People said that because they don't want jedi to have an advantage in space, and I agree with that... But for the xp thing, why would pilot have nothing to do with it, and Commando 4000, TKM or dancer would ? ^_^

i would think we would be allowed to, i would sign it any day. xp is xp, so we should be able to convert it into FS xp even if it is 30/1

Good, good, long time since the last valid argument against that xp conversion... Shame devs and FS correspondant didn't answer...

I'd like to know if that could be done or not... Won't prolly ever have benefits of it, I almost finished my FS grind, but I think about the other...

There seems to be some confusion.
A tier 5 (other than a gunboat) is worth 6K to 9K xp or prestige. Let's say we're grouped, and not too far from each other. Every time you kill a tier 5, I get 6K to 9K prestige even if I never hit the ships you destroy. So, obviously, you accumulate prestige much faster in a group than solo.
I can't remember if it works the same way before you reach master (I guess not), but that's how prestige works (and after reaching master you don't get xp anymore, just prestige).
So, if you have a group capable of killing 30 tier 5's in 15 mins, then you get 180K-250K prestige in 15 mins. How fast you get prestige depends on the strength of your group.
Note that to get 1 million prestige in 1 hour flying solo, you would have to kill 100+ tier 5 Aggressors, or 150+ other tier 5 types in an hour, which is not realistic.

Just like to say... that is completely wrong. You have to do about 5% damage to a ship to get xp for it. The only way it is "faster" xp, is because the xp isnt divided like it is on ground, 5 people might get 1k on the ground, but they will all gain 6-9k in the air. For one person, or a group, it isnt too fast.

My hunting grounds is usually deep space, since it is devoid of people to compete with for things to blow up. Depending on how well the imperial npcs are doing, there are several corvettes depleted of guns, so they are quick and easy kills. I'd estimate prestige income solo, to be somewhere between 800k-1.7mil, the difference being what is killed. the smaller ships for 6-9k, or gunboats and corvettes killed for 28-48k.

I'd love to see something like this ingame. Of course, there are some who have fled the ground game and grind for space, who have some ludicrous banks of starfighter combat xp. This open upper cap appeals to me, and yet I rather expect that if the Starfighter XP was to translate, a cap on XP gained would also be instated.

there is a way to get FS xp from doing space combat exclusively....

the Tier 5 fighters in kessel and deep space give about 50 faction points each when you are overt. you can then go to a faction recruiter and convert those faction points directly into combat xp at 1 to 1. you then convert that combat xp into FS xp at 3 to 1....

this works out to about 15-20 FS xp for each tier 5 fighter. considering you get around 7000 prestige for each fighter, the conversion is about 450 to 1....

this is probably many orders of magnitude less than most people are hoping for... but at least its possible. ;-)

Problem with that, is freelancers cant overt into deep space, and you have to go 10k in kessel between 1-5 enimies... even at a 25:1 conversion rate for pilot prestige/starship xp, making a max of 1.7mil xp, gets 67k whatever fs xp.... and it arguably takes longer than that, cause that is assuming you kill 1 gunboat/corvette per minute. Not to mention prep time could be alot longer, or shorter than ground combat, seeing as how ground needs 10 minutes for ent buffs, then a doc to buff them... pilots might need to go around shopping for parts, ships and other things, albeit they will last them significantly longer than buffs.

"you can argue that one person has TKM and its not fair for the entertainer..JTL, like other profession, is a customer choice.. Sony should not use this as a basis for not including it into the conversion table"

copied from an earlier post ^^^^^ forgot to quote it

TKM and entertainer are both availble to be played with just SWG ,so if an entertainer has a problem with the exp they get compared to TKM , well get out of the cantina and get to rancor vally... now the point i am making is NOT everyone can or will buy JTL,so if you have JTL and i can not afford to buy it, does that not give you a unfair advantage over me ?? even if just a small one ?
