In the interest of helping people with this quest I'm going to go ahead and offer my route from the closest base to the village. This is a series of 10 waypoints and it is designed to offer players doing this quest the flatest route possible. There are no mountains to climb and thus no slowing down at all. This path is completely walkable at full walking speed and has worked for myself and many other people.

Please type in the following 10 waypoints and label them accordingly.

1: 5939, 122, -2007

2: 5706, 125, -2527

3: 5687, 62, -2622

4: 5642, 22, -2677

5: 5727, 30, -2938

6: 5741, 26, -3115

7: 5679, 36, -3347

8 : 5605, 26, -3435

9: 5551, 71, -3534

10: 5528, 100, -3595

Now, I'll try to describe the path as much as possible. Waypoint #1 is the door to the closest base to the Village. You really don't have to keep this waypoint since #2 is where you need to get serious. Once you get the Commander move out and get yourself to waypoint 2 as quickly as possible.

When approaching waypoint #2 you'll notice right away the terrain is starting to slope downwards. This is a narrow crevice that leads down to the forest floor. Waypoint #3 is at the very top of the downward slope ending at waypoint #4 which is the bottom and beginning of the trees.

When traveling from waypoint #4 to waypoint #5 BE VERY CAREFUL! This is forest terrain and there are many trees and logs which the Commander can and will get stuck on. If the Commander gets stuck on the terrain there is a very good chance he will "warp" or "teleport" all the way back to the base. (If this happens and you have not reached waypoint #5 yet you DO have time to pull your bike/mount and rush back to the base to recapture him and then start over. This has happened to me on two seperate occassions and we were able to complete the mission in time still).

Ok, when you reach waypoint #5 you'll notice (in your Radar) that there is another crevice but this one snakes around a bit. Yes, this crevice does snake around and there will be a point where you are actually walking away from the village. DO NOT BE WORRIED! Just stick to the crevice bottom and avoid any trees that might be along the path and above all keep following this snaking crevice around to waypoint #6, which is at the center point of this crevice, then keep traveling around the winding path until you reach waypoint #7 which is the end of this particular crevice.

At waypoint #7 you will once again be in the forest. Again, BE VERY CAREFUL where you walk because this terrain can cause problems with the Commander. Pick your way to waypoint #8.

When you approach waypoint #8 you will notice (in your radar) that it's one large crevice with several small crevices leading upwards. You'll see waypoint #9 is marking the far right crevice. Walk your way up toward the crevice where waypoint #9 is and it's a smooth upward slope toward waypoint #10.

Right at you reach waypoint #10 (or possibly before) you will squeel in pure joy as the misty mists that enclose the Village will be present. And sure enough that tell-tale music will play indicating you just entered the village mist. You are home free, walk to the village and enjoy your new unlocked tree

******************

Test this path out for yourself before doing the mission. You may want to keep your overlay map up and zoomed all the way out so you can see the waypoints. Also, pay attention to your radar to both notice the terrain changes as well as pick up on any red/aggro in your path or approaching from behind.

Ideally, do this during the day since you will be able to see the terrain easier. Also, have a full group to deal with both the Sith that attack during your walk to the village and to clear away any spawned NPCs/Creatures.

Thanks Jispo, that WP path helped out a LOT. We had it pretty easy on the walk back except we missed one of the downslopes because it was pitch black and had to go down a hill. Got a little hair-raising right then but we made it. Thanks bro.

Bumpy for Jispo.

Grats Sheeana!

I wanted to also mention one thing that hadn't been mentioned. The Commander will stop following on his own after a short time. I don't know what that time is as it seemed pretty random. But even walking my flat route posted above, the Commander would every-so-often just turn around and start walking away. This forced the person leading the Commander to constantly keep ordering the Commander (via the radial menu) to continue following.

So, remember people, either use the radial menu to order the Commander to follow you every 5 minutes or pay attention to him very closely because he does stop following on his own.

The way we've done it, just as Sheeana mentioned, was to have a player or pet follow the commander. The Commander himself doesn't show up on your Radar so having a pet follow him will alert you to him moving away the moment he does in case one of the players in your group either hasn't realized it or hasn't reported it yet.

IOTA base on Ahazi at 3456, -1258 has only 1 majorravine and a few minor mtns to navigate through/around.

You may want to check this location on your server to determine if a base exists there and give it a try. I think me and my partner walked the commander back in about 45-50 mins with me periodicallyscouting aheadand defending the sith attackers.

As for the infamous death turrets. It seems that if you get within about100m meters of them they start firing on you. I was hit in the beiginninga couple of times,soIretreated100mor moreand outside of their LOS and they stopped firing. My partner also used that same tactic to take out each of the front 2 turrets, 1 at a time. He'd get within rifle range, attack as long as possible healing himself with stimD's and ruby then retreat to safe ground where he'd rest/heal upthen go back in until both were destroyed.

cool tips.
problem though is that after just recent phase shift there r tons of people doing these quests. A lot of camps are looted and I think it takes an hour or so to respawn. Of course the most popular camps are the closest ones.
so if u decide to take one further away you are in trouble again with the timer (if it is not already looted, lol).

which brings me to a question: if a camp is 6k away from village, and *running* speed is 100m/min circa = do the math, you can not walk this in one hour, not taking rough terrain or attacking beasts into account.

You don't have to believe that. I am not the Twi'lek you are looking for. Move along.

They waypoint route is bang on. Thank you so very much for taking the time to post that information!

On Radiant, the waypoint instructions apply to the "pi" base.

Manged to put three people through this morning right after server reset.

<edit>

Somone asked how to tell which base is which. There are MSE droids around every base with names like "'pi' surveillance droid."

I tried those above 10 waypoints. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but going to waypoint #6...it gets really dark and its very tricky. The commander would not follow me past one point, he kept walkign up the hill and stopping.

He then died on me.

Am I doing something wrong?
