I thought they already patched this, did they not? Are you still able to place merchants and drop the skills?

Test....

You are no longer able to maintain vendors you don't have the "Manage Vendor" skill to manage. That has been fixed. They are talking about abilities you get in the hiring line. Currently there is no check to see that you still have skills for vendor types you get in the hiring line or that you have the skill to have a "uniformed" vendor. (That you have given items to wear)

There are some who feel this is an exploit to use these vendors after you have giving up hiring. I'm less sure about that myself becuase I feel that unlike "management" which is obviously an ongoing skill "hiring" could be reasonably argued to be an event skill that is only required when you hire or clothe the vendor.

In any event name calling and over emotional responses aren't helpful by either side.

The Pilot Professions dont need any Skillpoints at all. Smuggler/Pistoleer.. yes. Creature Handler, Pistoleer, Smuggler probably not becasue of Skillpoint requirements. Atleast not all at the same time Mastered.

one hint.. dont ask about the whin0r.. err.. Jedi in this Forum if you dont want to get /Pie'ed

Hi! I just started to play this game a few days ago. I'm sort of a newbie but I'm doing alright if you ask me. So this is a question that I find hard to get respones to. My plan is this: Become a imperial pilot. Advance to Smuggler and Pistoleer. Then when I'm ready I will try to become a jedi. Can I be all theys 3 proffesions without exchanging one to another? Oh and can I become a Creature handler,Pistoleer,Imperial pilot,Smuggler and THEN become a jedi? Thanks for all your help guys!

Yeah We don'tcare fortheir kind around these parts.

Jedi you have to drop normal profs for, or you will suck at EVERYTHING.

You can master pilot with no problem and no hinderance on anything else. As for the rest, you'll have to pick two of those to master. Should you choose Smuggler and Pistoleer, you will still have a decent amount of SP to novice either Jedi or CH. But you cannot master three of those. And if you want to be effective as a jedi, you'll need to eventuallydrop everything (except pilot) to do so.

edit: However, should you get Jedi, you'll have a free alt. You could use your original character to fill up with Jedi xp and then use your alt to master two of the other professions.

Don't listen to the nay sayers

Each profession takes 100ish skill points to master. You only have 250. This means you can only have 2 full professions mastered. Jedi itself is 5 seperate professions, so you can never 'master' jedi.

I'm a smuggler with some jedi skills right now and am stronger than a plain ole smuggler, though on par with a smuggler that has TKA and Doctor skills. If you want to be a smuggler with jedi skills you just have to pick the jedi skills that compliment you best. So no lightsaber. And you can dabble or master a single jedi line. I'd recomend dabbling in defense and healing.

Don't listen to him, the Jedi are not to be trusted.

They are most defiinitely NOT to be trusted... for I am an uber triple master!!!! Smuggler/Pistoleer/Marksman... huzzah for the triple master!!!! And with enough skill points left over for a little Commando action and three force sensitive skills...

Anyway... you can 'be' a jedi AND a smuggler... but you won't be 'da uber' because you'd have to drop all your 'mundane' skills eventually to have a fully templated jedi build. Except for pilot, which is like 'free skills'.

Regardless, if you're planning on going jedi, check out the 'Force Sensitive' forum stickies on the guide to getting glowy, the path to padawan, etc, etc. Just so you know what you're getting into.

I have 5 trees unlocked ....only took 2 years. LOL

I trained every box in each tree, taking up 20 skill points. With 3 weeks until I open my 6th tree, I was wondering if I could surrender a few boxes and retrain when I unlock box number 6.

Thanks!

No, you can't drop FS skills. If you train them, they are there forever. Choose wisely.

Not true.

You can even change your FS boxes after getting Jedi, as long as you unlock and train a 7th tree before dropping one. This is difficult, since Jedi experience doesn't convert, but if you have experience saved up, you can do it.

Ahh, you are right. Forgot about that exception!
