Then I think you're playing the wrong game. Since you're going to quit anyway, may as well do it now and find something more to your liking.

Let me put that another way, you should be able to choose whether it is a challenge or whether it isn't, think of it as a difficulty selection. People who want a challenge can select Hard and people who don't should select Easy. People who want a slight challenge should choose Normal. (as in how it is now)
I'm not an RPGer, I don't like RPG's, I play to have fun. Working hard, having challenges, working for a long time isn't my idea of having fun.
Also, if it is time consuming, it is hard. Like I said, I'm not going to play this game for longer than 6 more months, it isn't fun enough to play longer than that. No game i've ever played has been that fun, not COD, OFP, MOH, Civ III, Civ II, Real War, Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Doom II, Splinter Cell, 007 Nightfire, Stronghold Crusader, Shogun Total War, Medieval Total War, FS 2002, FS2004,SW Battlefront,Rainbow 6, Halo, Halo 2, DoD, AoM, Galactic Battlegrounds, Age of Empires, Simcity 3k, Simcity 4, Majesty, Ghost Recon, 1602 A.D, Swat 3, WWII FS, Combat FS, Empire Earth, Bf1942, WWIIOL, Goldeneye, The Sims, Stronghold, Delta Force... None of them were fun enough to play longer than 6-7 months... There isn't any reason why this game would be more fun than those games... I'm just not as Dedicated as the rest of you are.

My question, as shown above is why does the path to Initiate have to be so hard and so time consuming? I am someone who would rather have Jedi handed to me w/o even 2 weeks of work. I am used to playing games that at max I can beat in just a matter of weeks, I just don't like the idea of playing this game for months and months NEVER beating it. I just regard it as a cheap way for a company to make money...
Here are the following changes I wish for the Jedi path, although I know that SOE will never even consider them because of the way companies are...
1. Phases should last only a max of 2 weeks
2. Novice professions like Novice Reflexes should only cost a max of 10,000 Jedi XP to learn instead of the rediculous 50,000 Jedi XP
3. There should be alternate, non fighting ways to become a Jedi
4. The trip to Jedi Padawan should only take about 5-6 months after becoming Force Sensitive
5. Bounty Hunters should not be allowed to hunt Jedi, or visibility should only be given if you show your robes/sabers in front of a non Faction member.
6. Conversion Rates should be lowered, weapons xp should be converted to Jedi XP for just 10:1 instead of 30:1
7. Jedi skills shouldn't cost any Skill Points whatsoever.
8. The 2nd Character Slot should be available to people who don't want the Jedi but just want the 2nd slot.
9. The Village should be less Grind oriented and more Quest oriented, Grinding just isn't fun at all.
10. Jedi should be the most powerful characters in the game, able to kill even Squills in just 5-10 lightsaber hits.
Those are only a few things that I think should be changed.
Sorry for the complaining, however I'm at the end of my wits and am not happy that I'm going to have to waste that much amount of my time to just get to my goal of Jedi Initiate.

I do expect Jedi to be handed to me. I've never seen a game so far from the Star Wars Universe as this one. I can list tons of reasons why it isn't like it, but you all already know.
my god man, did you get into Harvard without applying? did you get into the best law school in the country without trying, did you get your first job cause daddy owns the company?, did you win the state of florida cause your brother is the governor, this is the problem with people these days everyone wants something for nothing.... if you work for it youll appreciate it more, and SWG was not designed to be only Jedi, there are over 30 other professions, i suggest you do one of those and stop posting, we all hate you, shut up!!

I WOULD play other games, like COD, but unfortunately, it has stopped working on my computer, i've bought another cd, reinstalled it, etc... And nothing has worked.
I play this game for hte following reasons...
I don't HAVE to kill any1...
The people are MUCH nicer than other games who bash and flame any1 under 20 years old...
Guild members are willing to help you instead of being self oriented and selfish and wanting help only for themselves...
I don't see ANY point in PVPing, it's just your stats vs the other person's stats, it isn't your skills vs their skills... It's just like Pokemon or whatever other dumb elementary game younger kids play these days...
I would much rather have it to where I'm the one who puts the laser through the person's head instead of having the computer do it for me. It takes skill to get a bunch of headshots in a row, however we have to rely on the computer to shoot the person for us instead of using our own skills to do it. I've hit people who were falling down and killed them in 1 shot, that takes skill, however the CPU isn't able to go to the levels that humans are able to go.
Another one of my problems with this game is that you have to be within a certain range to be able to even hit the NPC... I have hit people from 800m with a rifle without a scope and without adjustable sights, it bugs me when I have to move to 60m to be able to even hit the NPC with my rifle.
I like how they added Architect (which is the REAL life profession i'm hitting for in 3 years when I reach College.) and other non aggressive professions.
MY only issue is that it takes too long to kill certain NPC's and that the issue of Grinding even for professions is unnessicary.
I'd be much happier if to get to Jedi, you had to go through a Theme Park (that was like the Rebel park and with more delivery/escort missions than kill missions), however have it easier than the Warren or the Corvettes, but have it the hardest Thme Park other than those.
I also don't like how people can join the Imperial faction and get things like AT-ST's and Stormtrooper armor while us Rebels don't get anything except cruddy little soldiers...
I love this game other than the fact of grinding and how hard it is to kill certain things. Also with the fact that POI's are in locations where they shouldn't be and that planets like Corescant, Hoth, etc... aren't included in the game.

oh and noth, your acting more like a troll than anything, and trust me, I KNOW about being a troll, I used to be one...
BTW noth, I DO work hard, At work, and at school...I work hard there because I get money and I get good grades, things that actually matter in life.
Video Games are just a form of entertainment, I've used cheats my whole life, I don't cheat when I can't, I only cheat if it is in the games options menu and is not against TOS. However these modern games like BF1942, COD, WWIIOL, SWG, etc... All have it to where you can't use cheats. Which makes it hard on me, I live w/o cheating because it isn't fair if I do... However in the absence of cheats, I think games should have an option to where you can work hard or don't have to... Like Halo2, based on your skills, kills, wins, losses, you are placed in a game with people of equal skill so that you don't have to work hard to win... which is how this game should be, things like becoming jedi, etc... should be based on your current skills instead of making you have to rise up beyond your capabilities to accomplish that goal.

you know what i have gone perfectly well in this game without PvP, its not my favorite activity, but there hundreds of things to do on a daily basis, i just wish you would stop bashing it cause you want an easy road or you lack imagination.... this is the second whiney post in the last 2 weeks you have placed online... the same complaint and you have gotten abused and flamed the same way both times... im sorry to come down on you like this but grow up, focus on what you really want, find another in-game goal, or find another game
and you do have an option of not working hard... you could run around doing whatever you want to do in the galaxy at anytime you want, the rewards are not the same of course, but i am sure you'll find some pleasure in any activity that you set your heart to.

Why should I care if people hate me? People's opinions of me don't matter, my reputation doesn't matter. I am who I am, I can't change that, if you don't like me, live with it, i'm still here and I will be. I could care less if you or anyone else don't like me just because I don't like a challenge and just because I like to express my opinion. However I DO expect you to respect me and my opinions.
Like I just said, I don't care what your or other people say about me. I have expressed my opinion and there is no fault in that. If you don't like my opinions and ideas then live with it.
Do I care what people think of me or what they think I am like? No. Do I care if people hate me because i'm a Christian? No. Do I care what people say about my opinions? No. Do I care what people think or say about me? No.
What I do care about though is how people treat me about my opinons. I don't take very well to people bashing my opinions just because they don't like them.

I don't consider myself a whiner, whiners DEMAND change and won't stop crying until they get their way. I'm stating my opinion, and defending it.
I also believe that when you don't like a way a company is run or does things, you complain, but you just do it once since they don't listen to you anyways.
I would set a new goal, but it is very depressing to me if I don't acheive the goal. Besides, most people in my guild are on their way to becoming Jedi and I feel very left out. I was happy when I entered the Village because I was a member of the people who made it that far and who made it to being Force Sensitive. I felt like I was a part of something, similar to the way I felt when I joined my guild. I don't want to satisfy for just being Force Sensitive and failing in my goal of becoming a Jedi Initiate.
However I WILL try my best to become Jedi Initiate and try to have fun doing it. I just don't like how time consuming it can be.

SniperRedFox,the eighth thing that u'd want thay actually do,just ask costumer service and the no BH killing jedi would be horibble,the enitre game would be ruined cause jedi r very powerful so they need to pvp or BH difficulties,therefore(i've always wanted to say that) the BH thing is very good plus that gives the jedi a lot of xp.o and one more thing,jedi should be scarce so it should take awile
