In around 4 or 5 days i ground out 2 trees in persuasion using doc , using a rez/kill macro, that was sweet too bad i didnt do the rest like that instead i unlocked a crafting tree and picked up DE 0002, takes like amost 2 hours to cap and i only get about 35-40k of FS xp.... it'll be better once the village switches over to phase 1 and i can actually craft in the village.

Also did 2 combat trees with swordsman, tookquite a while to do them, but all you do is make a macro that spams area attacks on the lair, alt-tab out read the forums listen to music, and tab back in every once in a while to see if the lair is destroyed. If you use an AT-ST for a solo group , you still get the max payout for the missions and the missions still have around 75 difficulty. slower than grenades but you actually make money grinding, instead of losing millions except i bet you spend more on resources doing the crafting grind, and its a hell of a lot slower.... basically i would not suggest unlocking a crafting tree, useless i tell ya.

I started out throwing nades as TKM/commando 4000, then quickly realized how much cash i was going thru. Imp detonators and Thermal's can get costly really quick. So I dropped commando and went TKM/Master Doc and threw C-12's at Voritor Hunters on Dantooine when I realized I could cap nearly as quick and just as often. With a good solo group I could cap combat xp on 4 lairs. Thats awful quick. My guildmates didnt believe me tilthey tried it andwere amazed as well.On my server C-12's are around 15-25k per crate and powerups are around 3k per crate. Not cheap by any stretch of the imagination (unless you have a weaponsmith alt) but much cheaper, and every bit as effective. Gave me plenty of time in between phase shifts to hunt crystals and pearls, pvp, basically get away from the grind for a bit and enjoy the game.

Yes sir. Just target the lair, as the critters will all be aggro on you, so they will be in the blast radius. Just pull out 10-12 nades before hand, always best to keep too many as you may get lucky and get some other types of critters around the lair to join in and lend their lives to your FS grind as well, and power them up before hand.

You can check some of the grenade grind tips here, they are really good and pertain to any grenade really. I just found that Grassland Voritor Trackers worked best for me. Some folks swear by the giant baznitches, but go with what works for you. Good luck.

ok you need to go to dathomir and get 2 baz nitch lairs.... they have to be AT LEAST 300m a part. Go to the firt lair and kill the first 2 spawns ( 10 baz nitches) then stop and go to the next lair and do the same. Go back to the first lair and kill all 3 spawns and the lair.. then go to the second spawn and do the same.. thats a total of 50 bax nitches ( 25 per lair) at about 5k per kill. I usually get about 250K to 294K a run and can do it all in 20-23 mins..

Glad to help post again if you have any questions.

I find it amusing that people claim that RL is important to them .. yet they play SWG.

I decided to stock up the exp needed for FS if I ever decide to go that route... (since I have nothing better to do lately).

What I find interesting is I've had more fun throwing grenades at stuff than BH'ing in the past couple months.

btw, this FS grind is sooooo easy compared to other games I've played. I've played games where you got "skills" to increase your toon, but they were random...like a slot machine. Can you imagine the time it took to get a 99 skill? it took forever.

So believe me...there are LOTS of things worse than FS or the bordom of nades.

I gotta confess that this thread keeps surprising me. What's so amazing is that people continue to insinutate that there's more than one "con" to doing grenades. Let me put the record straight:

Real Cons:

Only 1, price. And it's NOT a con if you happen to have a lot of money.

Fake Cons:

You'll have a shallow template.

Please. This is the biggest load of bull ever. I have the template I like. If I give up about 70 SP to do Commando 4000, what's to say I can't spend the time I save after I get all my FSXP going back? If anything, the grind will weaken your template because you'll have one that's got even more SP in "XP harvesting" than mine. When I finish my FSXP grind in a month, I'll spend the remaining 4 weeks methodically tailoring a template to help my Jedi, instead of keeping some prof because it helps me grind XP.

You can't get krayt pearls.

Got news for you, if you're grinding XP, neither can you. Krayts are terribly inefficient XP given the effort. If anything, I'll have more pearls since I'll have more time to focus on non-FSXP quests like krayt-hunting.

You'll go through multiple sets of armor.

Ever hear of repair kits? You can do the grenade grind with one decent set of comp.

You won't be able to dungeons, etc.

Again, see the krayt issue referenced with a weak template.

You won't have any money left over

Um, wrong. I started with $25mil. I'll have about $18mil (or more) when I'm done. All it takes is working out a deal with a WS.

THERE IS NO CON TO THE GRENADE APPROACH OTHER THAN THE MONEY. Don't pretend there is. Call it like it is. The grenade path is the most efficient way.Period. It only costs money. You can actually spend MORE time doing the things that will help you with Jedi because, unless you're crazy, there's not much good to be had for Jedi from killing a million Huurton Stalkers. ANYTHING you can do, I can do 4x as much since I more than quarter the time needed to get the XP. No matter what, you will spend 4x as long in the Xp grind (NOT helping your future Jedi) than I will. YOU WILL NOT REACH JEDI BY HUNTING KRAYTS OR DOING THE VETTE. You will HAVE to do mind-numbing, low-difficulty lairs...

Don't hate something because it's easy. Just because you're doing something the hard way, doesn't mean you should be jealous of those that do it the easy way with money. Plenty of "Grenade grinders" will hand you your Jedi butt in 4 months (as you will them). Just do your own thing, be happy with it, call out the *true* cons of the other approach and move on. It's all good in the end, 'cause you're never gonna put "got myJedi in Star Wars Galaxies" on your resume. It's just a game...

1. you can't pvp with commando template. you will suck big time - Comment: Yes, I agree with you on this. The worst thing about Commando is the fact that it's borked for high-end PvP. Depending upon your individual template though, you still *can* PvP, you just might not be as effective. I actually managed to get ina good deal of PvP during my grenade grind, and although I didn't feel up to "full strength", I really wasn't as handicapped as one might think.

2. you can't solo krayt with commando template - Comment: Yes, you can. Very well, in fact. One of my better in-game friends has a pearl-hunter template to support his Jedi, and he solos krayts all the time with his Commando/melee' stack. Get a few high speed flamers to stack your bleeds, and then switch to melee' if tanking is necessary. Granted, he is not grenade grinding (anymore) but if you build your template right, you can very easily use Commando to krayt hunt.

3. I have time for PVP, Krayts and dungeons and guess what. I will unlock as soon as next phase starts so I can get my 6th branch filled with stored fs exp. oh. And I never had novice marksman nor used a single grenade. Comment: That's great and all,but PvP and dungeons were something I chose to sacrifice for the grenade grind. Not all of us have the same schedules, so for me the grenade grind was the way to go. I'm going to elaborate more on why Ichose the grenade grind below.

btw. I work and have family. I play after my son goes to bed so my play hours are limited.

so basicaly I was having fun (pvp, pve, dungeons, etc) all along FS grind.

The primary "con" of the grenade grind is the money and resources involved. You're going to be dishing out a couple million for your grenades unless you somehow already have the resources. If you're a combat-only player like I am though, you likely won't have the resources lying around. The other cost-issue involved here is armor. Expect to break at least two suits of composite armor (chest plates and boots especially). Now I have some cheap armor vendors on my server, so this is no big deal, but, it is something to be figured in.

Will you have to sacrifice your current template? Yes, unless you're already Commando of course. Is the sacrifice worth it? To me, it was, and here's why.

Using Thermal Detonataors (Imho, these are infinitely better than Imperials) I was able to hunt giant baz nitches and pull in no less than 500K Force Sensitive XP in any given buff session. Sometimes I got very lucky and pulled in 600 or 700K, but those were rare occcasions (wild spawns popped and stuff like that). Even at 500K, that's almost HALF of an entire FS-branch in one buff session.

I had fallen behind in the FS grind, because real life was simply too important to allow me to steadily grind in the normal fashion. By the time I got back in the game, I needed to play catch up. The grenade grind was the obvious choice.

I don't care what anyone says, but there is NOTHING faster than a Thermal Detonator grind. Will you be bored to tears? Yes. Will you have a smaller bank account? More than likely. Will you have to drop your current template? Most likely, but bigdeal, because when you're done, you just GRIND IT BACK. Will you have to isolate yourself from other activities? Yup. But guess what, when you'rea padawan...you're gonna be lonely anyway, so get used to it. If anything, the grenade grind is a warm up to having your Jedi, imho.

As far as I'm concerned, all of you Swordsman junkies can go do your melee' grind. That is your choice, and I respect that. But seriously, stop talking down on the *efficiency* of the grenade grind. I STOPPED doing the melee grind because I found it more boring than the grenade grind in terms of repetition. Your grind may be more fun to YOU...but it's not faster...and that's what this post is about.

Once I was done with the grenade grind, I redid my PvP template into something new, and now I enjoy loot hunting, PvP, and roleplay without having to worry about FS-xp anymore. My method of getting my FS stuff was to bite the bullet, grind it hard, and get it out of the way. Now, I basically just sit back and wait, because all the XP is backlogged.

At any rate, do the grind your own way. I chose my way because I didn't want to have the FS be a concern anymore, and I managed to very quickly put that behind me. So, if you want it done fast, albeit, expensively, then choke on your pride, drop your template, get some funds together and get some grenades.
