Thread: bored of grinding

i have 1 box left to get.

i cant be bothered to be honest.
The grind is depressingly boring. I've done nearlly all the caves, themeparks and other activities.

The old method was far better, because you would change profession and try something different, in the old method players would find a profession they liked then would go back to it.

now everyone is a jedi padawan, a combat prof, an entertainer bounty hunter or a doc.

The game has been killed, there are no longer group activities - EVERYONE is in a solo group grinding xp and after they will be in solo groups grinding jedi xp.

was this an elaborate scheme to buy SOE time to think up some ideas..."I know lets send all the players of on a massive grind so they will forget about the mass of lacking content within the game"

People used to say the game is what you make it, you get out what you put in. I've put alot in and I feel, like many others im getting nothing out of it anymore. The goal of the game now is to grind, grind and grind instead of have fun and enjoy playing. no one spends time playing anymore thye wnat the guides and answers so they can get their jedi quicker. From experience its a long boring grind. Most of the FS stuff you cant really tell any difference anyway. I wish I knew this would kill the game back then instead of feeling "why do i bother?" everytime I log in.

I agree , the hologrind was nice till you finished ur fourth holo , then on to the silent one...

If you had to grind through 32 proffs you would have a lot more bored ...

I ground 24 professions and never had nearly as much trouble keeping myself going as I have since I started this method. I wish SOE hadn't have deleted my character while I was taking a break from the game.

omg your complaining about the FS grind

*remembers the FS grind and wishes the jedi grind was half as easy as it*

you think your grind for fs boxes is hard and depressing.
just wait till you get that 6th tree and complete your padawan trials

May the force be with you.....

theres always the option of just going and doing other stuff in game instead of grinding fs, once in a while i just go and do pilot or go to different caves, or shop and spend what ive earned, or do some activity with the guild im in. yes every once in a while you need to take a break.

That's what I do. After all, grinding is a choice, isn't it?

If you can peel away from that "acheive at all costs!" mentality, you'll find it alot easier to just let it come in it's own time. Just grind when ya feel like it, and don't when you don't!

Just stop with trying to make being a Jedi quest-like Devs, you ruined it already. Insteadmake unlocking Jedi a reward system. You master one elite profession and one starting profession and you unlock Jedi, or you play on one character a certain amount of hours or days and then you unlock Jedi. This sorta makes sense because you'll be forced to learn what's going on in the game before you become a Jedi.

And the whole BHs hunting Jedi is stupid. Did we miss the part in Ep. 2 where Jango got decapitated (rather easily I might add)? And he was one of the best BHs ever. Only people I've heard in the expanded universe that can take on Jedi are Teräs Käsi and The Morgukai and other Jedi of course, there's probably others I just don't know them.

the grind killed the game for me. I have been here since launch and never really grinded. I mean I would do the same thing to get XP for a few days, but I never actually grinded. Then this village thing appears, and for the first 3 phases I went about my business and did what I usually do, I ended up collecting a whopping 1 box. Not to complain because I knew I didnt try at it. But then I started grinding. Collected the second and third box in a week and was working on the forth when......I killed the game. I can no longer log in, not even to do things that I find fun. I have reached the breaking point and I believe I am actually finished with the game. Very sad too, Ihad tons of fun, most of it in the summer of 2003 when the game was extremely bugged. But for the first time since launch about 3 weeks ago, I grinded, and I killed the game for myself. This was a terrible addition to the game, I believe it is worse than hologrinding. Where are the fun quests that we were promised?

I believe that a break is what I need, might reignite my fun, might not. But I am taking a month, maybe 2 off to play WoW. I am testing the CU on sandbox which I am actually excited for and I will test that to my best abilities and beyond to unlock this games hidden potential, but from the live servers I will take my leave of absence and become a pansy little NE hunter.
