Some people can't play the game for a few hours every day for 3 weeks to get the xp, so what takes big time grinders 3 or 4 days to do, will in fact take some people 3 weeks.

Grenades are fast if you find the right spawns, and everybody can use them. Not a big deal to make them if you dig the ingredients yourself and have a factory or two.
Docs and Rez, it is the only way they will ever get a line unless they want to spend half their playing time running to and from the village. Medical cap is 80000 xp, that is the equivalent of 8k FS xp. Just imagine what combat players would do if the combined xp you could exchange MAX with all weapons xp and combat xp would give you 8k FS Combat xp. As it is now, we easily get 900k weapon and 90k+ combat in one go which translates to 60k+ FS Combat. And 120k FS Combat or more if we have double masteries (like TKM/MHS). Docs just don't feel like making at least 7.5 times the number of trips to the village that combat players do all because of an extremely low medical xp cap. (And I would assume that 15 times is a better estimate of actual gameplay unless doing Rez.)
You are dead on - going the med xp route would just take way too long. As a master doc I decided not to go that route for exactly what you said. Now in retrospect, I wish I had kept my commando line that I had way back before the village since that would give me another combat prof other than TKM to gain xp. I can cap TKM in about a full buff session unless I find an uncamped spawn (which is rare) then I can cap faster.
The problem is, as has been stated before, is that many of us are simply not able to game for 3-4 hours straight, or more, each day to gain the xp for a branch. Well, we can if we want to end up in divorce.
I think in reality, many of us just want to be able to get through the village and then get back to playing the game. I personally am looking forward to my 2nd character slot opening and doing some neat stuff with that profession wise that I didn't do with my main. I do think however that for those in my camp (who had no free unlocks and started the village from scratch) the CU, while it will benefit the game as a whole, really has us worried that the ability to gain xp will be severely nerfed and those who aren't finished with the village by then will be crushed in their attempts to do so. That factor alone is driving many players to grind as furiously as possible now while the current system is in place so that at least they'll have Initiate by the time it hits.

Well only my £2 worth
I read all about the grind and have unlocked my first tree. I seem to get bored after about 20 mins of grinding the squill cave.
I will try to unlock the trees asap but i dont think i will get the xp needed in the next 6 months, i like like playing too much
what would people suggest as a place to grind, i heard the rancor valley or the squill cave are good
since i have cam back ( was away for 6 months) the number of jedi now has gone though the roof, i never used to see jedi in the old system and now most poeple are onway to becomign jedi

I actually saw quite a few jedi back in the day fighting in the open before they revamped them. Maybe thats just bloodfin. Jedi that are fooling around out in the open will be dealt with anyhow eventually.
Also, I used to do the Strooper spawn. I was only tkm, so I couldn't bank enough xp to make it worth it, although its good for loot. Got alot of faction. My only problem is that you have be focusing on it to do it because you have to keep chasing down those darn troopers. I would rather just walk into the center of lair and hit my grenade macro personally. I make 400k a buff session doing that. Shrug, i only need 800k more fs xp and im done anyhow.

Had no free unlocks, ground out everything with no grenades. Was MSwords/Doc, did solo groups on Dant. I started out hunting jantas and mooks for the loot and easy experience. Then switched to Huurton Stalkers. Was getting roughly 75k experience per lair, 2 lairs a trip, each trip took about 15 minutes. Thats about 600k experience an hour, so was able to cap in about 1-1/2 hours. When things are going good, could cap twice in a buff, easy.

How do you max weapons exp that fast? I'm a FS TKM and it seems to take almost the whole buff session for me. I do it as fast as Ican. Maybe I just need to try harder but there seems to be a way of doing it. Even the Corellia base trick doesn't let me cap in 45 minutes.
squill cave
squill cave is always in heavy use, and camped
Yeah theres always 1 or 2 jedi killing everything and saving nothing for anyone when im there

using grenades i can cap (300k combat) in 3 missions, thats 100k FS. I can usually get 3 caps per buff session. whats killin me is the travel time to the village to trade in andthe BF. I wish combat capped at 900k, i'd be in heaven...LOL

rogue city.. but its always camped by imperial gankers.. i really can't see why they do this, its like imperials have gone from DC gods (which they where when i joined ) to sniveling sods.
i've been playing over a year or more now and it saddens me to say imperials are now stooping to the worst possible ways to stop people (rebels) getting jedi.. a sad sad sad state of affairs

Grenades do enable new people to become jedi that would otherwise. I think I could say that the average person wouldn't max weapons once a day without "grinding" therefore to make it in time they would be forced to usegrenades. There are also those that don't have the resolve, and have 5 trees left a week before unlocking 6 phases. I have someone in my guild in this situation. Because he can afford to buy enough grenades, he'll have his jedi a week after the 6th phase is over. Many of these people that use grenades, would other wise give up on the grind due to the amount of time that it takes.
I feel that grenades should be nerfed. People complain about the jedi population all the time. I think it would be nice if there were less jedi, but I believe that anyone that puts in the "time" deserves one. If you have a familiy, or children, or are attached to work, then obviously you have other priorities. Those that make this game a priority how ever pathetic they might be should be the ones that end up with the jedi.
