Thread: What is to Become of FS?
Removing Jedi = Massive account cancelling
Massive XP requirements = Massive account cancelling
Long time grinds = Massive account cancelling
Making it harder = Massive account cancelling
So how to solve the problem? Put how you become, (BECOME!!!) Jedi back the way it was. A mystery. Tell NO ONE. Not even the CSR's. Give no hints, give no help. It's already too late for the ones that have FS. Unless you want 100's or 1000's of accounts cancelled, forget nerfing them. Make Jedi and BH's STRONG and about equal in combat. REMOVE the 3 wk wait at the village and let the ones that have FS now hurry up and get Jedi and get it over with. They'll burn out soon enough. Yes, you will have a massive influx of Jedi for a while, but bite the damb Bullet. Eventually, the population will fall off due to attrition and people cancelling their accounts at the normal rate. The draw is Jedi, but playing the game over a normal toon lifetime is the best way to get it. Link FS and the other ways to train Jedi to the Moral issues that would make a person a real Jedi in the Start Wars Universe. That way, you chet people, you never make Jedi. You kill innocents, never get it. Instead of giving secrets of how to get it, give light or dark Force Points in an undisclosed amount, over an undisclosed period of time, for doing undisclosed feats, quests, and acts of goodness or charity.
The current Jedi, FS, and Padawan population is a lost cause, and trying to slow them down or weed them out will only result in lost revenue. Do the same for the FRS. Make it a Mystery. Not killing other Jedi, but doing quests, acts of goodness and charity, heroic acts, fighting on your side of the GCW, etc. Tell no one. Tie it to actions and deeds and quests.
Problem solved.

who says that? didn't see any mention of that on the TS patch notes. Where are you getting your information from?

It does need something to slow it down a bit. The phases on the village do help. This is a MMORPG and shouldn't be beat overnight.

FS isn't "beating" this game. And be happy to know the combat ratio is now 30:1

If you look on the top of the FS board that has the posts that you cannot bring down it says TC Conversation Rates Change by Baciacca, and usually what happens in TC will eventually happen on all the servers.

Then you should take up Dodgeball or something. If you're playing a MMO, you should expect change.
Way to get jedi should just be changed period. i am in the middle of my FS grind, and would hate to have it happen, but i realize there is just too much of a "steady stream" of jedi pooring in. Im not sure what the method would be, but just CHANGE it 100%. If NOBODY knows how to be a jedi, nobody can write an FAQ about it, and start the "steady stream". Once we're back to a "steady stream" of new initates, change it again. Its mean, its cruel, it will wash out the Whiners who think jedi should be an "i win" button, and reward the ppl who are really dedicated to becoming a jedi.

Just an odd thought, but what about using different means to become jedi?
Sort of mashing the old hologrinding technique, the newer "badge" system and the other various suggestions in thread and then have the server randomly dictate a "path" for each character? Then remove the /check system, sit back and let the players roll on.
For BH vs Jedi have it so that whicever dies suffers massive damage. We're talking having maybe 100 to 200 hitpoints that take forever to return and cannot be healed by the usual means (or perhaps adding a quest to heal the wounds). Maybe making that all across the HAM bar (Force Bar included).
This would simulate dying and "being brought back" rather nicely as all of a sudden losing a fight means more than a quick trip on the "Clone Center Express". And then to deal with the missions for Jedi, simply make it that once a mission is taken, it disappears until one or the other dies. With the new "mission degrade" timer, that would certainly spice things up for a Jedi and BH. And even ease back on the amount of groups hunting Jedi.
Granted it might be a bit tough to see all the nuances in such a system, but I think randomizing the "path to becoming a jedi" would work rather well. I think it would add a great deal of variety in how people become a jedi and certainly would generate alot of in-game interaction as people compare notes and wonder.
After all, if every character is supposed to be unique? Why are most of us playing carbon-copy characters in how we do things?
**adds his two cents to the pile**

The only way to control the jedi population without affecting those who just want some FS to enhance their skills is to change the padawan trials.
And watch 1000's of accounts vanish, and millions of dollars go ker-flush !!
Brilliant.
