Thread: FS Skills are outrageous!!!!

To clarify, yes you ground out x number of profs to get it in the old system...but only five were required. The xp. total now far far exceeds the total xp. for 5 profs. Do the math, you will see.

Whilst there is a certain thrill in hunting and defeating anything and everything solo, I would prefer to group and hunt than go it alone. This is a multiplayer game after all.

Hunting in groups blows.
When you get your jedi and want to stay off the BH terms you better get use to hunting alone.

See I disagree that a casual gamer can't move through the FS boxes. I have a career as a call center director, work like 50-60 hours a week, have 2 kids and season tickets to the Illini Football and Ice Hockey games. I have a very active social life and I still find time to play the game. Some times it's an hour a night (after everyone has gone to bed), sometimes it's a stretch of 3-4 hours. Either way, I enjoy a balance between personal life and game life. Everyone is in a rush to be a Jedi and I'm not sure why. I'm not going to be the first Jedi on my server. I'm not going to be the most powerful Jedi on my server. Why rush it? This is a hundred times better than grinding through meaningless professions that I have no interest in. Yes this is still grinding, but at least I get to grind doing something I enjoy.
w00t go illini!!!
The new method is very time consuming but from the title of this thread I could not tell if the poster was complaining about how powerful FS skills are. I'm doing the FS skills on my non jedi because I want them (and in truth my Fencer / doc is better than my jedi even without them though it's less fun to play such an almost invulnerable charachter).
When the method was first leaked I said that I thought the leak must be wrong because simply doing 5 proffesions was way, way too easy even if you don't know which ones on average you only do 20 proffesions - and there are only realy 3 proffesions that take more than a day to master if you do it right.

Anyone with me in that It costs an insane amout of time to get enough XP built up to transfer it to FS xp? The requirements need to be lessend a bit don't you think??? Who else thinks so??
Insane amount of time ?
If you can play for 1 and a half hours a day and use grenades you can make 100k force xp doing huurton stalkers. Even if you dont sue grenades you can make 60k force xp by capping normal xp. By usieng grenades , since Radiant changed to phase 3 on Friday , ive done the melee accuracy quest and im already melee accuracy III.
So thats what , like 775k force xp , and im doing 260k evrey 3 hours and 20 min(I can cap my weapon xp ounce too if i want to travel to the village unbuffed) so that works out to be one buff session a day. You can do a tree in a week , 2 weeks if you dont use grenades and do one buff session a day.

The only thing that is hard with this new Fs sytem is to get any boxes that are not related to combat prowess or enhanced reflexes. but every time someone make a omplaint about senses or Crafting, some smart combat monkey are jumping forward and tell people how to grind combat xp afk.
fact - When grinding a profession, you learn something new, you explore a different aspect of the game even if you dropping it after gotten the badge and go for a new profession.
Fact - when you go around the galaxy collecting badges you get to see the game world, you migh discover things you didnt know about from before.
fact - with the new system you can go to the boards find a list of what badges you need, do those and nothing more. after the old man have vissited you the first time, you can go in an endless journey from dathomir to corellia to yavin and be jedi within 12 weeks, once you do you can continue going between Corellie and yavin4 untilø you have the xp needed to master jedi.
The truth in all is that the new prohect of the FS skills and the village is a so bad product that any company would throw out without second thoughts of it. Who here can honsestly say they would pay money for an expansion that included only the FS quests and the village, if there was a second option to get where you wanted?
The fs grind and quests have been given so little thought its scary.
I didnt start to play SWG before a few days before they patched to patch 9, and when they announced jedi was locked i didnt care. I had fun playing SWG, in fact i did 6 professions between patch 9 and 10 without any thoughts about jedi at all. I set a goal achieved it and moved on.
After patch 10 i set a goal as well, do those new FS quests. I had 75 badges i was a master explorer with 46 site badges. I had done the hero of tatooine quests and gotten myself a nice ring as reward.
I even opened a second account, cause i wanted a character that crafted something as a option of variety when exploring and combat didnt fit my mod. After patch 10 the force sensitive crafting seamed that something that could be a nice asset to try and accomplish maybe even the luck and survey in enchanced senses. but then i realise i need to tear down all my houses i can not have a factory up because i need all my 10 lots to run harvesters to gain the 25 million resources i need.
Before you come out and bark dont do it if you can not take it consider this . this quest is not about jedi it is about force sensitive quests and path, in fact it have nothing at all to do with jedi, if it had why does the old man return and ask you if you want to become one?
just becausei dont want to go to the university, i should not be allowed to finish college?
for the Devs SWG is a great product, i love the fact its player run, that players have to make anything from underwear to cities, but the force sensitive path is a crappy product, its a rushed and very little thought out product that to mee seam to reach a certain stage then it was scrapped and published as it was anyway.
If the goal is to limit jedi then make jedi hard as it can get, I dont care if jedi is a constant struggle to stay alive, i dont care if jedi have to kill their opponents standing on their head to get any xp at all for it, I dont care if a jedi dont kill another jedi every day they will be kicked down to padawan all over no mather what stage they are in. Cause all of those things would make less jedi, your new invention the Force sensitive grind quest is only creating less players, even those that dont get frustrated over it and quit are to busy grinding xp to actually play the game.
you would see that im right, just move the geno cave out to the village and put down a Cantina and a cloning center there, i bet if you did no one would ever leave the place.
SWG is a great game, but the force sensitive part is garbish,
Others don't seem to agree, but I think that's a fair analysis.
Currently:-
- Jedi are rewarded to the people who have the most time to play and are most singlemindedly set on their goal of achieving Jedi.
- There is no measure of HOW you play in a positive which gets you closer to Jedi, it's purely how good at AFK Macro'ing, Powerlevelling and sometimes exploiting you are.
How it should be! :-
- Lots of subtle quests, such as NPC's asking you for help or asking you questions, chosen at random from a large database, with Force connection awarded for correct answers and Force connection removed for incorrect answers.
- Visiting places of significance with the Force should award some Force Connection.
- Mastering Professions should award some Force Connection.
- Completing Theme Parks and quests should award some Force Connection, however not for Imperials, part of Imperial general Ideaology is that the Jedi should be hunted to extinction.
- When you become a Jedi you should not be able to safely reveal yourself as Jedi in public.
- Players should have a Jedi Friendly Tick box if they don't want to generate Sabre TEF, and visibility.
- Players should start out as a Light Jedi, who if killed, becomes a Blue Glowie, who can clone upon by spending AP, they should be able to get more AP by teaching live Jedi and also earn it by oing Blue Glowie Quests.
- If a player starts performing Dark Jedi acts, and reversing their connection to the force, they should become a Dark Jedi, who does NOT get to clone, and dies upon their last grace death.
- Players should be able to re-connect themselves to the light-side and the safety cushion of a Blue Glowie by changing the way their characters Act.
- The Force Bar should reflect a Jedi's alignment by it's colour, Green for A light Jedi, Red for Dark.
- Force Abilities should vary in power and choice according to the characters alignment, a 100% light Jedi should have powerful mind trick, force push/pull and awsome area heals. 100% Darkside should have frighteningly powerful Force Lightning, Choke and Drain.
- Dark Jedi should be the friends of nobody, not even other Dark Jedi, they should be able to be attacked by anyone if wearing their robes and Sabre, even other Dark Jedi, the Empire, the Rebellion, it should be extremely dangerous to play as a Dark Jedi.
What would this achieve? It would remove the borked FRS for a start, it would start rewarding players who play their Jedi in character, it would allow people who wanted the ultimate risk of perma-death to RP a Dark Jedi and taste the awsome power it offers. I would propose badges for Jedi who achieve 100% Lightside and 100% Dark Side and a Special Badge for players who manage to achieve both by changing their force alignment.
I've been flamed for this idea before and will be again, the main reason is some of the most vocal Jedi on the forum are actually MORE interested in being Ub3r and 1337 and pwning everyone than being Jedi... They used to be melee Stackers, now Jedi Knight is stronger so........
