Ok wadda bout this, keep the badges like you said, love the idea of the village, oh when we are jedi padawans we have a quest to go to the burned down village and there we meet 3 dark jedi they first influence us to join the darkside, then attack. And if you die the first time, since jedi have died there, you get one rez.Ok my idea

After the village was burned down the Old man is followed by a dark jedi/light jediand a bounty hunter.Once the BH ad DJ are defeated. The Old Man comes again alone. And then you get a waypoint and a crystal. Depending on which jedi you killed you go to the opposing enclave. Then prove yourself to 1)if your light you prove yourself to a padawan, if your acrafter you do a courier,2)If your dark you must take the lightsaber from the corpse of the well known jedi(screw it i forgot the name). Then, ah crud i gotta go cya

i think this is a great way to change the jedi path, but there are a few things you should know...

i like the quest and themepark way, as its alot more RP and funner.

but theres the downside....newb's would be able to group up with a highlevel guild or something, and become jedi with very little experience of the game. this would lead to a huge rise in jedi population, which is exactly NOT what SOE wants to do. SOE wants to keep the population of jedi low, while still making it possible for the casual player to get jedi. Thats how it really should be.

The grinding part of the current path to jedi is in there for a reason. Its not to make long and boring, and not liked. Its there to make getting Jedi more of a challenge then just something done overnight. They want jedi to be something earned rather than just doing a few quick quests.

Icad i really like that idea. obviouslly it would need polishing but that would be a much more engaging way to get jedi instead of standing in front of lairs for months killing endless spawns of god knows what. I dont think because its a themepark type unlock that conotates easy. it could easilly be made as difficult or more difficult than what we presentlly have. or easier as far as the combat goes but longer to complete. lots of options....nice idea though.

Tali i so agree with you on the jedi visibility. i really is ruining this game. i swear on eclipse jedi easilly outnumber non jedi players. so sick of seeing the gank squads and jedi hanging out in front of every starport. i really wish there was a severe visibillity penalty as you suggested. have visibillity based on an accumulation system. so much gets you on bounty hunter terminals. if you accumulate even more then maybe a visit from vader. and when he comes to kill you there would be force experience loss that comes with it. maybe a loss of an entire experience branch or worse. and maybe after so many visits from vader he will kill you one time that would unlock permadeath.

To sony difficulty=millions of xp, and in a way it makes sense. Otherwise there would be a write up after the first few people did it and everyone would know how to do it and thus making it easier. It would be very difficult for them to code some randomness in there. I almost shudder at the thought. They borke things when they add in a definitive set of unchanging rules.

I don't know whether this has been suggested but, Following on the idea of CL 500 Darth Vader, how about you have levels of visibility, certain things gain more vis penalty than others? Like PvP would have a higher vis rating modifierthan say being seen at a starport or grinding Mobs etc, The GCW would have a massively increased vis rating modifier, Grouped Jedi grinding/ PvP would have a much higher Vis rating modifier (based on how many jedis using sabres, robes and powers ) than regular grinding / PvP.

When certain levels or visibility ratings occur you get hunted by a NPC Maybe a BH or a Sith or Darth Vader etc etc what ever there preference is they start at CL 80 and raise in definatly as per the levels of vis rating you get.

Now, Not being seen with Jedi stuff on ( sabre, robes, using powers) would slowely reduce your Vis rating, the amount being determined by how high your Vis Rating is at that time, the higher it is the slower it goes reduces etc.

It could use alot more depth and detail but i think its a sound idea. Just my 2 cents.

I really like the idea of the theme park idea. It would give one a story line. I think as a jedi there is no story line, except for the village. The thing I would like to add to this theme park is the idea of gaining experience. I have to admit that I read alot of star wars novels. In reading the last set leading up toEp III, the authors have given a insite to how jedi padawans actually learned and lived. Now I am going with the assuption that we are going with the pre ROTS method of becomeing a jedi. My thoughts are this. Most jedi arereallyskilled in one or two things (unless your a master who may have 3-4). For example Anikan was skilled in the lightsaber and military tactics, Obi-won in Saber and Wisdom, Yoda lightsaber and force powers, others are skilled in Healing and force powers. All jedi have some light saber skills, but not all are saber masters. I know this sounds alot like the way things are done now but, the difference would be this. As you move through the story line you have to go and learn a proffesion or parts of a profession. This will unlock the appropriate forcetree and give you the status of padawan. Now here is the kicker and then thing that will keep things right and balanced. Once you choose your path as far as force knowledge. That is the path you must stay on. There is no changing. In the movies and books Jedi are given gifts in certainforce powersand that is the way it goes they adapt and become masters in those ways of the force. Now a character may choose to go total non-com with their character. They will still be able to go a portion of the lightsaber tree....maybe 2222.

I think this will bring a little balance to things. Jedi will have to have other jedi around to help them out. This would have to lead to a BH vs Jedi change. Right now Jedi can not help other jedi. I have always thought this was skewed. To make a jedi be alone, when he has friends around seems stupid and unreal. Now if a bounty hunter finds a jedi alone, then yeah that jedi must fight by him or her self. This just makes more sense and more realistic. Bounty hunters would have to learn patience, they may have a bounty and on first contact the jedi has friends around. This would mean two things, one he waits (like in real life) for the jedi to leave the group or the BH would just drop the mission (which should bring about a penalty) and choose another bounty to pursue.

The last thing is the padawan and master idea. I think this is a awsome idea. For a padawan to linked by a master, would be awsome. Now this can be handled a couple of ways. The first being the person must be a master to take on a padawan. This way is not that soluable for the simple reason that there are not alot of jedi masters out there. The other way would be to give padawans to jedi that havecompletedthier template and have become jedi knights. Maybe this is one of the steps in a jedi becominga master.(Also I thinkonce you choose to go masterand take that path you can recieve one or two more force trees) The master does not need to be trained in the same areas the padawan wants to go into, theyare just there to one: help out and protect and two: to just give wisdom on being a jedi. Plus there will be missions that have to be taken onby both the master and the padawan. This alows the Master to continue on there path to becomeing a jedi master and the padawan to learnalso. Only when the padawan has completed his template can they go through the trials to become a jedi knight.

Now I am not that smart and these are rough ideas. But I think they do have merit. I bought this game to live out a star wars experience. I think everyone at one time wanted to be a jedi. Now you may have changed those thoughts, but that is your choice. Lets make this as real as possible I think these ideas go with that notion. Now I do expect these to be blown apart. But I will continue to post just to fight for my beliefs.

QUEST is a must I purpose a new system one that might not be as complex to get jedi but being a jedi is going to be very different then the old days.

The enclave is gone the young jedi's in training killed by Darth Vader.... jedi everywhere are targets:

The Jedi Eradication has begun! The mission now is Survial!

After reaching FS the old man vists you in much the same way the system is set up now EXCEPT: NO MORE FS EXP FOR COMBAT EXP. Do away with this and replace with FORCE SENSEITVE THEME PARK. after completing mission quests you are given FS points. plus everything in Swg assigned FS rating or worth so you earn FS points from individual attacks of creatures and such after unlocking FS.

VILLAGE EXIT QUEST: The village is attacked (by over welming force of imperials by moderate to high levels you face the first wave and then are force to flee. ) you and the old man make your way outside the village and watch as it is destroyed. the old man says we must depart quickly they will come for us now. he'll join you and agrees to teach you what he knows. Congrats your an intiate. he's treated as a NPC pet ( which you can heal and order attacks but the attacks are randomly controled by AI.) we must make are way to old jedi academy to see if any one there can help us.

Upon arriving you see the dead bodies of the young jedi littered across the floor. you are grief stricken but you have no time to morn their loss, you are ambushed and must fight your way to the lower levels. its a tough fight but you make it. the old man collapses the entrance you have no choice but to go down in to the depths of academy. Now once down here it should be possible to group with other intiates but only the inviting charater retains the old man, he will accompany the group and betreated as there master as well. ( If dibanded the others will again recieve the oldman as a NPC.)

QUEST TO BUILD TRAINING SABER: Speaks for its self a puzzle quest mixed in with hunt for parts quest etc etc

JOURNEY TO THE CORE:

Now you face large groups of monsters, puzzle quests to get past obstacles, mission quest to obtain needed items. (heres where you grind but its got a purpose, your grinding to get to the lower levels where the jedi hid there library of knowledge .Upon reaching the library you must perform some puzzle quest to gain entry. Once in side you must dispatch some high level droids maybe do more puzzle quests to by pass security. Finally you gain access.

WELCOME TO JEDI TRAINING 101:

THE TRAINING ARENA : Where you have to fight hologram(s) of jedi Trainer(s) of various styles. Each time you fight you earn more Training exp, when you successfully beat him you learn his technique. (Dev's could set this up that a specific amount of Exp. will be necessary to beat said trainer.) Another words your learning or improving everytime you battle a Trainer.

the are 7 Jedi saber forms I would like to see these incorperated into the game along with the option of the use of a single blade, two blades (one in each hand) or a polearm type blade (Darth Maul type) One or 2 of the forms could be learned here and the rest learned in later quests. Each saber style would have techniques that are better or worse against other saber styles. blocks work better against one style and worse against others. attacks do more damage or less dmg depending on oppsing style. Requires strategy.

.

POWERS TRIAL:

Here's where the dev's could excel themselves by coming up with a game within a game for the other force powers. Here's four I came up with.

FORCE PUSH TRIAL: Come up with a scenerio where you need to use the keyboard to dirrect the Force push at a certain target/object at first its real difficult to control but the more you do it the easier it gets and you earn exp towards force push every time you succeed at the mission. its a timed mission so you have to do so many pushes in an aloted time succede awarded more exp. fail awarded some exp.based on amount of successful pushes executed.

FORCE HEAL TRIAL: You would enter the medition chamber. Once in side you begin to take damage the rate is ever change and you have to heal to match the rate too much you use to much force power to little you get incapped sooner it's constantly changing rate that requires constant change. You get a little more force power everytime you attempt a mission if you go for length of mission you get more exp If you get incapped there is no decay on your items. and you get some exp.

FORCE CLOAK TRIAL: This chamber you must sneak past droid guards undo security grid and obtain crystal. easy right did I forget to mention this mission is timed? oh and that theres a crystal in the center that absorbs your force power.

NOTE ON POWERS: Once a power is mastered it would be treated or used the way it is currently in the system. Thus its only use during training as I have mentioned above.

OTHER POWERS: Dev's can apply same principles as above in that your grinding, but its story related and challeging. I.e. I get bored with Heal I can do training or push.

THE DARK SIDE: When you reach this stage you will learn the story of the Gaurdian of the library who fell to the darkside. And Recieve the quest to find the lost holocron of the sith. Here the dev's can make it so that you can learn a few dark side powers (like in KOTOR) or that you have to choose between the light and dark side. If you choose the darkside the oldman will leave you and says I cannot follow you down the path you have chosen. You are given waypoint to exar kuns temple

EXIT QUEST:

Begin the journey back up. the dev's can make it so that you have to go back the way you came or

take an alterntive way. ( I vote for the later as the academy will be watched.)

Once up top you begin your life as a jedi padawn and have to do quests to find other jedi's either help them complete there task or escape to freedom. You could set this up that the old man knows people that will contact you with missions involving the possible locations of jedi being held, hunted, or imprisoned and your job is to help them. They old man will leave you now and give you a waypoint where he can be reached. (you need him in order to train.)

If you chose the darkside you quest mission will be to head to the temple of exhar khun and there you will truly become sith and your mission is to hunt down jedi and destroy them. You will receive the same type of missions as the light side possibly even the same mission that another lightside jedi has taken where you will now have to kill both jedi's to be successful at the mission. return to the temple to train.

Either choice both type of jedi's are hunted! brandishing a lightsaber in public will draw instant attention! It will spawn several waves of storm troopers moderate to high levels. there will be a brief delay after first wave is delt with if jedi remains more waves of more difficult levels will appear and you will go on the BH terminals. Use of jedi powers could aggro near by standers and might cause a patrol to spawn within a few minutes. Use of mind trick will allow you to go unnotice most of the time but it may not always work. The dev's can also come up with a way for jedi to stay under the radar. Earn to much visablity your a hunted man. So missions you may be forced to become visable you might have to rescue a imprisoned jedi. Here you could enlist the aid of a smuggler and perhaps enlist fellow guild mates to help you do the misson the smuggler could afford you a disguise as long as he's with the party and as long as you don't use/carry lightsaber in public, or cloak or Force push although some force powers won't aggro passer byers like healing and enhancements (Doctors do this all the time) some will. As you complete each mission you earn FS towards becoming master. If you are incaped by imperials you may get tossed into prison were you now have to escape/bribe or if you are killed you lose FS.

Now Some of you are gonna probably hate this but this would really reign in the jedi's. They would have missions and they for the most part would be unseen as they would be grinding out of the "public eye." When they reached the level where they return to the public they would have to be aware of the GWC and that they are being hunted to annialtion. No more jedi Gank squads face it boys/grils most level 80's have a tough time wining with one jedi let alone 3 or 4. They may still exist but its attack at your own risk, the imperials will come down on you and come down hard with wave of imperials showing up progressing in levels and faster spawning rates and possibly drawing the attention of Vader himself. I propose the Infrared gogled imperial npc who can see Cloaked jedi. for those of you thinking gank and run. their rare but when they show you better go.

ADDITIONAL MISSIONS & REWARDS:

mission to find other lost jedi libraries that contain new techniques or improved Force tecniques such as improved force push, (use less force energy) or Improve cloak (stay cloaked longer), relics, artifacts, armors etc etc

Well theres my idea what do you all think.

SoE fails horribly to realise that grinding is NOT difficult, just Time Consuming. I agree with the Theme Park idea, we just need STEEP requirements, so noobs can just forget it.

Here is an Example:

-Earned ALL PoI badges
-Combat Level 80 or an equivelent Crafting/Entertainment level (boxes have the same value as combat boxes do for crafting/entertainer)
-Has had an active account for at least a year
-Has at least 3 professions mastered at one time or another

Basicly, new Reqiurements for glowing, everything follows the path it takes normally (Sith attack, Sith Camp) untill you get to the village.

Now, the Village should be quest fuled, say, 30 quests per Branch. Of course, the quests being relevent to said branch but uniquely generated from a pool of quest peices, and also only being able to do up to 3 a day, each time rolling over if you aren't able to play.
If the Quests/Day ratio is 3:1, the player has to at least have been playing for a year and 2 months.
Failure in any quest will force you to have to start over on your branch, and groups will not be allowed to take these on.

From here, everything is as it is, the Dev's just need to find a way to retool the village so it is a more enjoyable experience

Once again.. I need support! I think that if I get abunch of ppl to post here, the devs'll HAVE to consider!

I think that you gotta be AT LEAST lvl 40+ before you get the mail sayin the village was destroyed. and you get the wp to the old man, and you must travel the galaxy doing quests. depending on how you handle the situation, you will get light or dark points. after this, you meet the old man, who. LIGHT SIDE: will tell you to go to light enclave. DARK SIDE: will try to kill you, he takes out a lightsaber, and a DJ spawns and helps you kill him. then the DJ gives you the waypoint to the DJ enclave and that he will see you there.

The themepark itself will be very difficult, if not that. VERRRRYYY long.

You ppl arnt hearing me..

When I say hard themepark, I mean it! it will be three times longer than rebel (or jabbas) themepark. There will be two..

FS: get FS by badges

THEMEPARK #1: Themepark to see which side you will be on (Light or Dark) P.S. need to be lvls 40+ to get holomail telling the village has been annialated by imp forces

THEMEPARK #2: Themepark to get jedi knight. (Or dark jedi knight)
