Yeah, I did it from 10,000 meters away and I had to carry the sith commander in my arms all the way. No problem at all...

I'm sick and tired of all the people who keep going on about how HARD jedi should be to get, and how easy it is compared to how it used to be. That may be true but It's not one thing, It's not fun. The one thing a GAME should be. Holo grinding was alot more fun. So stop putting people down who get frustrated. The devs are the ones who suck and made a great game boring.

If I had known, you could only take one quest per phase and couldn't abort it, I wouldn't have taken this mission. It is IMPOSSIBLE. You can't escort the captain back even with someone trying to kill sith for you because one he walks tooooo d&^^%%%^%n slow. Even if you manage to get a shield generator for the closet base, it's over 3000 meters away! We spent over 2 hours escorting and only made it 1/3 of the way back. 2 rancors took us out. Even at us at level 80. He runs away if you get more than 10m in front of him. And if you get more than 2 npc's attacking you your dead. The commander runs off and disappears. I know the dev's don't read these forums, the suits certainly don't. Why listen to their customer base, they know they have the only mmorpg for Star Wars fans out there.(called a monopoly) I only continue to play because of the online friends I have made. So all I can do is warn everyone else when you go to the village do not take this quest! It will be a waste of 3 weeks of your time as you won't get your force sensitve box opened at all.

This quest was one of the most tense things ive ever done in swg.. which is a good thing
My buddy and I were like .. O M F G when we got through the gate and it said we completed the mission.. I belive we had 4 mins left due to screwing up and walking in avoidable ditches..
When we got to the mist wall I was literally on the edge of my seat thinking to myself "If that bas**** dies now.. Im gonna go kill the guys at SOE that came up with that idea"
Needless to say.. we finished it.. I built a shrine for my sunriders crystal and mind buff crystal out of torches/free standing lamps/sith ores

It is hard. It is tough. Timing is everything and planning is essential. But it is well worth it, and when you finish, it is a big burden lifted. I did it my first time out. But, I had a very good team, that was well coordinated, used vent, and we rode into the village with oodles of time to spare. It can be done, it is not impossible. You must know the route you are going to take, and everyone in your team must know their part.

LoL at the poster.
I've actually failed this once, and completed this quest five times, due to my character being bugged when I died on the mission mission, which bugged the quest. Completed it three times afterwards and didn't get the reward, so logged a ticket, got the quest reset, went to Iota, and completed the mission.
Each time I had 2 - 4 people with me. The mission's hardest part is the initial break into the base, but the turrets take loads of damage even from me without any ranged skills. ICOB/TKM armour means I can tank five or sixSS without an issue. Mission was thoroughly enjoyable, it does get boring doing it for the fifth time mind.
Great mission, remember doing it for the first time with a friend on his first attempt and the commander died, and we all went completely quiet on comms, and had a bit of a moan.
Why should it be a hard mission to do, if it's nearly impossible, then provided it's bug-free I'm happy to take on any mission provided there are just rewards for doing it. Stop whining, play you character, or stick a lolly in your mouth and watch Teletubbies....

Easy trip back, just time consuming. I ran 70 meters ahead, waited for him tocatch up. Rinse, repeat.
