http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/06/news_6128654.htmlWell don't worry, there are many solution to that problem. You can do what that article is talking about or you can do my home recipe.Call yourself - Yes just pick up and act like someone has phoned you. The best places are on the bus or even in the movies. You can talk about anything.Tell you fake Callers that you wish you could but your girlfriend has plans. - Well talking to yourself tell them that your busy today cuase your fake girl friend wants to spend time with you.Get a day planner- Put in a ton of fake events you need to go to so during your fake calls you can flip though it and 'key' in some time to have them visit you.Once you mastered this come back and I'll give you few more tips but remember only you can be your own best friend
what? you still here. Dont you have your fantastic rich life to attend to? lmao @ people like you.
Also, i think you should apologize for your comment, its unfounded and makes you look like a fool that state things that you could not possible know.
Also, might wanna look up what a forum is used for; aye, that is right to exchange opinions. Not to bash the people that dont think like you do, but to gain experience and insight, in which you miserably fail i might add.

3) Many players want to be Jedi, so why place a time barrier, that serve no real purpose other then to limit the number of Jedi? Let's be realistic, how many jedi do you see on any given day, so it doesn't limit the number of Jedi?
Its not hard to see upwards of 20 or more jedi on my server. All you need to do is visit Theed Starport or Coronet Starport - and now Mos Eisley starport - and you can start counting them up. I once saw 15+ jedi standing together in front of Theed Starport dueling each other.
Given the nature of the Star Wars universe, I should be able to go my entire career as a non-Jedi and never see another one. They are as rare as hen's teeth.
In SWG they are probably the biggest profession populationwise. BH is probably a bit behind them, but most Jedi I have talked to have a BH alt.
Many players do want to be Jedi. Some because they are movie fans, but I think most because they love one on one dueling, and thus being a Jedi or a BH gives them an excellent PvP challenge to face. Sure, lots are there just because to their 12yr old peabrains "its kewl lolzor", but I think most are there for the PvP. The PvPers would go with any class that was decent for PvP, but the fact that Jedi is 1.5x as power makes it an absolute must if you are a PvP type player - and many people live for this style of game and will go ANY extreme to be better than the next guy at it.
Of course the chance to become a jedi in game is a major selling point for SOE and they are well aware of it, so I expect Jedi will become easier and easier to be until its just made a default starting option - probably about the time the next big challenger MMORPG comes out. SOE is in this for the money and from what I can see, can care less how well the game is balanced or maintains canon. If it will help sales (Kashyyyk leveling for Jedi helps sell the ROTW expansion for instance, new missions for newbies specifically feature Jedi and suggest it as a future path), then its in. If it won't help sales (fixing broken but unpopular classes - which are of course unpopular because they are broken), SOE ignores them. They are just about to gut Musician, Dancer and Entertainer for instance and the changes they have decided to make are laughable at best. The Entertainer boards has a suggestion that all 3 professions be combined and made 0 skill points so that perhaps some may remain behind.
The thing is, Jedi are supposed to be rare. I don't care if everyone and their dog has a Jedi Character, they should be forced by the game mechanics to remain obscure, never be seen in a major city or even player city etc. It should be HARD to become a Jedi, not just a matter of grinding for a long time, as many people ENJOY grinding even while they complain about it. Jedi is not hard, it just takes patience and the ability to subscribe to the game for a long time - and thats why we have the current system. If you want to become a Jedi, you have to pay SOE a lot of subscription money to do so.
4) Jedi are NOT as powerful as many like to claim (1.5of a normal combat prof, according to SOE). Think about how many times the Jedi in your hunting band beat the Bounty Hunter...
It takes a very good BH who is well equipped, well specced and well prepared, not to mention highly skilled, to take on a Full Template Jedi and win. Sure the recent changes to healing might have made that less true I am not sure, but its still a damn tough fight, and BH is such a superior spec in many regards that a lotof people have some BH just for the specials even if they know 0 Investigation skills. If you are talking about say a Jedi vs a Master Pistoleer who is not BH, I think you will find the 1.5 holds pretty true even still. Besides, we are talking PvP gamers here - a 10% advantage would be enough to have them flocking to play any class.
5) Jedi are NOT meant to be rare as some like to claim. Why do you think everyone got a Holocron for X-mas back in 2003? Jedi were not unlocking as fast as SOE wanted. Not my words, this came direct from SOE. Content badges have been added as well, due to the difficulty some had with the Warrens being bugged. And lets face it, the Rebel theme park is the most boring thing I can remember doing in this game, short of riding my bike to the village over, and over, and over...
Like I said, SOE couldn't givea flying **** about the balance of the game or the balance of the classes, they are milking this for all they can, and subscirption sales are all that matters. If things were otherwise - if say this was being maintained by Cryptic not SOE - then Rangers and Smugglers would have been fixed YEARS ago. Droids would work and thousands of other tiny bugs would be fixed as a matter of course. Instead SOE busies itself with seemingly buffing and debuffing Jedi and BH classes because they represent those elements of the game that are working well and are popular. They don't bother with other professions very much - other than to break them - and ignore the fact that this game was sold not as KOTOR online but as a chance to live in the Star Wars Universe. RIght now they are selling KOTOR online.
If you are bored, go play a non-jedi on another server, they are getting as rare as hen's teeth in the face of the Jedi Explosion.
I am FS on my main on Tarquinnas. It wasn't hard, it just took some time. Now its gonna take a lot longer to finish the grind and get to Padawan. At that point I will decide if I want to bother with Jedi or go back to a less FOTM profession. The real prize of Padawan status - and the reason I did the FS path at all - is the 2nd character slot. If they gave that away as a Veteran reward I would drop FS like a hot rock. I would love to see Jedi be as rare as possible, be a truely difficult path, that is 100% quest driven and different for every single player. I would love to see a year of permadeath on jedi to reduce the population, I would love to see the original promise of the game come true. I know better though and unless SOE announces SWG 2 I don't expect to ever see it sadly
I don't see it, either. As badly as SoE has butchered his "baby", if you were George Lucas, would you let Sony anywhere near Star Wars again?

Hmmm, if it takes too long and there are way too many jedi as we speak.........make the phases shorter. Ok think I got it.![]()
I have been playing this game for a very long time now. I, too, am grinding away for my jedi. I, as much as I hate to admit this, feel the phases should be extended to 1 or 2 full months. The reason I say this is simple, during the double xp week I knew a guy that just started the game. By the end of the week he was already glowing and at the FS village doing his first quest. Anyone see something wrong with this picture?
People who haven't even begun to do anything in the game are already grinding jedi.
How is it that a Jedi has to ask me things about the game that I figured out in a couples months of playing? Shouldn't being a jedi show that you've been around for a long time and are very knowledgable about the game?
Now, why would the devs lower the phase times again?
Way too long...? Never!!!!
Because of this easy way to become a jedi, it isnt too long to grind. U dont have to grind!!! U make XP everyday and u can change it to FS XP and sooner or later every guy, who is at the village will become a jedi :-( and thats not good.
Because of this way the game are detroyed and every 3rd guy is now a jedi and the best is, every new jedi make is title on and wear the jedi robe everytime and that's not good for the game. I think people i have talked about should be givena TEF and every guy should be able to kill those jedis.
Because every noob is asking "how do i become a jedi?" and dont play the other professions which are all good as they are.
So keep jedis rare and the game makes more fun for all.

Just my opinion, no more flaming I promise.
