Here is the way I do it. I am master swords so I run into a hurton stalkler lair and hit it twice with my sword just to get the hurtons swarming and to start the next spawn happening. This also ensures that the lair is the target. You do not want a hurton as a target since it will wander away at some point and your grenade will only affect it and not his buddies. If you do have a hurton targeted, hit peace then hit the lair with your main weapon to ensure it is targeted.

I then toss 30 grenades at the lair. I keep my sword equiped even though I might get a bit more XP by equiping something else. Not sure if I would nor do I care. I get plenty this way. Once 30 grenades are used I start my area attack on the lair and don't stop until it is dead.

This method only kills one or two hurtons by grenade and weakens about another 6 to 8. Once the lair is dead, I have generated 25k combat XP and some 2 handed XP. I use this method because I hate standing in one area too long fighting these useless little things. 4 lairs will give you 100k combat so after the first 4 lairs I getone hurton stalker mission and a 32k Janta mission just to mix things up a bit. This grenade thing is easy XP but it is quite dull.... and loot free.

I'm sure I could get more XP per lair if I tried but this is not quite so tedious. I doubt it is faster to sit there and toss 60 grenades at the lair or waiting for multiples to spawn. Once the first double spawn is gone then kill the lair (with your main weapon) and move on.

You will have no problem capping your 2 handed (or whatever) and your combat using grenades and your main weapon. I ususally stop killing dogs on dant once I have about 270k combat and 600k two handed. I get my BF healed and go play with some NS just to finish the buff off and keep my sanity.

I think 900k 2 handed and 300k combat is enough XP for a buff anyway. If you can get more then have at it, personally I can't grind more then one buff per day anyway.

This way means 10 buffs and 10 trips to the village, without grenades and stopping once your main prof has capped means 21 trips to the village.

I was just using grenades and not my main but I wasn't getting more xp. It was taking too long. Sure you can get 5500 combat XP for killing a lair just using grenades but it takes about 60 grenades to do that (and about 5 minutes). Those 60 grenades could have generated over 50000 combat XP had they been used on swarming hurtons.

Do not use grenades on a single target. You are wasting themif you do. Only use them when you are damaging several targets. How much do you like shopping for grenades and powerups? use them wisely.

So, would it be worth the time to get novice commando and master the grenade tree? I was just wondering if there was worthy differnece in the time saved using better grenades.

Yes it probably would. Because Commando has an entire tree of grenade usage devoted to it, if you get commando field tactics (or whatever it is called) 4 and use thermal detonators or something, you will bethrowing grenadesa lot faster, as well as finishing lairs a lot quicker just because of the increased damage.

Oh and by the way, thanks for the great posts guys

Exactly what I have done and it is extremely effective andI always cap my combat xpat LEAST twice per buff session. I originally only took Field Tactics (commando grenade line) up to the 3rd box for Imp Detonators. My current ones have max damage of 2200 and they have light AP.However I have now taken the 4th box and will be using Thermal Dets (max dam1900 and medium AP)from tomorrow morning. I'm lucky in that I have the resources to make these and access to a WS account. The commando grenades are much more expensive than standard C12's, but they also get you quicker XP.

You'll also find getting a Demolition Belt (limited schem from a tailor) will help with your grenade accuracy and so does citrus snow cake (from chefs).

For the two buff sessions it took me to Master Marksman and get Field Tactics 3, I have now more than made up for it with FSXP

Thanks for the info! I've been doing so much better with my force sensitive xp since switching to C-12's that I'm definitely going to have to check out taking it to the next level with the commando line.

Gaping Spiders are the most effective monster for grenade use.

They have 0 blasting resistance, armor none and give 4200+420=4620xp when killed.

They are also a Dathomir monster = quick fsxp exchange

No sologrup required.

things i have noticed that may help out. i am a master pike which to me helps out a lot. i keep a crappy looted staff equipped. and i go up to the lair and whack it enough times to make them angry and swarm me. i then do my area kd to put them on their backs then lob a grenade "targets seem to recieve more damage while kd" rinse and repeat. as for being a master using a cert weapon. im getting xp just fine.

also i have found to keep my chest and helmet piece unequipped while i start. as doing these techniques will pound the crap out of your armor (and yes go home with 900 bf easily). i keep the armor off and equip it as i notice my ham start to drop. it does save wear and tear on the armor.

remember to plan acordingly to the fact that your gonna be in the blast area and yes it does hurt you in the process.

i am smuggler, fear my cork guns
episode II: i am no longer smuggler i no longer fear the cork guns or the delay on the delay for the revamp.. leave a message after the beep when revamp comes and then i shall return. but then maybe i will show them and do a delay on my return.. ha!!! take that soe (if they have not frustrated me more then i already am)

tips for people doing this:

get Max Damage pups if your using C-12s

wear Ubese and not comp for some reason I've gone through 100+ crates of grenades and it really has touched my set ofUbese at all but when I used my comp armor it was wasted pretty fast

do quenkers! they end up giving about 50k of combat xp per lair and since I've been doing this awhile I can cap 3 times in 1 buff session!!!!!

I'm almost done and I must have spent a good 10-15 mil on this but believe me the power ups are worth spending the time and money for them because they add at least 400 to the max damage. Good luck to all you Jedi hopefuls out there in the future
