Thread: God dang. Shutup....
I agree with the OP
The time gate is not a problem the problem is the fact that you have to mindlessly grind instead of enjoy the game experience.
Hence why they should turn Jedi character into a vet reward.
The people who complain it took them forever, get the satisfaction that not everyone gets to be a Jedi faster than them and thus not feel like they wasted their time. Just because you thought it was worth doesn't mean everyone else thinks it is worth it but we, those who feel the grind is not worth it, would still like to play a Jedi.
Keep telling players to quit I see it about 5 times a day on these forums. One day you will log in and realize that yep there are no players to play the game. It is happening right now and you are contributing to the demise of the game rather than supporting the game.
Here is the run down. People want Jedi to stay the same or become harder so they do not feel like they got the shaft. However, the majority of the people do not want to spend hours after hours after hours killing the same thing. You can do that in WoW and get a much better game experience and gasp other people who are playing the game.
I have already quit the game even before my inital 30 days are up because if I am going to play a game I want it to be fun. If I am going to grind I am not going to grind in a game where they take any speed out of it. I can play Jedi Academy online for Xbox to get my Jedi fun. Sooner or later a new SW MMO will come out something Sci-Fi that will take it's place.
To the OP:
I would recommend you quit and stop giving SOE money. Or if you re truly genuine you can contact customer service via the phone and let them know your concerns or email them into a feedback group. They will most likely not care about what is on the forums since it is for the community.
Good you have a social life and that is the true MMORPG that is gasp actually an RPG lol.
Jedi = for elite snobs who think everyone should suffer just like they did
The game needs to bring back fun. Everyone thinks Jedi are fun and want a glowly stick. I would be more than happy to grind with a glowy stick rather than doing it with an uber CL80 template. If they made getting Jedi easy then dwindle people out with the grind to get to decent or even better than crap jedi that would be more fair. Just let people get to the Jedi and give them the fun.

Wow. Just... wow.
I don't know if its just me, but whats wrong with the 30:1 combat exp? Jedi was never supposed to be a walk in the park, it was supposed to take time. If you want realism, take a look at what this game is based on. Jedi start out asyounglings, they start at like 5 years old and don't get anywhere NEAR becoming a true Jedi for years. Okay, so completely unrealistic in the game, but that is the realism of the game we play. Jedi was never intended to be something that you HAVE to get, its, as someone said, an option. There are plenty of other paths to take in this game. Its already been stated that there are already too many Jedi in this game, that I believe will be one of the reasons for the 30:1 conversion to come in. I really wouldn't be surprised if permadeath makes a come back either.
If you wish to pursue the role of a Jedi, then know that it WILL take a long time. I play probably 2 hours a night and I have just completed unlocking 6 lines. I have done my grind time and its taken just over 2 years. I think I have explored a lot of what the game has to offer, had a lot of fun and done a load of quests, with more to go. I hate, with a passion, power grinding, but thats just me. Each to his own. IMHO, 30:1 is a good thing. Yes, it will take me a LONG time to see results, but I will enjoy the game more, do more quests, more exploration and eventually I will get my Jedi..... and I'll be damn proud of the work I have put in.
This is my humble opinion. I don't expect everyone will agree with it, but its just my point of view

Jedi is not restricted to powergrinders. I am a casual player, a professional who needs to spend more time working that just 9-5. I have a life outside of the digital box, a family, small children, a mortgage, obligations. You already play more than I am able to.And my character is aJedi.
It will take you a longer period of time to get to where you want to be, but you*will* get there-- and I hate to say it, but it's been said before, if you think FS is long wait until the Jedi grind. And the grind isn't the worst part, yanno. When your guildies say "let's go kill Nightsisters for loot" or "come help during Phase 4"you have to say "No,NPC's give me visibilty, sorry". When you guildies say "come help on Kashyyyk" or "let's go hunt Krayts" you have to say "No, sorry, I've had to drop my non-Jedi elite combat skills but I don't yet have any high-level Jedi skills, so my CL54 Jedi would be killed by a nuna". You have to keep saying "when my template is done, I can have fun again." You have to keep telling your friends the same thing. It sucks so bad some days.
If you want it, you can have it. Posting these BS impatient"I want it all and I want it now" threads isn't going to get you closer to your goal. It just stirs up resentment and impatience in everyone else reading it. It's not about who deserves it. The grind is what it is. Today, you do what you must to attain your goalbecause there is no other way.
If you want it you can have it. You just have to "keep your eyes on the prize".
Well, as we all know, this is a game. And all games have rules. You know the rules. Ether follow the rules and play the game, or if you do not like the rules, do not play the game.
Sometimes the rules are modified , if you do not like that, this is America , you do not need to give them your money. We still have a choice. Sometimes I do not like the changes ( have left the game and have come back, I have the choice) but we play buy the rules ( well , not everyone , thus the reasons for many rule changes ).
Do you have the right to drive, many people are trying to say it is a right. Hell no. You pass a test, several , and then you can drive. You still have to buy the car (and if you are in an insurance state, buy insurance).
I do not remember anything about jedi being a starting profession or even easy to get. If you do not want to put the effort to get a "prize" then fine, you do not have to try. Otherwise , do not tell the designers of the game how they should run their game.
If you do not like it and you are so business savue, then you can make your own game and steal all of SWG players.

THATS the problem. noobs like you dont understand... you dont HAVE TO do the grind. you can do it slower and actually enjoy the game. get in a grind group every once in a while, but also do quests and stuff like that.
Hence why they should turn Jedi character into a vet reward.
are you an idiot? tard

jedi are better than normal people. in video games, the stronger players and boss players arent given to you, you have to work for them and to get there. SAME THING with this game. work to get to the better players.
if you dont think its worth it, DONT GRIND JEDI! that simple, there much more to do in the game... kash, dwb, pvp, the new quests they unlock, themeparks, space, etc...
Keep telling players to quit I see it about 5 times a day on these forums. One day you will log in and realize that yep there are no players to play the game. It is happening right now and you are contributing to the demise of the game rather than supporting the game. i doubt people saying go ahead and quit are the reason. there are always noobs coming in, and if you want a populated server, go to BRIA.

ok, we all know killing bols and pickets is boring and not how it really should be.
again, if you are too much of an idiot to try a more populated server if you want, say bria or bloodfin, then shut up. if you like WoW more than swg, what is there stopping you from playing that???
I have already quit the game even before my inital 30 days are up because if I am going to play a game I want it to be fun. idiot noobs like you who think that the boring grind to jedi is the only thing in game are the ones who think it is boring.
YOU DONT HAVE TO GRIND, NOOB. sooner or later, meaning in like 5 years from now.

that wont do anything

ive seen so many noobs at jedi, who suck at the game, know nothing about it, and are still asking noob questions.
lets suppose you unlock jedi after 4 months of grinding. now, all of a sudden they make it MUCH easier or give jedi out as a vet reward. how would you feel? you wouldnt like it, and so many would quit.
