From what I understand and I think i'm 100% about this if you delete the character that is FS (that gave you the second character) you will loose both. You have to keep the character that gave you the bonus character.
But you can delete the bonus character and recreate that one.

A follow-up question to TranSabal's - when your second char slot opens, are there any restrictions on what that character is or do you get to go through the whole character creation process - race, gender, appearance, basic skills, etc?

If you delete the Mon Cal you lose it all. The second char can be anything you want - new character creation.

My second character is almost a Jedi Knight... definitely don't want to delete him. But the MonCal has gotten boring as of late... wanted to try something new. But, if I delete teh MonCal "main" character, I lose the Jedi?

If you delete the character that unlocked the second character (your original character), you will lose everything, plain and simple.

so once i get second char slot, and do the FS thing again it will automatically start jedi if i dont progress anymore with the other?

TH stated that you can take both characters Jedi if you wish but that would be one hellofa grind.

when you unlock the second char slot by completing the padawan trials, a character you create in that second slot will not be force sensitive. so you would have to go through the glowing/village-unlock-grind/trials again.

Let me try to spell it out
1 - Character 1 is the controlling character. Delete him and the second character SLOT is gone, taking the character with him (so yes Jedi=no more)
2 - Toon 1 can stop after becoming Padawan. It is at Padawan (under new system) that the second slot opens. This is a NEW slot, you create a toon from scratch, so choose race/stats etc.
3 - Toon 2 can go through the entire grind as well if so desired. Toon 2 is NOT FS by default. Toon 1 is the FS slot, unless you grind Toon 2.
4 - Both Toons can become Jedi. They are independent of each other, bar the fact that delete toon 1 and toon 2 goes too.

Since I'm close to getting my Jedi, I'm wondering somethign about the second character slot. I know you can't have 8 characters already correct?
And if you delete your second character could you still create another one to replace him, assuming you don't delete your jedi.
