Thread: How do you become a jedi?

Quental,

If youreally want to know what anyone else knows (and ALL that anyone else knows about SWG jedi except the devs) just visit the FAQ from the homepage and it has a jedi FAQ link.

The truth is that jedi are limited because of the setting of the game. Vader has hunted and killed them all and having a lot running around would ruin that setting.

Being a jedi is a hard path (contrary to dark forces I and II), and ALL players will have a way (different for each) to unlock the force sensitive slot for a new character with a jedi skill tree. It is and shouldbe the ultimate achievement in the game to become a jedi, not something you can do on day 1.

Here are the steps:

1) Spend $$$$ to buy the game

2) Subscribe, pay a monthly fee $$$$, and pay to play for at least a year.

3) At some point there is a slight random % chance that you will find the key to the force powers slot.

4) Play the lottery, you have a better chance of success.

Its a gimick to get you to play longer and pay longer.

Dezreale if you are going to needlessly flame someone, first off you should probably do it before other board members recognize the post as a relevant question, especially for the many people who haven't been following the game closely. They look at the box, it says they *can be a Jedi, so they go home plug in and then realize why there is the little star next to "can". I'd probably ask too,now of course this person probably should have read the FAQ, but maybe they thought that some players would actually know HOW to become one.

Regardless, my second point-You should at least use proper conventions- evenwhen you are just popping in for a quick flame -it makes you seem like a lot less of a moron.

I'm not superstitious, I just don't step on the cracks, Ok?

I would have preffered it if, if/when the FS slot became available, it was for one of my existing characters - not a whole new person to play. Also, can you still have an existing character on the same server you choose for the FS character?

It should be the character you have played that becomes eligible for FS, not a brand spanking new person... or have I got it wrong?

If that character dies then you keep the FS slot but then must start a new character (i.e. can't transfer it to another already existing character). Should do it so that the new character you create is 'related' in some way to the one that died - even if it's just same surname or something or character look attributes.

Here we go again Why is it that when people see someone ask about something they don't have an interest in it's like open flaming season sure you may ot want to be a Jedi but it doesn't change the fact that it's a major selling point of the game from the box to t.v. ads and theres even a section about it on this site plus out of all the star wars games available now and to come why would I not want to have the option of playing a Jedi on the only version of a game based on the universethat I pay a monthly fee for just sounds plain stupid to me further more if you read SW novels you would know the Jedi began to resurface around the time this game is set no more than 5-10 years I personally would love to play with players who are here for the people because to be honest I personally got sick of going on missions alone getting in over my head and watching a group of animal handlers and surveyors walk by and refuse to help because there picking up scraps of metal or animal poop or someother silly thing games are about action and Jedi is the ultimate action class the super hero of SW and I for one don't think because a few of you don't want to use them the rest of the paying customers should be denied

I cannot stress how much people need to read the Jedi FAQ instead of blithely asking the same question here. No flame intended. Really, everything we can possible know is on the Jedi FAQ. People who state here that the FS slot goes to another player after death or that the FS slot is in any way lost need to read the FAQ. The FS slot stays with the player, but a new FS character must be started that has no experience, none of the gained skills, and none of the acquired or crafted items.

To become a Jedi: play the game as you naturally would. Enjoy the immense complexity this game has to offer. Be a bounty hunter. Or not. Be a gourmet chef. Or not. Learn how to mix all kinds of drinks, while building your skills in business so you can open and run your own cantina. Or not. One day you might be surprised and you'll log on to a system message informing you of your new character slot.

It is not a lottery based on your number. ANY player has the opportunity to become Jedi, even the casual player, but it will likely take longer. Please PLEASE do not be the person that spreads rumors that you read on another forum about what IS the way FS slots are determined. Qualified facts only please. Right now, since I haven't seen any lightsabers swinging, facts can only come from the FAQs (ack, sorry, bad play on words).

End sermon.

well the answer is simple.....first u do 30 jumping jacks while singing the national anthem.....then u do 30 backflips ....then u go to Wanderhome server.....go on tatooine and run 50 laps around the whole planet..then this part is KEY.....u type..../tip Triumph 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 ok?....on a more serious note....No one knows how to be a jedi..there are MANY theories.........and the other answer is yes u CAN be a jedi.......but the chances can be very slim.....its not like any other proffession where u choose it...i.e marksman...IT chooses YOU .....in the form of an FS..which is a new character slot awarded to u for the sole purpose of jedi trainin......hope that helps.....i was serious about the /tip triumph 1000000 part..=] =] =]
