Anyone with me in that It costs an insane amout of time to get enough XP built up to transfer it to FS xp? The requirements need to be lessend a bit don't you think??? Who else thinks so??
Shut the hell up, jez you damn noobs whine TOOOOO much, try grinding out 23 profession, then have them tell you they are switching it, man, its a joke now how fast people can get Jedi.
Not hard , combat professions take at most 2 days to master as any Jedi will tell you.
Hmm, that works out at 46 days based on combat profs.

Actually if your a working adult with kids and dont have the 80 bijillion hours to play you are at a huge disadvantage here and it will take forever to get FS done. I seriously doubt they will do anything to make it easier as the longer it takes you, the longer you play the game, the more $$ you pay them. I'd rather have the hologrind myself than these goofy things but thats just me.
I'm in a similar position... well, no kids yet... but I just got married, bought a house, and have a demanding career. After the past few weeks, I've concluded thatthe developers designed the FS system and Jedi for kids and people with no real life commitments.
Unfortunately, there's nothing else left to do in this game. The GCW is dead and I've seen everything the game has to offer.I didn't expect a cake walk, but I also don't appreciate the mindless xp grind that the developers turned the FS/Jedi system into. They showed absolutely no creativity when they created the new system.
I just can't see sticking with SWG and the mindless FS system when WoW or EQ 2 is released.

If you think it is bad for a combat profession, you should see the others..... I have my secrets where I ground 2 lines of XP in one phase (now mind your this phase is the sucky melee combat crappy quest, so that was frustrating). The sucky part is it is like folks said, sitting in one place and killing everything in sight. If you are a crafter thought, you may be looking at 120+ hours per line of crafting. If you try to do that each phase, it is like a full time friggin job, and at least a job gives you breaks
So here is the key to getting through the grind.
1.) Realize, you have to wait 3 weeks till you can unlock the next branch, so there is no point in rushing it unless the next branch is your last.
2.) Realize there really is not any other new content in the game that either you have not played a hundred times before, or spawns more than once a day, so there is not much better to do
3.) Understand, it sucks for everyone, so at least you have plenty of support around you and you are not uniquely getting screwed.
4.) Beat yourself up for not hologrinding, when it was actually easier and somewhat interesting, cause at least you got to try a new profession, and see some new combat animations.
After all that, you can probably pull through, and heck, in a week or so you can jump into space for a diversion, and get lost in bad heads up displays, and a decaying flight system!

For those who are not aware of it,if you group with a pet, any pet, you get the group xp bonus. You can't get uber missions but if you run across a herd of wild pikets ...
Droids work too.
