Ok for boxes they are the 4 recatangle things that make up the trees. For example TKA 3/0/0/0 would mean 3 boxes done in the meditation branch. Once you are at 4/0/0/0 then you have 4 boxes to complete the 1 branch of the tree.

So for fs stuff let's use the Combat Prowess tree. 4/0/0/0 would mean you have completed 1 of the 6 branches to complete the village. (that is 4 boxes in a row that make up the branch)

Sorry to burst your bubble but you have TREE confused with BRANCH.........in your explanation. Everyone knows that a TREE consists of 4 boxes within a BRANCH.....for example...combat prowess has 4 TREES, only one of which you can go up per phase.

Other than that....your explanation is superb..

A question and a /bump

I get the branches and the boxes simple enough but, do you have to master one of them? ie reflexes 4/4/4/4 + master box 640 ap points?

I dont think you do but I have 4 branches unlocked already and dont want to wait another cycle so just checking.

Your wrong man. Think of a tree. It has branches growing from it, right? Branches grow from trees not the other way around. Lets say, combat prowess is a tree and has four branches growing off it. The prof is the tree and the skill sections are the branches.

Goodclarification there. I have a pre-pub 9 unlock and the recent announcement that our main will not have "free branch unlocks confused me".

You see I can access all 4 trees and its branches on my main without having to do any of the phases. All I have to do is grind the necessary xp provided i turned in the 50k xp for each tree that i wanted.I had thought that this was a free branch unlock but by your explanation, the 4 boxes filled in each branch was what the devs meant by the free branch unlock.

This is exactly why i made this thread because as you can tell this person confused tree and branches. Sorry to single you out but this is why so many people get confused and argue because they misuse the terms. I say misuse because I am sure you know what to do but using different terms confuses people. And yes i am correct in how I described it so please, if you can, don't post things saying i am wrong in terms because it will confuse people once again.

ok, so it seems there is still confusion about this, so here is a nice picture for you.

------------------------------------combat prowess master----------------------------------

| ranged accuracy 4 | | ranged speed 4 | | melee accuracy 4 | | melee speed 4 |

| ranged accuracy 3 | | ranged speed 3 | | melee accuracy 3 | | melee speed 3 |

| ranged accuracy 2 | | ranged speed 2 | | melee accuracy 2 | | melee speed 2 |

| ranged accuracy 1 | | ranged speed 1 | | melee accuracy 1 | | melee speed 1 |

------------------------------------combat prowess novice----------------------------------

box = ranged speed 1
branch = ranged speed 1, 2, 3, and 4
tree = combat prowess, all inclusive - the purist sense of a tree is all branches to lvl 4 + master.
for most purposes, a tree means combat prowess novice + some boxes and/or branches, i.e. working on the combat prowess tree

Bug fixes. Heh! Smuggling. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things.

My SWG Observations

If they stopped the expansions for one year and gave quality revamps to the professions that need it most, many people would resubscribe.
With all the resubs, and the new players, there would then be plenty of money to hire enough people to do 2-4 quality revamps per year plus 1-2 larger expansions per year and/or 2-4 smaller expansions per year, and not give the BigWigs a pay cut. (Possibly even an increase)

Sorry if I seem like a dim bulb but... can you unlock and train more than 6 branches? I ask because once my Jedi template is done I will have 5 SP left and would like to spend them on some crafting FS points. I will fill 6 branches but would also like to dabble in 2 others. Is this possible?
