Thread: is anyoen else goona cry in EP3?

Compared to most of the other people who posted here I'm very young. Only a teen ager with memories of watching SW on VHS in 1995. Good memories of sitting on the floor, fire lit and fast forwarding through George Lucas's comentary (which i still haven't been able to sit down and watch lol). Then the music starts and my dad reads the openning text. SW will live forever in my oppinion, perhaps not in its true form but we will see it for a long while after Ep. III. I will miss SW I know that, whether I will cry or not i do not know. But the visionary story, effects, and characters Lucas created will be remembered forever, and the theme music will be humed for generations as we show our children the movies that changed movies forever...(Not to deep?)

I won't cry, but I rarely do even if the situation calls for it. I'm just that kinda guy.
I will definately mourn though. My wife and to a great extent even my kids don't have the connection to Star Wars that I have, so my mourning will be a quiet, lonely affair. But it will happen.
I have always been fascinated with it and this will be it's last great tale. Nothing, except perhaps Episode IV on the day it released, will ever reach the magnitude that Episode III reaches. It will be the end of an Epic Tale.
And like everything, if you have enjoyed it so far, you are going to be sad when you reach the end.

I started to cry when I saw the new ones. Not the same like the old movies, too much greenscreen sh!t. Thank god EP3 is the last one.

i have sincere doubts i will cry persay... there will be silent tears streaming down my mournful face that i can be assured of, but i am doubtful that i will burst into a fit of them.. i have been a very big fan of star wars since i was young, i was far to young to see it in the theatres when it first came out as in '77 i was only 3 years old but i do have my own personal memories of them bringing the movie to my home towns theatre, the movie was "return of the jedi".. it was the very first time i had ever gone to a theatre ..and i had gone with the one person in the world who til even this day means more to me then anyone else ever will in this lifetime.. my daddy (hey i aint afraid to admit i was, am and always will be a daddys girl

)Anyway, it was the first time i had seen any star wars movies but knew a bit about it, as my daddy had models of the ships hung all around his room.. he was a very big star wars fan... i remember seeing the wee little bundles of fur dancing about the screen, the lights the thrill, the adrenaline rush, to this day i still can think back and literally feel the sensations that passed through my then little body.
Then came Darth Vader, my first sights of him and i was sold.. okay so i have always been a dark spirited girl but Darth Vader literally had me in awe, was not many days after seeing the movie with my daddy that i actually started collecting the toys and my room ended up lookin like a boys room full of all the star wars action figures and ships and lots and lots of ewoks surrounding and (some of them) looked to be worshipping the best figure in the movie, Darth Vader!
so no, i don't think i will cry waterfalls of tears, but i to know i will mourn the loss of SW from the big screen.. i sure hope Lucas changes his mind.. i mean yea so you can get burned out but come on... star wars needs to continue and live... after all... star trek has and star wars is FAR better in my humble opinion then trek ever will be.

i admit to getting teary watching the full trailer...from the excitement of seeing the jedi get their asses whooped, and ever more dark Anakin, the Emperor wasting on Yoda. Hahaha good times. Finally some Dark Side love. Cannot wait for the release, will be lining for first showing, to be sure
Off to view the trailer once more before bed.
Glad to see some "old-timer" star wars viewers around

There will be a series for TV based on Jedi Academy.
That should be interesting. (JA is 7,8,9 for those who dont know).

yeah sadly you are wrong. I remeber watching an interview on him and one on Harrison Ford. they asked Lucas if he would do any more SW movies he said "No" and then if he would let someone else do them and he said "No" and then something about he made the movies for his kids not the fans or some wierd crap, bottom line he said no.
on the harrison Ford issue, they asked if he would do another SW, he said no. because Han Solo is such a one dimensional character, but he would do another Indiana Jones.
what theheck is that, Han a one dimensional character? whatever, i lost my respect for Ford when he said that. but who knows maybe someone will buy the SW rights after Lucas dies off and make more. look at Bond. Flemming is long and dead but the 007 saga and movies live on. In my opinion Lucas is a selfish ba$tard. look how many times he's messed up with the original re-releases and how many fans complain. oh well.

I was 13 when Star Wars hit the screen I remember the thing to do back then was to be the one that saw it the most. Get all the toys, comics, lunchboxes, etc..
When SWG was announced a friend and I (rabid starwars fans) were drooling over the magazine with the screen shots... When open beta was announced we signed up imediatly.
Beta came and went we were a little dissapointed on how they rushed it out and somethings weren't attended to but the game was still fun and yes it was STAR WARS
then the Jedi thing came along rumors were flying on how to become one etc... Even though the timeline only 2 existed but hey we suspended our dispositions on this because hey you never know and yes it was plausable more jedi escaped the purge.
Then the holo grind came more and more players became Jedi. More and more people played Jedi completely different from what was seen on the screen even if they were light Jedi.
I admit at the time I joined SWG beta to the time it went live I wanted to play a Jedi. However the more Jedi I seen that were uber leet dudes and their attitudes turned me off of wanting to play one, and to be lumped into that catagory... In fact the reason I write this is, no I wont cry to see the last movie Lucas will make for STAR WARS... I'll infact because of this game and the juviniles that play Jedi, cheer everytime one goes down in the movie. I'm sure some in the audience will be like, what is his problem. heh but I can't help the way I feel about this. I dont think there should ever be player Jedi in the game. I am now on the path to grind Jedi because I want a second character slot and not have to pay another 12.00 a month to get it. Unless of course they decide to give 2 year vets a second slot without having to be a Jedi then I'll drop all progress to getting one.
No I don't have sabre envy I could care less really, it only limits my ability to do the things I really want to do in the game due to lack of sufficient skill points.
