Thread: bored of grinding

If your bored of grinding there are plenty of other things to do. RP, spend time with your guild, enter events, chill and chat with people, get some badges, explore....the list goes on and on.
RP - There is no RP in SWG if there is its very little. Sucessfully roleplaying players need a kick off or a booster to get started without it the only rolepay people are able to do in games like this is related to marriages (relationship) and combat and with the last RP mostly used as a excuse to kill other people. Sorry im roleplaying an evil character! Sound familiar?
Spend time with my guild- I do that frequently, but things are very much related to the first topic.
Enter events - Events are absent in SWG. Without player representatives like the guides they have in everquest this will not change. Devs and hired people within Soe do not have time to "play" and run events on a regular basis. This wont change im not considering an attack on Coronet once every halloween an event sorry.
Chill and chat - Going to split that up since its nessesary. Chill i do that all the time more and more lately i found myself sitting in a place waiting for a broken spawn to show up, honestly its not fun i dont pay money to sit and chill in a computer game i can do that elsewhere. Chat - chatting is ok, but lately people dont have time to chat anymore they are to busy grinding. and IRQ is free chat.
Badges - Have them all actually jope they give us more soon.
Explore - what to explore? have all badges.
just been krayt hunting, had the krayt kited away by some other looters.
I see what you're saying but i have done a majority of the quests and things already in the game, space really doesnt interest me at all. im just hoping there are some more challenging quests (no i dont mean dwb - there si challenging and there is ridiculous) cnatw ait to start on my padawan quests... when the old man shows up

You're kidding right? All I see is l33t d00ds with Jedi tags in this game. Casual gamers are the ones that are being kept from the goal of Jedi. Players who don't have 20 hours a day to grind out experience to be converted every 2 hours. Players who's entire night's play time was probably the time it took them to ride the 6km to the village on Dath. Those are the people suffering, the l33t d00ds are having a ball.

You obviously didn't do a full force sensitive grind then. Getting 6 lines to unlock the initiate quest wont be possible until 6 more weeks, assuming someone filled all the boxes with XP.
Getting freebie boxes would be way easier.
Now they have a system that does in fact force a minimum period before Jedi can be obtained by even the hardest of power gamers. I think its a good system in that it accomplishes that goal AND is universally fair to all players. I know people who unlocked in 6 professions and people who unlocked in 32 professions. Luck is not fair.
Is the system hard? Yes. Can it be boring? Yes, if you let it be. You control how you feel, take stock of why you are feeling bored and change it. It's not the game, its you.
"end game" content. The system isn't really that much different than going through the professions. The quests to unlock the FS branches are ok. The only problem is in order to move forward you have to grind xp. Lets say that after the FS unlocking quest you had to do FS missions or quests to gain FS Skill, then it might be a little more interesting. But to use regular XP and convert it is boring. All it does it force people into old hologrinding techinques to finish professions, except now its for converted XP. So instead of people blowing through professions, they are keeping one profession and doing mindless missions. Great SWG community! Pretty freakin sad if you ask me.
