Thread: Do any FSXP grinders feel the same way I do about the CU?
if you want jedi in a month and have some cash to blow, like everyone tells u, get 4-0-0-0 commando and get grenades. i'm not kidding, this is your fastest path to jedi. if you say "well why should i waste my time changing my template just so i can grind FS faster..." well i say to you. don't bother complaining and whining about being jedi-less. NO ONE enjoys grinding. so you decide whats more important to you here. Grind hard for a month and spend tons of cash on nades if u are able to. Suck it up, and in a month, you TOO can have jedi.
i've been FS for over a year but was always too lazy to change to commando. i wanted to keep my uber melee stacker template. then finally i just decided jedi was worth much more to me. so i gave it all up, gave up a month of my life to grind FS. and my work has payed off.
so i guess what you should be thinking to yourself after reading this post is: Am i sitting on my butt expecting Jedi to fall into my lap? or am i putting everything i've got into reaching my goal. and if your answer doesn't resemble the later in any way shape or form...then you've got what you deserved.
my two cents. i'm not accusing the original poster of being a whiner. but i know MANY who do day in and day out. so lets quit the whining folks. SUCK IT UP. and when you do, and finally get your jedi...congratulations.
thats the end

This was originally going to be a reply to the "If we really wanted to keep Jedi rare..." thread, but I'm wondering how many other people busting their @ss just to unlock feel the same way I do. So here goes:
Funny how the people who already have Jedi are, and always have been (since original holo grinding) the ones to come up with the crazy ideas like: "Let's make them complete 100 quests at one quest per week cap!"
You've joined the hundreds who already have a Jedi and all of the sudden you are a strong proponent of closing the door. Honestly, it makes you all look all too Republican. (Wealth for everyone, until I get mine!)
As someone who has been playing (and more importantly PAYING SUBSCRIPTION) since day 1 and missed both occassions to unlock by just a hare: (Was on sabbatical for the easy hologrind, Work and a haywire computer stopped me about nine months ago at 14 professions, would have unlocked before the Village patch.) I've got to say that I DESERVE, (yes you heard correctly, DESERVE) a fair shot this time, without interruption, at unlocking my Jedi. (i.e. another FSXP, village quest, FS unlocking system change.)
I've got three more trees to grind, allow me that, allow us all the chance to grind what we've got. Do not change xp, do not change the system, if you want to penalize the Jedi population to make them more rare, penalize the existing population, for once, instead of the myriads just trying to unlock to experience Jedi a little, not to become an uber Master Jedi killing every normal player in his or her path. (After the grind to unlock, many don't have it in them to keep grinding to Jedi Knight.)
Making existence as an actual Jedi more difficult I can live with, tugging on that proverbial carrot AGAIN, I and I know many others, will not.
I can only follow that carrot so far, if SoE intends to make me choose ANOTHER year of my life grinding away just to experience Jedi, or simply no Jedi at all (after I've already worked harder than most of the L337s some of which only had to grind at most, 8 professions.) I will cancel, I will simply cancel. In that instance, it's would not be worth it to me, thanks for wasting my time SoE, ciao.
It's not like there aren't other MMOs, I can always try The Matrix Online, or maybe I can take up golfing. Lord knows even that will be more exciting and take less time than an EVEN LONGER FSXP grind. :-P.

1. Not ALL Jediwould agree withthis.
2. You don't deserve anything because YOU are doing this at your own expense and because YOU want to.
3. If you are not having fun with this, what makes you think you'll have fun at Jedi?
4. No one likes to see someone quit. Don't give up. There were times duringmy grind when Iwas thinking ofthrowing in the towel, but each time Iwent to convert xp, I remembered that I was one step closer to mygoal. Obviously, we really can't do anything about what the devs decide to do.However, when you are pushed, push back! And since we can't really push and beat the devs up, push back by finishing this grind.
No one can hold you back, but yourself.
Having spoken to some of the Jedi of my galaxy, the Aurilian quests and the grind for them is a joke compared to the grind for Padawan and the nthe grind for Knight, much less if you're a 1337 and want Master. If you're complaining about this grind, you shouldn't even attempt Jedi. If you can't handle the grind for your 6 trees, don't bother trying. I am a FSXP grinder right now. I've almost mastered one tree, and I've unlocked 4, and I've been FS sincelast November. Don't GRIND it or you get bored. I do grind a lot, I get in a solo group, buff myself, and do Enraged Rancor lairs. I LIKE it. Do it so that it's fun. If you can't grind the xp, then just play the game until you get the xp. Sure, it'll take a while. Want a Jedi? It's going to take a while no matter what. Stop complaining needlessly. It takes up space on the forums, it makes you look selfish and inconsiderate, and it takes time away from you for grinding. PLay the game. And remember that's all it is: A GAME
/huge agree
I do the commando4000 'nade deal to power grind my fs combat branches and I actually enjoy it. To me, it sometimes turns into a mini-game in itself doing those missions. I don't solo (just group with a pet razor cat), so i still get full cash payout. When i get to a lair sometimes i have to 'save my 'nitches' by attacking other creatures or npcs which may have been aggro'd by other creatures. Some people may find this annoying and slow but i enjoy it. Nuthin like using 'nitches as tanks for rancors then after it's dead, turn on the lair so they all attack you, hehe. Get rifle xp for the non-nitches and 'nade/combat xp for the lair. I like getting 30k combat xp and 30k rifle xp when i go out.
Point is, make it fun. Jedi were never meant to be at the number they currently are but as a game it's going to happen. The CU is going to make xp harder to generate so people spend more time actually experiencing their prof andcombat instead of power grinding to master so they can gouber pvp or FS grinding...so...THEY ARE NOT NERFING THE FS GRIND...directly. I say, if you want to grind out fs xp while it's still easy go commando4xxx and take ADVANTAGE of the way it currently is. I don't really want to get Jedi quick or anything, I just want to bank as much as I can so that I won't have to worry about it post CU.
6.5 more combat xp caps and then 2 Senses branches to go...

the grind for Padawan is not "hard" it takes 8 hours...
Nades are the ONLY way to grind besides the Rez/DB macro....
afterwards XP will be hard AND! no more nade grinding! hooray! (or so i hope) What do you have against grenade grinding? What's the problem? And sorry to say, grenades remain in the game in the CU, and they still give only combat xp. So "nade grinding" remains as a viable option for those casual gamers who wish to get a Jedi at a slower pace, but at a decent level of progression, or for the power gamer who wants all of their xp in a couple of weeks.
Nobody gets Jedi in less than 6 cycles of the Village. No one. Unless they hologrinded, in which case they've earned a fast track to the finish line. I continue to fail to see what the problem is with grenade grinding. It's grinding, it's expensive, who cares - still took 6 cycles of the Village to get the Jedi.
the grind for jedi should not be TKM/Commando 4-0-0-0 or a rezzing doc... why not? What difference is that from an AFK Dancer or Musician, or a BE, or a Scout, or an Image Designer? Grinding is grinding. However you do it. It's doing the same thing again and again and again and again3,777,231,300 times. Who cares what professions they have or what actions they perform. Grinding is grinding. actually if you didnt use nades, i believe that you would change your outlook... and yes.. FS grinding is a joke, thats why many of the elders want to change it to be quests which NO ONE can grind out in 2 days!
Don't take the high and might route of "i didn't use grenades, you'd see if you didn't." The fact is, you got 1,225,000 Force Sensitive xp times 6 branches, and anywhere from 2 to however many Novice boxes at 50,000 Force Sensitive xp. Who cares how fast or how slow or however you got it, you got the xp.
The fact remains. It takes 6 Village cycles to get Jedi. No more, no less, unless you were a hologrinder. Your rate of FS xp does not matter, you're gated by the Village cycles.
