People said that because they don't want jedi to have an advantage in space, and I agree with that... But for the xp thing, why would pilot have nothing to do with it, and Commando 4000, TKM or dancer would ? ^_^



Well the fightin stuff will teach u to fight w/ or w/o a lightsaber and for dancer...my guess is like bribing the BH not to kill u by humiliating urself by(if ur a guy that is) like getting one of the extremly revealing articals of clothing and making em dance at the starport of cnet...that'd be funny

This would be excellent. Prestige experience should be convertible too, there's essentially no real use for it other than getting into deep space for 30k a pop.

Yeah, make everyone dance !

Dancing should be an ability everyone should have, only you have to get entertainer skills to have more dances available and heal wounds

Oh you mean like dancing is connected to the force somehow and piloting a ship isn't? By it's nature the force should be connected to every skill and facet of this game. I am all for pilot exp conversion.

Problems with allowing pilot XP to be converted:


* Jedi and JTL are explicitly and purposely separate systems. One is, by design, not supposed to affect the other.


* It's really easy to go rake in millions of XP at essentially no risk. You can pack 20 of your toons and your friends into a well-equipped MP ship, and go sit at the Kimo Kamp forever. One person doing a (very) little work, and everybody getting XP.


* Since Master is supposed to kinda-sorta take 7.5 million XP (even though it doesn't), how much XP/prestighe would a Master Pilot be able to hold? If somebody can hold 7.5 mil or 15 mil, the return rate would have to be abysmal.


* Prestige is apparently supposed to be accumulated to be spent on accessing special zones & content in space. Aside from Deep Space, we've yet to see it, but this seems to be the mechanic.


* Imperials would get a completely overwhelming advantage. An Imperial with /bomberStrike3 can take out corvette after corvette in Deep Space, or just belly-shoot endless gunships, and rake in 10's of k of prestige for trivial risk, and no decay if a fighter shoots you. After the initial oooh-ahhh of Deep Space, you can pull in 300k of prestige in 30 minutes, with a break for lunch in the middle.




Now, I would agree with SW XP converting, because that takes hard-bought resources in the ground game.

I wonder why we couldn't convert that xp into FS xp...

After all, Pilot is a profession like every other prof, even if it doesn't require skillpoints, it requires time, and time is the main factor in FS conversion, right ?

So... I suggest a 50:1 ratio, and here's all the math...

Combat/reflex xp seems good to me, even if some people mentioned conversion in all FS xp, I don't see why you should get sense and crafting for it... That's a point of view though, with a craft like the famous millenium falcon you should get 98% craft xp (for the repair branch ), or when piloting a big ship (like why not the MP ones) you could get sense because if requires more though, commanding abilities, etc.

You can (according to master pilots) get 1 million Starship XP in 1 hour... Wich would be 20k FS xp.

An elite combat prof can get easily 600k weapon xp + 60k combat xp, that would give a total 40k FS xp... (done a cap in 1 hour with TKM)

I ask that ratio for 2 reasons :

- make starship xp ONE way to get FS xp, but at no price THE way to get it (like grenades...)

- not to spoil anyone who raised FS xp by the other ways

On top of that no one can argue that it would make FS xp too easy to get that way... People could get 200k+ FS xp in 1 hour using grenades, and no one complained about it, but surprisingly, many did about converting starship xp into FS xp...

I would love to have my 61 millon pilot prestige converted, but plain and simple the xp is handled differently so its not a good idea.


Ground you xp is base don the damage you give. In space if it dies and you hit it just onnce you get full xp even though someone else may have actually killed it


There is a separation between ground and space


1) FS skills are not applied in space so why should the xp apply to fs?


2) Jedi in space that die lose no XP.


One would think if the two were put together the skills and death penalies would be in space. But since they are not it makes no sense to be able to apply pilot xp to FS

1) I heard luck and vehicle have an effect in space, didn't tested it since i don't have them


2) If you need FS xp you're not jedi yet... Do you lose FS xp when you die while grinding ? No So why would you lose it in space ?


I don't (and never did) ask for any advantage in space for FS... I just want to be able to grind the way i like it... Well, more like the other could grind the way they like, I'm almost done and will be before this ever happens.

If you need to get xp to become Jedi, that don't have any roleplay reason at all, it's only to be time consuming... If it takes the same time (and I'd like more time) in space than on the ground to get the same amount of FS xp, then why not ?


And for the xp, yes, I know it doesn't work the same... Just need to set the right ratio, and it will be good... Plus if you have to be grouped and not afk to match the amount of xp you can get on the ground, that in itself would give a reason to allow conversion
