This quest is extremely easy if you know what you're doing, one helpful tip is:
CONSTANTLY keep selecting "Follow Me" option from the radial menu on the Commander..Do it as often as possible..If you still can't do it then there's somthing wrong with you lol
, don't blame the mission when so many people have already done it with ease, and even soloed it! hehe, just my thoughts.
I finished it with time to spare. It's best to do it with two or three people. The group that I was in that did it, two of us were working toward the mission, had a MBH, Master Rifleman and a Master Smuggle, Combat Medic. My character is a Master Swordsman and Master Fencer. It work fairly well. Two of use equiped Rifles and attacked the turrets, while the CM healed us. Then the CM lowered the shields and then we went to work on the SS (Shadow Sith). The rifleman provided cover fire while I ran up to get the commander. After that, it wasa quick walk back to the village. I escorted the commander, while the other two provided cover fire when the SS attacked. The trick with keeping this guy moving is to make sure you don't lose site of him to long or he wanders. I was consantly telling him to follow me.
The hardest part to this quest was finding a remote to one of the closer bases. Then waiting and hoping it won't be ganked from you. This happen the 1st time that we went to do this. We began the assault on the base and someone else lowered the shield and to the commander. The other group was nice enough to give us the remote to another near by base once they completed the one they stole from us.

If I had known, you could only take one quest per phase and couldn't abort it, I wouldn't have taken this mission. It is IMPOSSIBLE. You can't escort the captain back even with someone trying to kill sith for you because one he walks tooooo d&^^%%%^%n slow. Even if you manage to get a shield generator for the closet base, it's over 3000 meters away! We spent over 2 hours escorting and only made it 1/3 of the way back. 2 rancors took us out. Even at us at level 80. He runs away if you get more than 10m in front of him. And if you get more than 2 npc's attacking you your dead. The commander runs off and disappears. I know the dev's don't read these forums, the suits certainly don't. Why listen to their customer base, they know they have the only mmorpg for Star Wars fans out there.(called a monopoly) I only continue to play because of the online friends I have made. So all I can do is warn everyone else when you go to the village do not take this quest! It will be a waste of 3 weeks of your time as you won't get your force sensitve box opened at all.

I finished this quest...It took me 5 attempts due to stolen missions and instant death by the turrets. It's not impossible it's just damn hard. If you had read these forums at all during this phase you couldn't have missed ALL of the posts griping about how hard this is and how they can't finish it. It started on day one and will continue until the Phase Shift. Maybe even longer if people feel they got screwed out of their quest, which I'm sure some people will. Oh and by the way to have a monopoly they would have to have the only MMORPG on the market, control all the things needed to make it, and not allow competition to enter the market ( Which SWG would be incapable of doing even on it's best day). Stop complaining, it is a pain but there are plenty of people have completed it and many more will this phase.
For me, this is one of the best quest I have ever completed. I loved the challenge that it presented. It forced me to create a plan and work with my partner.
At the end, after preparing to do the quest for two days, I completed it with 30 minutes to spare.
This is not an easy quest. It is hard. If you are going for Jedi, this is the type of quest I would expect you to be able to do. It definetly requires advance tools and resources and a good knowledge of the game to complete.
3 cheers to SOE for getting this one right and thanks for throwing something at us to take us away from grinding.
