Now it has been 96hrs since I logged in and checked and still no old man. I have been doing all of the little tricks that are supposed to help speed it along. My question is am I just extremely unlucky or am I bugged somehow due to the fact that I reactivated my account? I didn't think that reactivating it would do anything quirky. It would simply seem to the system that I had not logged in for two months. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated. I just wanted to ask on here before I submitted a bug report. Thanks!
There is someone in my guild in a similar boat... my advice is to just keep trying, wander about the wilderness, kill anything you come across, randomly log for 15mins at a tme. Shuttle between player cities, as it seems that 'wilderness' includes anything 1k outside an npc city, since people have had old man visits in front of player city halls. All of this kind of behaviour forces the server to check your status, and each check means that the server will possibly spawn the old man for you.
What it might be is that you hit several holo profs, and you glow because of your holo profs, not your badges... not sure on that, do you have all of the required badges? If not, start getting them, as you might have fallen into the 'group' catergories for people who did the hologrind, and therefor be delayed for some time. Check TH's post history for posts on Publish 10's release day, he gave out some info on this.
Check your badges, make sure that you have the required ones... if you don't have them, you aren't in the 72hr visit catergory. If you do, keep trying, I would give it a week before I submitted a CSR report.

are you POSITIVE that we can take our time to grind up the boxes?
and also, i need to know about what type of missions whip gives. he says that he needs help finding villiageers, but i wont be able to per form them till phase 3. just need to know if theres anything in particular i should pick up to help it, like ranger or something.
Yes, I'm pretty sure that you can grind after the relevant Phase has gone by. If you can't, it would suck, the xp demands are too high for the casual gamer.
I have no idea who gives what mission, yet. This is something I want to work on, maybe today, I've found little to no info on this to date. If I find something, the guide will be updated.

1) What would be the quickiest way to get to initiate so i can start getting to do actual jedi stuff ( IE weild a saber and such ) i just wanna get a jedi as quic kas possible hehe wanna weild a light saber more than anything.......just wish anyone could like equip it and turn it on i love light sabers![]()
The quickest way possible is to get master commando, and a ton of Photon grenades. Do either combat or reflex quests (gated, so it will take 15-18 weeks). Now, if you fight with grenades, and nothing but grenades, taking out lairs, you get PURE COMBAT XP, which converts at a ratio of 3:1, so 260k combat xp would be approx 80k FS xp, but would take about 30minutes to get on somewhere like Endor or Dathomire, grenading lairs and the mobs they spawn.
EVERYONE SHOULD READ THE ABOVE.
2) am i correct in saying since i have no free unlocks and will ahve to grind all my xp and all 6 branches.....its going to take roughly 15 - 18 weeks......and if its gonna tkae that much around how much FS xp will that equal and how much regular XP does that equal
Approx 110million normal combat xp, but with the master commando and grenade route above, considerably less. 20million maybe.
3) Are the "Phase skills" you mentioned the only skills a jedi get? or like when you get your new character slot do jedis get there own skills thos skills are just to get jedi..
These are base skills. Just like Pistoleer requires a branch in Marksman, or Ranger requires four branches and master in Scout. Jedi requires six branches in Force sensitive skills. Jedi = Elite Prof, Force Sensitive = Base skills.
4) if i die while doing the initiate trial......where i have to go kill that ub3r jedi or sith whatever if i die do i have to wait a long time or can i do it right away again
No idea, I suspect that either you go again or the Old Man gives you the quest again.
Thank you for being patient with me im sure most of these questions have been answered and i mgreatly sorry for asking such noob questions hehe please find it in your heart not ot flame me much![]()
Flames are for fools, questions for the learned.

well just going by the list it will be phase 10 before I get the branches I want to use in to proceed to jedi so that will be March 8th. I'm not happy with this but hey SOE controls it. But my question is this if anyone can answer I did the combat tree for phase 1 Ranged accuracy. If I choose not to put anything into this box and just stack the XP for phase2,will there be any penalty?
Not that I am aware of, if there is, I'll update the guide, but I don't see why there should be. We'll find out when Phase 2 starts in a couple of weeks time.
On the issue of skills, why be so picky? The melee speed, accuracy and defence, and ranged defense, are all seperate Phases, and really the only ones that matter. After that you're really just finding something to get you to Initiate faster, so bugger looking for something nice, the rest seem a waste, none are particularly attractive.
There are solutions on the board elsewhere, I'll dig out the bug thread I wanted to start and get that rolling again asap, as it was going to try to contain answers too.

Just got a visit from two Sith attackers(on Corellia)and looted the datapad and the ore. I activitated the
looted datapad and it gave me a waypoint to investigate. When i got to the waypoint...there was
nothing....no additional clues were found. Is this a bugg or am I doing something wrong?
The Phase length has been posted in this thread several times, and in the FAQ, read the sticky threads

Do these only work with saber in hand? Lets say I had a pistol or rifle in hand. Would I get +12 ranged acc and speed? Would I still have +20 range and melee defense if I were to use a VK or rifle or pistol?
