Well leave everyone to their vices I always say ^^
Just on a sidenote, no offence, but...
I have tons of time to hunt with my friends (love Krayt and NS hunting) when I finally get online while people doing it the "traditional way" on the other hand *have* to spend at least 3 hours a day to reach their quota of experience points per phase.
Trust me, spending 6 hours in a row doing spin attacks on a pile of rocks isn't really more exciting than throwing grenades on said lairs making some nice explosions, that can drive your parents in the next room insane (Luv' that subwoofer)

I think its simple, if you have already unlocked all 6 branches you want then nades are for you. If you still have to unlock and wait till the phase change then Combat xp is you choice. No point in finishing and then waiting till the next phase to change. That will burn you out quick. I've done both, and now sticking to nades since i already have seven skills unlocked.

this is crazy, ppl spend millions buying nades just for grinding faster....read this: only with 60 k fs xp per day u will unlock Jedi in the exact time the phases take to switch, 3 weeks per tree, no need to hurry or spending money, just 2 hours per day and u will get in the sooner its possible, i have just started, only 1 unlock, i wont be a jedi until June, no matter i use nades or just TKM, think on this guys, u spend milllions on nades...and u wont become a jedi sonner than me, the only difference is ill have millions to spent on crytals and pearls, and u wont have any $
What's crazy is spending 2 hours/day. I've got the money, so I can spend it on 'nades. While you spend two hours a day, and the better part of a buff, I take two lairs, knock 'em out in 10 minutes each (I'm not rushing) then spend the remaining 2:30 of my buff having fun in Faction PvP or hunting "XP inefficient" animals, maybe runningthe 'vette, shopping, talking with my friends *in person*, recruiting for the guild, getting/selling loot, dabbling in a bit of Doctor buffing/crafting, killing a few stormies, etc. All that time, you're pulling Stalker lair after stalker lair then, when you're done, you have to go get a SECOND buff to do the "fun stuff". In 3 RL hours, I've done what it will take you 5 to do. With the 2 hours I saved, I can ride my bike, walk the dogs with my wife, read a bit, work in the yard, etc.I don't have to numb my mind killing huurtons and I get far more enjoyment out of the game, all because I spent virtual $ I've earned over the past year (or from selling my 30k resource deed (which took 5minutes total)). Rarely do you get the chance to spend "monopoly money" and get Real time. In my opinion, if you're got the $ to do 'nades, it's foolish to do otherwise (from an "RL Time" perspective). If you're a kid/student, this may not make sense, but when you hit 30 and your time is worth $30-40/hour, you'll understand
And as for you having $ left over when you hit Jedi, so will I. About $4mil to be honest

was wondering if you could answer this question for me,
Im thinking of grinding up the meele speed tree with imp detonators.
My current template is Mswords/Mdoc.
Do i need to got 3000 commando for it to be effective, or can i keep
my current template and still benefit from useing the detonators?
Can i even use them at all with swords/doc?

Can't use 'nades w/o Master Marksman. Can't use Imp Dets until Commando 3000. Yes you can use them as a Swordsman, but there are only so many SP...

Only if you're grinding to Commando 3000, otherwise they're pretty low dmg. Still, I guess I did get 200k combat in 2 hours grinding to Commando 3000 with C12's...

pros for nades:
- only 50 (or less) village runs
- less time for whole grind
- after spending one month or so on grind
you can get your favorite template and wait
for phases to unlock all 6 branches
cons for nades:
- you need 25mil or so to spend on grenades, buffs, armor, etc
- you will not be good at anything else besides grinding. your template will suck in pvp or hardcore environment (DWB, Vette, etc)
pros for regular grind:
- you always have your favorite template
- you can switch from grind (which you gonna hate)
to pvp, hard core pve, etc while still making some
grind
- you don't need much money. in fact you will be
making money for your jedi
- you stash pearls and resources for jedi
- you will be less bored
cons for regular grind:
- it will take LONGER. you will have to make
at least 100 village runs to dump exp
I am 67% done with regular grind and I am still on time to get enough FS exp to unlock when I get my 6th branch. I have some pearls stashed, I have enough mney to buy more and most of all I am not bored with grind because every time I get bored I switch to something else other then grind.
good luck.

I finished my final branch using Swords, Fencer, and grenades. I would cap both professions at 900k then finish off the rest of my combat xp on baz nitches while I worked my way towards the village. Worked out pretty well for me, and I retained some measure of sanity because I wasn't slowly throwing my mind away with each grenade (no command skills here).

You, im master swords and Tk and alls im going to do is max out both at 900k which is 180k combat exp and just fight until I max out combat exp. That equals 160k FS exp for one and I can probably do 2 in a buff sessions....

i use imp dets and some times not power uped but i found out a way to get 250K combat in 20mins. I got 550k FS XP today gringing straight the whole buff and i only kill 2 lairs for the 250k combat xp. I guess you just have to waste 3 hours of you life on the game every now and then to get that amount of XP but it is possible......

Wow.... Most I can get is 80k combat xp or so per Baz Nitch lair.... 70k or so for Hurton Stalkers.
Please tell me what lairs you are grinding to generate that much combat xp!
I agree the faster the better..... More time for RL activities is key people.... You will go insane otherwise... IMHO
