i've been in 4 missions for the FS quest, 3 being succesful. to take out the turrets use pets they dont have to be uber but they can walk through the sheild and walls to kill the turrets and gate w/ out getting agrrod. it saved my groups time and resources this way. and a group of 3 is preferable w/ one ranged prof to pull w/ bleeds and a doc is a bonus. it takes all but an hour to do and you just have to be patient and not blow in like you're John Waynea mission.

I am a little surprised that most people are having such a hard time with the sith thugs. They are about the strength of NS protector they just can't fight as well as them. Any master combat class should have no trouble fighting 2-3 at once. They don't have any force powers and are unable to use light saber specials. Since they have no Jedi abilities they are really easy pickings. Even when they use stun batons they aren't very dangerous. If you are melee get them to use melee; if you are ranged keep them at a distance. The hardest part of the phase 3 mission was the long boring walk back to the village. It was hard not to fall asleep while walking the 6k to the village.

It seems a bit odd you saying this then just about everyone else says that they are really hard. As a melee master it is hard getting close one of them without loosing half your HAM and it is very hard to kill him. Two or three seems rather close to impossible but I might be wrong or just a bad fighter

Note that I have done this mission and I think it was with no doubt the coolest mission yet in SWG.

I am not a melee stacker and I have no healing abilities and I can kill 3 at once. They dont have hidden res, they just have double the ham of crystal hunters and untitled FS. That is why you can kill them twice as fast. None of my friends were shocked at the amount of damage they can take. One look at the medium armor and 75-85% res and 50k plus ham tell you that it will take a bit of time. Things that take a ton of punishment are DJK and DJM. Thoses guys take some time to kill solo.

I don't see the problem with the turrets. My master rifle/swordman can take out both turrets in no time with a T21. If there is no sith around, you can literally dodge the turret shots as the come toward you. The Thugs seem to be random in what specials they use. I can tank one or 2 of them, but if one starts shooting me whileI have the sword weilded, I get hit hard (ranged migration issue as posted above).

i just did it with 2 other people both of them melee

so im ch/rifleman, a tka/doc and a pikeman/nov commando

(didnt use pets much but if u have ranged pets they can take out turrents while ur safe hehe)

i was the only one to die but the doc revived me, luring them away is the hard part we got a 3 seperated at dif times killed em but they just seemed to respawn on us later me an the tka led them away from the gate and the pikeman went in for the leader, they returned while he was leaving but a quick getaway was made

we did it but its def hard and being buffed with good armor helps truth is i didnt think we'd make it but after we did it and got our reward it was totally cool, it being hard just makes it more rewarding

find a cpl melee people and a doc keep trien this was my second attempt and it worked took about 30 min lol

and as i said above dont go during high traffic times people fly by drawing the sith from close camps to you lol

Well, my frienda TKM and myself a Mswords, were owned just about every time we tried this mission and have finally decided to not bother with it anymore. One more mission like this and I will simply move on to another game... it's totally screwed, for example:

1) Getting within 400m of village and commander dieing even though only 45 minutes have gone by - had a stop watch in front of me..

2) Getting commander and having him die only 20 minutes after capture - again stop watch.

3) Trying to get into the base and finding I can't see the front gate even though I am in front of it trying to hit it - can you guess where I ended up - cloned...

4) Getting fried with by sith after sith is not my idea of fun...

We tried the food, the tactics, and I guess SOE wants you to have to give up scout, ranger and any other profession you might like to just pick up pure combat professions...

Now perhaps most players in this game are not casual players with a wife and family, or other real job in the world and can afford to spend huge amounts time dropping and regrinding professions just for this mission.... if so I guess I am playing the wrong game and I should move on...

I bought this game to become a jedi, they never said it was going to take six months or more to get there.... trying getting some new plots and adventures instead of just slowing people down with boring grinds.... and impossible missions - i would like to know how many people have soloed this mission.... with just one combat profession...

my two cents....

completed it with one friend! and i still think its impossibly hard. we did it by sheer dumb luck. im master pistoleer, TKM, rifleman 0100, medic 0010, and friend is TKM only.

We found base empty with just turrents, gates, and no sith..So we used droid to kill turrents, then as we attacked gate, sith spawned and chased us away, we got one alone, killed it, and then proceeded to kill em one at a time. untill 5 were dead. (another group treid to cheat in on us but they got killed)(also,at this point when they arrived many manymore sith spawned, approx. 25 to 35of em). Any way after we killed the 5 the THECOMMANDER DIDNOT SPAWN, at this point. we were confused and upset, lol, and trying to escape the massive hord of sith that realized we were in the base sucked,at this point myfriend who lowerd shields died.andto my enjoyment thecommander spawned, however i could not capture him untill friend returned. so i ran and ran. i died once and friend died 2 more times, finally friend returned un buffed and tried to make the sith follow him. commander was still there so i ran in grabbed commander and ran ran and ran.friend was slain, and i got incapped but not slain. another player drove by and sith chased him. LUCKY me. then i got up and ran with the comander following all the way to the base, and i completed. whew! sheer dumb luck.! so good luck to you all.

also, remember to buy lots and lots of synthsteak, youll be eating them like candy. lol

I have seen alot of great posts about what to do what not to do. These professions work sneak here wait there, sacrifice the shield downer to auto spawn the commander this mission is easy lol lol. I want to believe you people. I really do. But I have just spent everyday since the begining of phase 3 in groups of varried sizes and experience trying this mission over and over. They all ended the same way. In the clone station. You're all right, if you are patient and have the right tactics it should happen. We have been using those same tactics over and over - back to the clone station. Your all right if that random other group comes along at the right moment pulls off all the baddies you can run right in and grab him, or sacrifice thatother guy who is supposed to help you finish the mission it should happen.

Examples of Obi won from the movie aside I just want to point a few things out. We are not Jedi yet! The Captian says find someone to work with that has dropped the shield or can grab the commander, implying it can be done with just two. Tried it many times, back to the clones.Teamwork should not have to include one of you pulling all the bad guys away and laying down so they can stuff an apple in your mouth before they cook you! And a challenge is one thing but I have been hit for 3600 past my armor, past my buffs....pass the butter please they are sticking the apple in my mouth. Thats not a challenge, after five or six of em start shooting like that it's called a massacre. Good lord the best buffs I have seen ever were 2600+. Take into account still that other players that are trying to get a jedi charactor so they can have a combat charactor are the people who make your wpns, clothes and armor. They deserve the chance to wield a lightsabersame as you andI. I am a combat lover, but this is insane. We had healers and rezers with us doing nothing but keeping us alive. But even they cant stay alive if hit by shots @ 3600 damage multiple times.

I know it has been done. I have been shown the crystals and seen friends who opened the accuracy branch. So yes there is no denying it can be done. Please believe me. I am no noob, been here since launch and know what I am doing with my TKM HVy Swordsman Ranger. Using all the tactics suggested over and over again I have never come close to what you call easy.

In the end this is a game, meant to be enjoyed by all that play. Not just the ones who find the loop holes, and can spend every waking hour playing. I am no longer enjoying myself. I pay to play. Not to get roasted over a spit no matter how hard I am trying. I have met so many others that are considering quitting because of this stummbling block or the inabillity to get out of it.

Obviously it is too high difficulty, and something should be done to lower it and make it more plausable for those of us who cant make all these great tactics ( and dont get me wrong they are great tactics and suggestions) work for us. I hope those of you fortunates who beat it continue to help those who have'nt, and hope you dont look down on those of us who are still trying despite our lack of hope in the matter.

That is the problem is it not? If i had known exactly how hard this mission was going to be.. and that it IS NOT able to be beaten with two players.. (unless you beat the system at its own game) I am now in the same boat as alot of other people.. stuck in a mission you can't complete and can not get out of.

There is no "sorry captain.. your mission is too hard for me .. and i would like to help someone else in the village" option.. if there was i don't think this would be such a big issue. The problem with the village is it is russian roulette.. you spin the wheel and pull the trigger.. and hope you don't get the "Sorry you are gated for 3 weeks try back again in 12 weeks."

The game really is losing the fun factor.. this mission would be acceptable if two people really could beat it.. either change the Thugs so they have 50k hams and no resists.. or make them 5k hams with there crazy 80% resists.. there are 10+ of them there.. and they hit hard.. its still going to be a challenge but not to the point that people want to quit.

I assume that the dev's want to keep players happy and playing so they pay.. if you tick us off enough.. we will just leave... swg is not the only mmo on the block. There is some stiff competiion coming. I have been here from the very begining.. and it always puzzles me as to why they do the things they do. There has to be some paper somewhere on someones desk that says why we need to have 10 thugs.. with 50k hams.. and 80+ % resists..

My question is what is next? 280k hams.. 99% resists?.. might aswell won't that even be more fun?

I think not..

Well.. my 2 cents..

Peace

Hello. Just one question... as far as these Disk Drops. It's mentioned on the first post that Sith Thugs are dropping the disks near the Outpost. Is this the Science Outpost, Trade Outpost or the Village?

If so, about what distance from the location should I be searching? A 200m, 300m, 500m, etc. radius from the location?

Also, just testing how hard the Turrets are. I was able to take them out Solo with a Scout Pistol and Composite Armor. It took about 3minutes for each Turrett. I was able to destroy the 3rd Turret in Mur without destroying the gate. Mur is elevated, so I was able to go 50 meters out and below (going down the mountain side, with my target still locked on the Turret).

Thanks for any help with my questions.

I see this thugs around from time to time and thought about single-drawing them to loot them, but figured they were probably part of somebody's mission or something and I didn't want to interfere.

Are saying that nobody would be upset if I killed these guys wherever I find them?
