Free unlocks were gained through completing holo professions. Turns out there were 8 professions needed to obtain in the old system to unlock jedi (4 could be found via holos). If you completed three or more you get unlocks (two less then the number you completed). This system is no longer in effect and you can no longer gain new unlocks. If you think you might have some unlocks talk to Paemos.
Additionally, you don't have to quest to train a novice box, they're always available.

I know you get free unlocks at tier 2 and 3... Anyone who has mastered do you get any free unlocks at tier 4 and master?

From Tier three and up, most if not all skill boxes are filled through the completion of missions, not the compilation of experience.

i've done all tier 3, and all were free, but have a friend doing tier 4 and the first 2 missions hedidnt get a free unlock?

they were for holocron grinders only, Pre-Jedi Revamp stuff..... if u didnt grind professions or u joined SWG after jedi-revamp u probably dont have them, but if u do....
go to village , IF your FS already and go to paemos and select i think the fifth option down, something about "what skills can i learn" but if u do have free unlocks it'll show their....

If the rule was that if you were "glowing" the day of the revamp, which I was, youshould have received an exeption from having to do the quest system. Is this true?

no, if u unlocked before revamp u didnt have to grind.....
glowing simply says u have lots of POI badges, misc badges and theme parks (your well known in the galexey according to the game)

You got them with the old path to jedi of grinding through professions.
You cant get em now.
If you did 4 of your holocron professions you got 2 free unlocks. Then there were 4 more hidden holocron professions that you had to find to unlock jedi, the more of those you found the more free unlocks you got.
So if you did all 32 professions you got 6 unlocks (you would have actually unlocked jedi if you did all 32 but just before the new system was patched in, the old system was put on hold, so a few people went into the jedi publish with 32 professions).
