Thread: My idea for a new way to unlock jedi... DEVS, PLEASE READ!!

Jedi will only be able to attack eachother (LJ vs. DJ) or will battle BH


heres how it goes down...


1. gain badges to become FS


(if you are already FS, or when you become it, you will recive a distress signal from the village to seek out the old man, since its being attacked by imps.)


2. go tothe deepest of endor forestsand see the old man.


3. do several "hero-like" quests


4. Go on the OMs final quest to see if you belong with the forces of darkness, or prosper with the light, go across the galaxy to each world and speak to a singal person in a desolate place, depending on how you handle the persons difficult situation, you will receive dark side xp, or light side xp.


5. (MUST BE LVL 54+FOR THIS TO HAPPEN)gomeet the old man again again in his hut and he reveals thathe is a jedi and he is going to send you off to the light enclave!.. If you chose light,a DJ will spawn andinjurse the old man.the old man had weakened him enough for you to kill him. the old man dies, but right before,he gives you the wp to the light jedi enclave. If you chose dark, he says "I will not follow you down that path" And he is about to attack you, when you hit hima coupletimes and weaken him, a dark jedi will spawn and finish him, he will send you off to the dark jedi enclave.


6. you get a WP to either Dath (DJ) or yavin (LJ) you go there


7. speak to the gaurds at the gate, who will give you the quest to gain entrance. (go kill enemy enclaves camp)


8. go inside to the first room, the enclave will be much, MUCH bigger. talk to the next jedi he will give you a mission (show skill with unarmed (short curved lightsaber), poles (duel-bladed) two-hand swords (two-hand saber) or fencer (one-hand saber) ) You must go out and slay a specific # of creatures on a specific planet. (ex= krayts, rancors, kimmogillas)


9. go on your second quest to collect the ingeridients to build a saber


10. get your lightsaber (training lightsaber will be very crappy, it'll be like starting allllllll over again as a noob.)


11. fill up trainng saber skill tree, like you would do with the melee weapon of choice (sept with a glowstick)


12.Get the real lightsaber.... Your mommies and daddies who were jedi died by the scurge, and you are sent on a long task to retreive their saber. Before you go to a jedi in the enclave, and he asks you to describe it to him (Choose shape, color, describe race of perant and gender) he tells you where to find it, it appears that theclones had killed your father/mother on kasshyyk. You must go to an instance with agroup of jedi (Those who have completed this task alreadywill get more faction for their enclave... as explained later...) Anyways,you go deep into a cave, surrounding the cave are dead clones, droids, and a couple of jedi) as you proggress , and fight your way through droids that had been abandond during the clone wars (Battle, SBD, those droids with the staffsaber-like weapons). Soon, once you get to the very bottem, you must face either a DJ or LJ... once you kill him you get 200 of your enclave faction! (Lightside points or Darkside points) go down a wee bit deeper, and loot the corpse, the corpse will be which ever one you have chosen before when you were in your enclave. Go back, once you reach the top you come into a group of either DJ or LJ NPC's, you and your group must fend them off... then, go back home! talk to the jedi again and...(YOU GET JEDI INITIATE) after this, you do a couple more story-driven quests...


13. enter next room talk to the jedi who will begin the padawan trials.


14. do paddy trials ( Paddy trials will be much more longer...)


(YOU REACH PADAWAN )


(you get padawan robes and able to use force powers, also, once you reach padawan, you will get a new guild tag. either LJ (Light jedi enclave, or DJ.... you can geuss.. :emperor The enclave that wou are serving will be one massive guildhall... the only place that jedi will be able to train, meditate , ((RP :smileywink) rest from a hard day of training, talk with other jedi, and..... SHOW OFF! It would be like a massive underground city. only for jedi masters and their padawans.


There will be a single astroid station (much like the avatar station) where the two enclaves meet and fight eachother. And earn EFP (Enclave fp) which will be used to, well... get lightsaber mods. With this, the GCW will go back to constant battles on all worlds. non-jedi blasting away at eachother! and blowin up bases, no more jedi gank squads!


15. return yet again, and enter another part. You must go out and seek a player master or knight jedi, and become their apprentice.


16. return again. get another quest that you must go slay a mighty creature of that world (ex.gient spider=DJ, queen kliknik=LJ)


17. go back and enter the hanger. do several space-based missions with your ship of secretly dog-fighting against enemy jedi in your sector. complete several space based missions to earn either anakins old jedi fighter (as seen on clone wars on cartoon network) or if your a DJ a fighter type version of the sith infiltrator ( darth mauls ship in episode I)


18. You will have much, much more quests, could go on and on.... Some quests from this massive complex will involve a padawan & master (Players) going into a secret mission to infiltrate the DJ (Or LJ) enclave to gather information... many of the quests from padawan to master will involve a master and padawan players


19. Once padawans complete their templates, you become a master and must seek out a padawan... or let him find you...


Masters will be able to use any jedi ship, anikans ship from clone wars,normal jedi fighter, ETA-2 axis, and masters will get multi-passerger ships like sith infiltrators


If a jedi of any kind shows off his saber OR robes they shall be put on the top of the BH list of things to hunt..


BHs will play a fine role, If a player BH infiltrates the enclave, and leaves in a ship, the jedi must hunt him before he can return to any BH term, or NPC to warn them.. for every BH a jedi kills they recive 1k EFP.. for every jedi a BH kills is worth 1k BH xp and a load of creds! some master/padawan missions might even involve either a PC or NPC BH...

I think that you gotta be AT LEAST lvl 40+ before you get the mail sayin the village was destroyed. and you get the wp to the old man, and you must travel the galaxy doing quests. depending on how you handle the situation, you will get light or dark points. after this, you meet the old man, who. LIGHT SIDE: will tell you to go to light enclave. DARK SIDE: will try to kill you, he takes out a lightsaber, and a DJ spawns and helps you kill him. then the DJ gives you the waypoint to the DJ enclave and that he will see you there.

The themepark itself will be very difficult, if not that. VERRRRYYY long.

I like the idea of the theme park but I also have some issues . . .


firstly . . . even if every player says yes we should do this . . . the devs don't have to consider it. It would be in their best interest but they don't. We say the "Game play may change" tag on the box and we have to deal with it regardless on what we want or not.


I'm also not sure about the whole CL40 thing. Combat level is a new thing for SWG . . . and it reflects a certain type of game play . . . namely combat. But to not be biased against other types of game play (such as crafting and entertainers) it unfair to put a CL minimum on FS especially because there are crafting related mods.


Granted your system seems to center more around the path to Jedi, I think ou need to also conside the players that may want a connection to the force . . .but not be jedi.


Otherwise, your idea has merit . . . but looking from a glass half empty . . . I think anything like this would be publish 1,000,000

I like the ideas here.


I would also like to see a theme park for Jedi progression as well. Remove xp grinding for Jedi andallowpoints after quest completion. Remove xp lose from BH death, instead they must restart the quest. And once the Apprentice/Master relationship is introduced, they can make certain quests related to this feature.


I would like to see NPC BH chasing Jedi throughout the galaxy. This would really help with the AFK grinders on Kashyyk.

Right when you get the email to go see the old man on endor, you make the decision.... think bout it... do you want to blow up bases with nades, swords, and guns... or battle with lightsabers... you gotta think bout it...


if you decide not to, imperial inquisition will hunt you down and get you to join the emperors hands.... if you dont, you have to fight, and join the rebels

The entrance to the light jedi enclve would be in one of yavin IVs volcanoes, with dangorouse flies buzzing round, you enter a cave that goes down like any other caves. at the end, there is a massive door, at the door is a lvl 500 jedi which gives you the quests that you must complete in order to prove yourselfdo your several quests. once you finally reach padawan you gain entrance to the massive city. It will most likely look like the jedi temple from coruscant, mixed with its volcanoe features... you may even have to fight a few klikniks..


The dark jedi enclave shall be moved to dathomir, it will most likely be down in one of the ravines, where there are many rancors and other creatures. In the cliffwall there is a massive DJ symbol, next to it is the same DJ NPC that helped you kill the old man, you do several quests, your in... The innerds will most likly look like the sith acadamy from KOTOR. They might have even captured a few light jedi NPCs and rancors. maybe even nightsisters...


also, several master/padawan quests will involve rescuing either an NPC or PC from the enemy enclave.

This is all great, but there are no jedi during the original 3 movies, beside Obi, Yoda, Vader, and Luke. Until they progress the storyline past
the original 3 movies and add A REAL HONEST TO GOD storyline, with cutscenes and a script and everything. This is all just false.

Good idea though. If they only set up the storyline to handle jedi.

The distruction of the village would be a live event. and will happen across all servers at a specific time..


A star destroyer flys over dathomir, within it are FS imperial spies who have ratted out the poor villagers. The massive imp ship sends down several shuttles, each one lands about 10km away from the village. In each onewill drop offan AT-AT, two scout walkers, and three or four squads of differint troop types. They will build small camps and will respawn a few times.

The villagers however, could see this coming, they built up their walls and the shield generator, They had also made a small platform, where a shuttle would land to pick up the village heroes, like the elder and what not...and the village now would look like a puny fortress. Every current FS.... no jedi.. will receive a mail to come to the village ASAP. the objective is simple DEFEND!

As stated by the Rohimmianking in LOTR, two towers:"Our enemy shall hit the walls like water on a rock". the imperials WILL destroy the village due to the three AT-ATs, but the main objective is to get the elder out alive.. once he is out, everyone must leave. the At-Ats blow away the place... Then every FS, and every future FS shall receive a email to visit the old man in his hut, hidden away on endor...


This will be AFTER we get those freekin sweet capitol ships

I completely oppose any specific set of quests, grinding, or the like to unlock Force Sensitivity. I believe it should be randomly seleceted variables, created during character startup. Those variables being anything, random badges, mob kills, tips made or given, random quests completed... anything. And I don't mean just one either. And there should be a minimum character age before FS unlock, regardless if above circumstances have been met already, to ensure that the play is indeed familiar with SWG. And not realtime days, but online days.

Say, during character creation, a character had a 'key' if you will much like the profession grind before but different in that it's not just linked to professions mastered, but those other variables. That 'key' being a list of things that need to be done on that character to unlock FSS. Again... anything, not just mob grinding, or prof mastery, and have that list cotain several items. Basically like a more complicated version of the old prof grind, but not limited to profs. And it would have to be entirely random as to preserve the number of jedi in the game, instead of this fiasco we have now.

So, for example... NewToon123 is a new character created. An example of that characters key could be like: Mastery of some-odd prof, 742897 or more in tips, the mark of Intellect quest completed, 6345265 or more xp in cooking, 527 banthas killed, killed Eran Sif.

That's just a random selection of things. It could, however unlikely, end up just a few quests or profession masteries. But as you can see, with umpteen variables to choose from you likely wouldnt get that. Say you do on the offhand, well that's where the time requirement comes in, just to ensure the player is very familiar with SWG. Unlocks wouldnt happen often, but would in time. The goal is to make things tough, but very very uncommon.

Not to mention, something like the above system would also reward the veteran (or long time) players of SWG as the odds of completing said tasks would be much higher. At that point, once FS -IS- unlocked... I think a very very difficult, choice driven, theme park of sorts would be a great way to advance that character.

I just find the current system way too easy as is. And yes, I mean EASY. Time consuming, yes, but very easy to complete given time. Anyhow, just my two cents on it.

On a side note, they need to reinstate some sort of real risk to the jedi as well now. It is the only way to fairly 'cull' the existing number out there.

Just an example; there should be % chance of permadeath when a jedi dies. Say, something like 10% or so. And that percentage being from any kind of death. And like before, you wouldn't lose your FS slot, but would have to start the grind/themepark... whichever.

In regards to visibility, jedi should not gain vis' when grouped with other jedi, but should with non-jedi. This would allow a higher CL jedi to act as a master(s) per se, to a younger jedi and help them progress through the grind/themepark and still be able to gain xp. It would also eliminate careless flaunting in starports and cantinas, excessive abuse in the GCW, etc.

My ideas may seem harsh, but I believe the jedi no longer really have a real risk, except that of a couple more days grinding (or sometimes hours). There should be a substantial risk for the reward they have been given.

i love the idea, need some kinks worked out though, like instead of tat, seeing as its not a hard planet to traverse, how about yavin 4 or something, red mobs spawn randomly all the time while traversing it, and other things as well could be changed but i lvoe the idea

well no matter how hard it will be to become jedi there will always be a bunch, can't take it away from the people who already have it, the way to kill the jedi problem is make it hard to play as one make it so painful that only the best players want to be a jedi. make it so that jedi are scared of there own shadows, maybe have npc bounty hunters like bossik, boba fett, ig88 and the like that can hunt them as well. I also like the idea of Vader hunting i said it a long time ago in another forum. most people responses were he was stuck in one spot but the gcw has brought him out of the theme park and into theed a few times. Penlties is the best way, not tell people who can be a jedi and who can't just make it a very painful road to be a jedi always hunted. Also dark jedi should have it the worst hunted by both empire and rebel. Well jedi are only hunted by empire. But jedi shouldn't have force lighting and other powers from the dark side either.

Also, light and dark side jedi can switch sides...


Light- Turn on master (Player), handle a quest wrong,


Dark- Turn on master, handle quest wrong


Also, Neutral jedi just stay in their homes, across the galaxy, never conversing with other jedi. Neutral jedi. (NPCs, and players) Can be pursuaded to join one of the factions..
