Thread: Jedi? What about Witches of Dathomir and Sorcerors of Tund?

Oooh, that's actually really good to know, Lemming. High-5-stars to you! (Five less troll-posts I'll be able to ninja-star, but that's ok, I've got more).
So this means I'll still have to sacrifice from my master pistoleer, smuggler, jack-of-all-trades template to get real Force powers, huh? Kinda a bummer, but I guess I'll have to eventually choose between my life as an adventurer and one as a Jedi (using term loosely). Maaaaaaannnn, I want more skill points! =(

At the point of becoming, lets say a NS Rancor Tamer you are able to train rancors as mounts, and as you make NS Elder you can have faction pets like Rangers and stalker.
Also the clothing, hair, and face changes. The witch seem to have tattoos on their face, they are in fact broken blood vessels from using the force.
there is a lot that can be done with players that are becoming FS, but do not want to be jedi.
Only problem I see with my desire of player NS and SMC, it would have to be restricked to the female characters.
very good post and topic and yes, you are not alone.

Jen'Tara... I seriously think you need to head over to bloodfin.org and download Kodan's SWG Profession Calculator. You will THEN see, that you can in fact have Jedi skills and "normal" skills at the same time. As a matter of fact, while you are training UP your Jedi skills you slowly drop your normal profession skills. Remember, every has 250 skill points to move around.
Please do not fall to that silly assumption that you must drop all your "normal" professions once you become a Jedi Padawan.
Depends on what you meant by "all the force powers". If you mean the entire section called Force Powers (with Force Lighting, Knockdown, Choke, etc).. then yes... you can Master that category, and still have enough skill points left over to be a TKM.

So, I could be a Master Teras Kasi and have all the force powers, just no lightsaber?
Pretty much yes. BUT, let me guess.. I'll still be a JEDI wont I? That is, forced to pick a side, forced overt, and hunted by every bounty hunter on the server?

Well, it WAS that way originally...

No... you are only forced to "perma overt" when you do the Knight trials. You could fully complete a Jedi template and never do the Knight trials. That is up to you (in other words, stay neutral).
Whether or not you're hunted by Bounty Hunters is a whole other ball game... called visibility.
Before Publish 9, you actually used the unlocked 2nd character as the Jedi. This is completely the opposite. Now, the character that does the FS stuff becomes the Jedi (or works toward that goal), and once you make it to Jedi Padawan, you can create a 2nd character on the same server.

SO you could essentially be a full Jedi Master and be neutral as long as you didn't do the trials, but if you use any force powers, you are assumed Jedi and bounty hunters start comin' after you?

No, it's not just semantics... If you are a Jedi, you CANNOT be a Teras Kasi... Jedi costs too many points... THAT is my point... one cannot be a Nightsister, because a Nightsister is, in effect, a DARK JEDI MASTER AND MASTER PIKEMAN... but they dont' USE their lightsabers... They aren't just pikeman... they have force powers... they are NOT jedi nor should they be treated as such, yet in effect they are just Jedi that don't use their lightsabers...
They can figure out some ways to make it work, but why must one be a master of a lightsaber to be able to do force lightning? They have nothing to do with each other, but as it stand now, you must master every tree to advance to the next level of force powers... So, why don't the Nightsisters use the lightsabers that they MUST be proficient with? Oh they are NPCs and so don't know how to use one...
As for abusing, well, maybe the combat "upgrade" will fix things, but honestly, this game has been broken since beta, and unless the devs manage to finally do what they tried to do many many times in beta, it will still be broken...

wouldn't it make a little more sence to say that they are Master Force Weilders/Master Pikeman(or anyother melee prof)?
that i think would leave enough Skill Points for all the skills. But i do think it would be cool to actually <underline>become</underline> a NS or something and get the robes to where, but would have to be females only for the NS, just to stay with the way things are. But it would be cool to make special NS LVA or PH etc, with special dmgs and maybe even DoTs but make them have to have a crystal they tuned so that they can use the force powers and install one in the weapon and make the weapons they craft only weildable by their crafters like jedi and there LS and crystals. That would be really cool.

- full Jedi Master? That has nothing to do with completing your skills template... that is done through the FRS system.
- use force powers within 32 meters of any players or NPC's and yes, you will gain visibility and you will risk ending up on the BH mission terminals
