master pistoleer/TKM, it took me about 100 c12 grenades on a savage quenker lair to destoy it. the grenade grind is to costly for me, and too time consumeing. perhaps im doin something wrong. i understand the theory..but i cant see how nades r any faster than simply doin combat missions on dath for gian baz nitches.

Make sure that savage quenkers dont have any blast resists (in fact blast effectiveness is even better to aim for) and also make sure that you are using grenades with over 800 damage.

Sure you can but more you "finish them off like normal" - more of your Wepons XP you will get instead of Combat (which converts at 3:1 instead of 30:1 - so devide normal weapons XP by 10 when doing calculations). Depending on your skills (if Master of an Advanced conmbat proff), your one-two hits will do more damage to mob than 5-6 granades. So test and think about the time it all takes as well as money (for nades), etc. Like I said I toss nades (6 stacks) than finish off with Unarmed area attack (Spin attack 2). I endup capping Combat 300K and about 300K Unarmed in 1.5 - 2 hrs. Could be done a lot faster if I try hard. Concept tho stays the same - only difference is all the way nades or combo for speed...

Master Commando is the best for this. Using proton grenades on Dantooine, killing Quenkers, and in a solo group you can max you combat xp in 6-7 missions, about 1 hr. Also if you use a weapon that your not a master of or uncertfied you'll get more xp.

use C22 if your a Novice commando, and hunt quenkers in a group. At level 99 missions you get about 15 quenkers/ lair @3636 combat xp each.

I assume that you mean C-22 grenades, and you can get them from any Master Weaponsmith (you only need master WS for better quality).

To be able to get any use of my C12 I hunt Gaping Spiders. They give me 55-60k per lair, require 10-13 grenades for a whole lair and takes less than 15 minutes to kill. This means that I get 110k combat xp per crate I use up and can just about cap twice per buff (usually use up 5 crates of c12 during a buff session for 550k combat xp).

QUestion. How exactly do you get that with 10-13 grenades? I used 10 on quenkers and only racked up MAYBE 8k combat. I just want to know what you exactly do once you get to the lair and only use 10-13 c12's and racking up that xp because I want to do that. Also which price missions are Gaping Spiders? Thanks for the help

Quenkers do not only give poor xp, they are blast resistant as well.

10-13 pupped grenades when in a sologroup never given me less than 50k when I do a Gaping Spider mission.

Payout is 6800c in Science Outpost.

Gaping Spiders are 6900 credits on Dath. With all the mobs you run up to the lair, hit it strong couple of times (to get the second wave out - even tho only five will be on you - taking damage) - you kill the babies (waste of nades - no XP). All this time you're standing in the middle of lair (so they are all arround you) - you make sure the lair is targeted (at the bottom of the combat queue) - than start throwing nades - AT THE LAIR (while the lair is targeted). Not at the individual hurton or spider!

Let me just make sure i understand. So I get a Gaping Spider mission. Go straight to the lair (keeping the original spawn still alive) then kill babies first then just use 10-13 nades on the lair right? What if the lair and spiders aren't dead after? Just finish them off like normal?

* Powerup ALL grenades first so they do more than 1000 damage. Place them in quickslots.

* Start hitting at the lair for awhile. This teases the spiders to gather around you. Make sure you are surrounded by 5-6 spiders.

* Start throwing grenades.

* Always make sure you aim for the lair. Read the bottom of your combat queue and make sure that the bottom reads "Gaping Spider Lair" nothing else.

* The first wave of spiders should be 6-8. Burst them up with the first 8-9 grenades (all spiders should be dead with just 8-9 grenades really... they are very sensitive to grenades)

* If there are less than 3 spiders left that have like 5% health you can as well kill them off with normal attacks.

* Now start hitting on the lair. When it explodes (20% health left) new spiders should have appeared. Start to hit with a lesser damaging attack and try to tease the spider into healing the lair. Once they start to heal go up to a higher damaging attack again. Now continue to attack the lair until 4-6 new spiders have spawned.

*Use the remaining grenades on them.

* Pick the last two lairs (5-6) to the East.

As long as you keep doing this, you will have about 275k Combat XP after 5 lairs.

Its up to you if you want to sacrifice time in getting the remaining 25k or if you want to go and exchange first. Since we speak about Dathomir here, Aurilia is not far away. I feel that it's best to not waste time on getting the final 25k since it's better to exchange so you can get a full 55-60k for the lair instead.

*WARNING* With Publish 11 spiders now do far more damage with bleeding and poison. This is likely a C12 nerf. *WARNING*

You are probably not aiming at the lair. If you aim directly at the quenker you can miss, which is a waste of grenades.

Also, Savage Quenkers have 15% blast resistance. Save them for Commando's. Try doing monsters with less Blast Resistance instead.

Just my opinion on this...

This thread is for us that like to earn FS XP even if we do not wish to change our professions to something else.

And why Quenkers when you can do Baz Nitch in Dathomir. They are the same monster, only much closer to Aurilia. Grab a sologroup+buff in MO then go to SO.

Finally, the weapon-that-you-are-not-certified-for tactic do not work. No matter what I do I get 4598 combat xp per spider. Rock-solid. Also, if I do not have a pistol in hand I loose all my defenses.

I do the grenade trick once in a while but I don't grind completely with grenades... the gaping spiders suck because they intimidate, too.

I maxed out on combat xp on Endor in 2 hours last night just offing everything I came across... Endor webmasters and mereks are GREAT xp and their lairs are seemingly neverending spawns.

Not to mention when you destroy the lair, a couple of boss mobs pop out... great fun.

"There were young knights among them who had never been present at a stricken field. Some could not look upon it, some could not speak. They held themselves apart from the others who were cutting down prisoners at my lord's orders, for the prisoners were a body too numerous to be guarded by those of us who were left.
Then Jean de Rrye, an aged knight of Burgundy who had been sore wounded in the fight, rode up to the group of young knights and said: "are ye maidens with your downcast eyes? Look well upon it. See all of it. Close your eyes to nothing. For the battle is fought to be won, and this is what happens if you lose."
