needed. =)

Oops.. this was in response to nanatree's prior post directed at me =) fotgot to quote it lol sorry

If anything post-CU it's too quick. That it is possible to generate the kinds of XPthat most templates are now capable ofis a huge change (to all that didn't pre-CU nade grind or the older Jedi that used Holos). You will get it eventually and then you will spend a fair amount of time just working on your Paddy template. These are the nature of the beast ... for Jedi and MMO's in general.

Play the game. Jedi is a small almost insignificant portion of a much larger game

I don't understand why people are complaining about the cost of playing (in real money terms) for getting to Jedi. If your sole aim is to be a Jedi but can't afford an MMORPG why not just make a one off payment for one of the Jedi Knight or KOTOR games and play Jedi to your heart's content without any monthly payments?

It seems like, just as it is in the game, people want everything right now and for free. If you can't afford something then find something you can. For wannabe Jedi there are plenty of alternatives out there.

I agree with the others that the path to Jedi is far too easy these days and gets easier with every publish. I miss the days when you'd be travelling in the wilderness and catch that glimpse of a lightsaber just before they saw you and ran off into the distance and that would be all you saw for the next month or more. Having said that I'm also grinding towards Jedi myself as unfortunately that's all the developers seem to care about these days with virtually every publish since 9 being more about the Jedi (good or bad) at the expense of the majority of other professions and badly needed bug fixes. If the option of a non-Jedi server came up I'd jump on it in a flash.

no, im not just complaining about the jedi, i know it isnt fair for the other professions as well, but, i am not complaining in this thread for them because it is a thread about becoming a jedi, i played a bit right after release, so i know how to used to be, i am not selfish, im just staying on point.....

I'm staying on topic too...I may have rambled some in my post..but it IS about how I think the Path to Jedi is too easy and short (especially when compaired to what it used to be). Your Sig says it all...You WANT to be a Jedi but it costs too much money to play for too long...What happens once you get Jedi? Do you let the account sit dormant? Do you sell the account to someone else who wants an "Instant" Jedi? I've played and paid for almost 2 years..and wish to continue the game since there is so much out there I haven't done, but it may not happen that way because I don't want to have to be a Jedi to do it.
