Thread: TOO MANY JEDI.....
A question for the person who posted this: Do you have any cluse how hard Jedi Padawan is? The FS gring is a joke by comparison, trust me....you haven't seen anything yet. I'm not complaining, I just think you know not what you say.

90% of the time, when people grief Jedi, it's by people who are angry or frustrated that they don't have their Jedi.
trade forums for wanderhome. Wildmann asked which profession used polymer with a high DR. Hurlobacca responded with "check swgcraft to check which professions use which resources". He must have grinded through weaponsmith. I, on the other hand, took my time with weaponsmith. and I knew that out of all the professions, ironically, weaponsmith was the only crafting profession that used polymer where DR was one of the primary attributes. Odd that Hurlobacca didn't. There is an example of what can happen when you "grind" your profession, or learn it.)
Off-topic, but to defend my partner and friend Hurlo. I see that response (and a hidden flame knowing Hurlo lol) more like "Check SWGcraft and you will get your answer on this question and a lot of other questions like that". Off course he knew which WS items use DR/OQ but he might not know all other that might. If anyone has taken their time with WS it is Hurlo. He might have grinded WS quick but he took several monts from he was MMWS to he started to sell weapons because he spent time collecting good resources.
But you are right about people rushing through professions. No surprise that they get bored.
None can accuse me of grindign out professions fast (well now I am pretty quick though). It took me 6 months to master weaponsmith. I started carbineer when I started to play in august 2003 and did not master until after the publish (lol that is probably 8 nmonths or so) with Geo lab (it was not until then I relaized how quick XP could come). Never did any focused XP grinding. I did my harvester runs, missions etc and did never grind out quenker lairs etc.
When I finally got Master Carbineer it took me 2 days and I started to get bored. What is now the point of killing things? Leveling gives you something to work for.
if its not. thats cool too.
quit complaining and play the game. If you dont like the game anymore, dont play anymore. You have the right to stop.

How aboutpreventingJedi from using force powers and equiping Jedi equipment in major cities? That would take care of the show offs who cause a lot of the annoyances. How about Jedi only being able to attack other Jedi and defend themselves against BH? That would prevent them from ganking regular players and causing anger.
Whatever solution the devs come up with has to apply to all Jedi. I already have a low level Jedi but I am very sensitive to the fact that some people who already have their Jedi suddenly want to shut down the Jedi pipline. That would not be fair to the new players. I do not suport permadeath BUT that would take care of most of the Jedi problem. The showoffs would either go underground or they will quickly die. Something to think about...

The idea of PERMA DEATH to JEDI is the most ubserd bunch of crap I have ever seen. Whether I had a jedi or was working towards one. To totally loose something you put hours of your life into and not to mention your money to play. Its ridiculous anyone would consider this idea, just so JEDI aren't running rampant. Everyone should have the right to play the game and achieve JEDI. 3 deaths and you loose how many hours of your life? You got to be kidding. I know I wouldn't want to loose a character cause I was ganked by a bunch of people, like 10 v 1 battle for the life of my character....I sure as hell would hope I had forcerun3 and didn't CTD. PERMA DEATH is not the solution, and it's a poorly thought irrational and extremist idea. That in the end seems like just a bunch of grieft waiting to happen.
I dunno what the hell your smoking OrionSeven, but I would love to see you cry if this PERMA DEATH solution was implemented, and you got ganked beyond believe only to loose months worth of playtime. Just so JEDI could be rare....please
Thank you! You are exactly RIGHT!!!!

How about phasing Jedi's
After someone goes 6 months attaining the level and a few more training they could have all force sensitivity removed and have to start from the beginning
I know what is meant mate (I just couldn't resist) but what do you suggest? If the system stayed as it used to be you'd have as many if not MORE Jedi now (I'd done 10 skills when they changed the rules). But there is an argument along the lines of 'why should people now have a harder time than the 20+ skill grind?' ItWAS easy to grind skills to master (mostly, BH is exempt because it's buggy)- some could be done in hours, some in days. Now we have 3 week wait for each phase - so a minimum of 12 weeks plus trials. About the same amount of time maybe... Certainly the only three Jedi I know (or have known) took around that.
Yes - Jedi is dimished if there are too many. But why do the rules have to change just because you 'got under the wire'? Some people will start the game as noobs this week -are you suggesting that in 5-6 months they shouldn't be allowed to reach padawan level, no matter how much they play or how good they are, because there are too many? Even though you want to make it even harder (and remember it's not slower to get cash and buy the 350k composite suits etc.)?
As I said, I know what you mean but stemming the tide means some people have a harder time of it than those that came before - and that isn't fair

Ever heard of a thing called the combat nerf dude, what do you think this is going to do to the FS grind?
1. Weapon damage/speed will be dramatically reduced.
2. It will take more then 1 person to hunt.
3. Grenades will no longer be combat XP.
I could go on, but i'm tired and don't feel like it.
CU will be great!
Specially the part that you will need more than 1 person to hunt (depends on what u are hunting and your prof ofcourse).
But from what ive heard it's not stated for sure taht grenades wont give combat xp?

seriously.. What does it matter how many Jedi there are?
seriously.. How does it significantly affect you playing of this game?
seriously.. If you don't like seeing Jedi that much, when you do see one, turn 180 degrees and walk the other direction.
