Not very difficult for a Master of a combat profession, andquite fun if done right.

There's just the little aspect of being able to play for a few hours a day to make that a reality. I am one of those for whom the time constraints make that a fantasy. What virtue is there in one method over another? None, both ways you are playing a game and heading towards a goal. Your path there will reward you in the manner you enjoy. For me, the 'nade grind makes the FS XP at a rate I can actually notice.

Not everyones the same, some people can face the grind day after day without flinching. These people will make good office workers or programmers

While the intent of the Dev's was to give meaning to the path towards Jedi, they should have known that if it involved grinding xp, then grind xp is what will be done. The phase thing was a good idea on someones part, to put the brakes on people, but still...I see little difference in grinding this way versus grinding professions.

There are some improvements. Getting +20 ranged or melee defense at a rate of +5 per skill point is quite nice. The quests in and of themselves have been fun and interesting for me so far, some more so than others. Ihave the grandaddy of them to take on in the next phase, the Melee Accuracy quest which sounds like loads of fun. In terms of raw xp grinding, the only difference I note is that rather than grinding 20+ different professions, you are grinding the same professions 20+ times. Nice for people who never wanted to hang up their chef's apron or flamethrower or dancing castinets while on their path to Jedi.

I'm on the nade grind, and even that can be entertaining. I've had somany SMC and NS visits I'm going to have to break down and buy cookies from one or the other group eventually, the little darlings.

Dragging out the FSXP accumulation isn't a burn out, sitting at a computer lobbing grenade after grenade at Baz Nitches is....

My brother is back to the game after around a year. He was a burn out, a victim of the Hologrind who finally gave up after 20 someodd professions. He was one step away from glowing after the Revamp and yet still walked away. Now that he's back, he's a few badges away from Jedi Padawan. He's also a Wookiee, which is one thing I haven't really seen yet, a Wookiee Jedi...once he hits the village, his free unlocks will put him right at Padawan, or one line from it which we all know is easy to get...

I don't want that to happen to me. I really enjoy this game and would hate to burn myself out. As it is now, when I feel the burnout coming on I'll step away for a few days, go fishing or just hang out with friends or even just veg in front of the TV...

Sry I just cant agree with this either, heres my reasoning.

1. I would hardly call logging on everyday to get 60k FS XP fun, rewarding, or even a journey. We all know the path to jedi isnt exactly the most fun quest based system we had hoped for....I dont look at this game as a job, and like any sensable person I took the "easy" way out. None the less it involved work and quite a few million credits. Credits that I busted my ass to get as a ranger when I created my 4th character to date.

2. I actually found using grenades to be a change of pace, I had never leveled something using grenades. And for the first few buff session it was actually quite entertaining with the addition certain background music. Hardly at all was it a burn out, only at the end as I was finishing my last amounts of xp.

Who in their right mind logs on everyday to work on FS XP? Because in the end when u reach paddy I dont think it will be anymore sweeter then those who ground out the xp and had to wait for village unlocks just as long as those who did it without grenades.

Quick comparison of how I see it, pretty straight forward and simple. Two people racing to the same goal or finish line. One person takes the path that is straight and is relatively flat. While his competition chooses to go all the way around on a path that is whinding, rugged, and steep.

Everyone who didnt use doc rezzing or nades can think they are doing the village how it was meant to be, and earning their jedi more fairly. While if the devs had a problem with nades/rezzing they would have nerfed it a long time ago, infact I am completely surprised I had the chance to cash in on the oppurtunity. I feel I havent cheated the system in any way, rather taken advantage of all the tools made available to me. I even learned a more effecient way to grind combat xp, which I used to master swordsman later on...You are all entitled to do as you want but you are no better than anyone else grinding in the village just because you chose the longer path.

although I don't have trouble capping out my med xp every
it is very hard when you consider us doctors who have to either do the DB res thing (although that way is very very expensive) or do it the buff you animal way (thats not as expensive but tkaes longer)
anyways i just go out have fun. ususally buffing people on dant or where ever.
still tough though. i only play a few hours a week and i'v eonly unlokced one tree. and filled just one box
it will take a looooong time for me to get there but thats ok. i just enjoy the game

...I have been trying to naturally grind this Exp since the Village came amount, and to be honest, I've only been able to get one box(Yes, box, not tree) filled. Maybe close to be second box now...(Another 175k one...Not the next 250k).

But now, Im really leaning to grenades, even though I don't even have novice marksmen anymore, and remembering how HARD it is to grind up the base professions...

I have to sincerely disagree with this point because we are back to scheduling. Even with the highest end content in order to get 180K of Combat XP per day without using nades you have to kill 360 creatures which takes some serious work. What you are basically saying in your post is the people should log on and do this every day for 18 weeks (if they are going to stick to the method of keeping up with each unlock they do). That is over 120 days of playing for 3-4 hours a night or more (about what it would take to get the 180K Combat Xp normal ways).

For those of us that don't have the time what is wrong with knocking the timeframe we are dealing with down to a more manageable 40 days (assuming 120K FS Exp per day) by using the grenade method? I have a job, I have friends I like to hang out with and I have other interests such as going to the gym, biking, etc.... and would much rather spend 40buff sessions of my time to get a Jedi than spend 120 buff sessions doing it.

This keeps being debated and it shouldn't.... Each person is unique and each person has their own schedule and desire for getting a Jedi. I can't tell you how many times I have heard people belittling those going after Jedi and acting as though they are better for either doing it the right way or not doing it at all. Fact is that no one in this game can tell someone else how to spend their in-game time and in-game money because they know very little about why each person's play-style is the way that it is.

I chose to do it the grenade way because quite frankly I want a Jedi right now (more for the 2nd slot than for the actual Jedi). In a perfect world I would have been further along towards a Jedi because I devoted myself to being a Weaponsmith for a year's time but because of the way SOE chose to implement things I got absolutely nothing for choosinga profession and sticking with it and doing it the best I could and enjoying it. I'll end there as I could probably go on more about it but my point would get lost in all the typing.

You know...I doubt that.

Has it ever dawned on anyone that someone grinding with grenades do so, because they are bored with the method described in the first post?

I picked up the FS grind because I was TIRED of hunting krayt, NS, Tusken Observers, etc. I had houses, yachts, vendors and bank storage full of loot. I have millions in the bank...and I know how to handle myself in combat...believe me.

So, I use the grenade grind as a fun way to gain XP and accomplish my goal, without having to further bloat my storage and backpack with loots that I don't need.

Interesting, eh?

In the right location, getting the 60k FSXP can be done in under an hour and a half total from log-in to trade-in. The key is research.

For example a lair of gaping spider hunters will spawn an obscene amount of these 5k xp, 500 combat buggers. Lets not mention the scout xp you get for harvesting and the insect meat you can sell....a buff will allow you to ignore the poison as it stacks....

There are many other creatures like this out there that will spawn huge amounts from a lair when milked, and finding one that suits your combat style just takes a bit of experimentation.

Some POI's respawn rapidly, allowing you to take the trip a few times....

Bouncing back and forth between two faction missions gives xp and faction points, not to mention loot.

On Endor, Dathomir and Dantooine, I can cap my chosen weapons xp in less than a buff session just by running around the planet.

But, if you want to use grenades, go to it. I'm only paying for my sub's, not your's, so go ahead. I'm just warning about burn out. Using variety to reach "enlightenment" will help prevent that.

I understand the different types of spawns and that there are many here and there. The key point is that doing it that way and doing it with grenades are both the exact same (Repetitive) so it shouldn't be a problem if some of us choose to do something repetitive for 40 days or 120 days. Some might say that the regular way is not repetitive because it's different creatures but if you break it down to the principles used in doing it you always come back to repetitive.

As for burnout, I will be more likely to burnout doing 120 days worth of some sort of grind than 40 days worth of grind. And the beauty to the grenade method is that I can take in some TV while doing it. Believe me I know that is not the greatest game-play experience but this grind is only the means to an end. At the end I get a Jedi and can put this man-made (read: SOE-made) obstacle behind me and go back to enjoying the game and accomplishing other goals (after accomplishing the Jedi goal).

Mad props to you!

I started my grind just doing what I do best with a pistol... which unfortunately doesn't allow me to do krayts, corvettes, or geo caves...

...but then I figured, based on the fact that I play only a few evenings a week, maybe I get a weekend a month to spend all day on it... it'd take me a very long time to get all the xp. I caved in and took the easy path ... NO! not to the dark side... (yet) ...I'll admit it, I am a 'nade-whore.

Still, I admire that you could do it all without the 'fast & easy' path.

Fast and easy path?
