You don't have to be a jedi, you just have to get it, then you can drop it.

You can run 2 accounts on one pc by changing settings. He is wondering though if you can run 2 off of ur Jedi character, and the newly made alt, and im pretty sure that's a definite no answer. If you have seperate accounts you can, (different Login names) but if you are using the same login you will be currently in use under that user name.

ah ... not so bad then. I was wondering whether it was possible to do that, but I read elsewhere that people had tried dropping padawan and it wouldn't work.
If you can drop jedi its not so bad.

you can drop jedi once you get the character slot? that's lame... oh well...
nd it is possible to run both the main and the jedi at the same time if you make the corect changes, can't remember how it's done tho... and your comp needs to be able to run the game twice at the same time... so a lot of power required...

I have heard of people running two characters on one account, but what happens is one of them will automatically disconnect after 30 minutes no matter if you are swithching back and forth between the two....so yes you can run two characters on the same account but for a limited time.....this is what a few different people have told me though....i haven't tried it myself.......also, they were using two different characters on different servers (not the same server)....but who knows....best way to find out is to try it yourself.

I agree Grimbear. Seems utterly stupid that you're only allowed one char per server.
I always play multiple chars on all MUDs I play, so why have SOE decided not to do it here. *shrug*
I REALLY want to make a ranger/CH too. Going to another server is not really an option. I mean, you'd have to learn the whole galaxy and the people in it again. And then it'd be damn confusing when you switch between the two.
I hope they don't implement a similar system with EQ2. Already have 4 characters I'm planning on making there.

last one... if you do FS quests to become a jedi... then god damn it you wanna be a jedi... no one goes through such a gind if they don't want the jedi... a second account is a much easier way then... it's lame that one can just drop jedi once one has fought to get by doing a lot of stuff to turn jedi... it's not like darth vader would say "Now, i'm a jedi, i'll drop that and become an artisan"... it's lame dude.... totally...

Its only a grind if you want everything right away. If you play your regular non-jedi character like you always have and stop by the village once in a while whenever you have maxxed out your xp, its not a grind at all. It might take several months, even a year, and that's the way it should be. The FS-system (and jedi system) are deliberately designed to fustrate power grinders. If you take your time you will have a blast.

As far as I understand the system (correct me if I'm wrong) once youcomplete your six branches, defeat Mellichae, and complete the padawan trials, you become a jedi initiate and get the second character slot. You can then completly ignore your jedi powers and play your character as normal if you want. The penalty is that you cannot unlearn your force-sensitive branches. So the character that you have unlocked jedi with will have 24 (or more if you decide tocomplete more than 6 FS branches) skill points that are allocated for all time.
You can also mix and match jedi skill boxes with your regular skill boxes if there is a particular jedi ability that you would like to have. It all comes out of the same skill point pool. I don't know if the basic jedi initiate/novice jedi box uses up skill points, it probably does.
I am working the force sensitive branches mostly for something to do and to get a second character slot.I have no desire whatsoever to be a jedi.I would eventually like to try all the professions with my main (FS) character so I am choosing force-sensitive branches that are more generic and apply to many profession types (vehicle control, luck, persuasion ... etc).
So in summary, yes you can get your second character slot and not "be" a jedi, but it will cost your main character some skill points to do so.

I thought that was how it worked too, but alot of people that have unlocked their second slots have said that they cannot drop Padawan. Not sure if its a bug or by design, but I thought you were supposed to be able to have (eventually) 2 jedi characters, 1 of each, or 2 non-jedi with your 2 slots after its unlocked. As I believe it is now (far from unlocking myself) you have 2 jedi, and one of each, but your main will not be able to revert to a non-jedi after unlocking the 2nd slot.
I'd love some official confirmation on this issue. I do not want to have a Jedi character, so if it turns out getting my second slot is at the price of making my main a jedi permenantly that'll be the end of FS Quests for me. Happy hunting everyone

Hi! Sorry if this has been asked before, but every time I ran a search, there were too many searches in progress.
If I have an unlocked second toon on one account, can I delete one of the characters and recreate a new one? I'm tired of playing my MonCal and want to make an Ithorian, but the MonCall is the Force Sensitive one that unlocked the account.
