I do the grenade trick once in a while but I don't grind completely with grenades... the gaping spiders suck because they intimidate, too.
I maxed out on combat xp on Endor in 2 hours last night just offing everything I came across... Endor webmasters and mereks are GREAT xp and their lairs are seemingly neverending spawns.
Not to mention when you destroy the lair, a couple of boss mobs pop out... great fun.
Gaping Spiders occasionally intimidate. Yet everyone I know manages to pull out 50-60k per lair and finish almost two full caps in a single buff session. The intimidate do not occur too often, and it timeouts quickly.
An Arachne Webmaster haveArmor: Light. Since C12 is Armor Piercing: None, all damage a C12 do to an Arachne Webmaster is reduced -50%, like a permanent Intimidate. Craggy Bolma have the same problem, same withmost types of Merek. No wonder it takes you 2 hours to cap, and you must use up a major load of C12 as well.

You are intimidated the whole time (like I am) because I'm guessing - you're TKA/TKM... He is not because hes Master of some Ranged (guessing Rifleman) profession. Has to do with our defences... Am I right?
For me (as TKM) really is a tossup between Gaping spiders and Hurton Stalkers. I do both to break the routine. Spiders are no resistance to Blast but they intimidate me and slow me down therefore, as well as less XP (4100+410) in full Solo group and Stalkers are 5100+510 Combat XP, they are less dangerous (I macro tossing 6 stacks of 5 nades = 30 nades - once that gets going hard to stop to heal yourself if you need to hehe)...
MO is easier for ent buffs and solo groups, and SO is where the Village is... So I normally do half XP cap on Dant and half on Dath - in time to have ent buffs to fight my way to Paemos
Luckily with JTL hoping from Dant to Dath takes a whoping 10 seconds
Also to unwser quick the question about blast armor - you need the amrmor to survive tossing nades that kill slowly and constantly being attacked by 10+ mobs - for Gaping spinders and Hurton Stalker thats kinetick prots... Nades don't do damage to you (I think) but they will damage you armor... I wear composite - spiders chew trough kinetic ubese like its thin air!
Repair composite and buy new - what can you do. This sport is not cheap.

I'm actually doc/master rifle with a smidge of scout. I don't bother with mind buffs unless I'm going to be grinding a lot with the rifle, as it takes no mind to toss grenades
I just hit the brandy and ahrisa.

I was intimidated the whole time I was attacking the gaping spider lairs... I don't know what gaping spiders YOU'RE fighting but I gave up on them. It's easier to cap on Dant and fly to Dath then to waste the extra C12s on gaping spiders because you're intimidated and losing damage from that.
Next, TWO combat XP caps in a single buff session? With C12s? I don't believe you.
I am a Master Pistoleer / Bounty Hunter 0040. I have some BE clothes that boosts my defenses, besides that my defenses are basic ranged-fighter defenses. I have 0 protection vs intimidate, and occassionally I get intimidated as well.
I have friends that uses the very same tactic with Teras Kasi Master (not stacked). They get intimidated as well. One of them is a doctor.
Read my lips:
Under 550k Combat XP in a single buff is bad luck. I have done this through 3 branches of FS XP, never going below 575k per buff session.
My friends do the same. Intimidation happens, but never mess up our chances to get this amount of xp in one buff.
I have had much better luck with C12s on Dantooine with Huurtons... huntresses/etc.
Yeah, no wonder you cant cap twice in a single buff session. Please continue, just please stop blaming me for it.I guess you do not care about the 20%, but to me it feels a terrible waste. C12 grenades are not cheap.
Huurton Stalkers is probably the most overrated animal in SWG... For example, did you knew that Blood-Stained Merek's on Endor have the same amount of HAM, but vulnerable against kinetic? Thats right, every melee profession tear them down like butter, and they are difficulty 32, just one less than Huurton Stalkers (meaning the same amount of xp), and they can be taken from mission terminals. Yet people insist on taking on Huurton Stalkers. Huurton Stalkers are for Acid and for Stun. Stop loving them so much.
Anyone can go to MO to get their buff and solo-group. Then they can jump to much better planet to grind on. That's what I always do.

My goodness but you're cranky. Please, don't take everything in life as a personal attack, you'll get ulcers.
I'm fully aware of how resistances work. I've spent more than a couple of hours out hunting. Thanks for the patronization, though.
One star for you!

I am not here to boast over how great I am.
I am here to share my insights and to help others.
Optimization is my interest. Improving strategies is what I do all day long.
When I find a really effective strategy I share it with others.
The only thing that I expect in return is that someone might add insight to my strategy and thereby optimizing it even further.

Becouse ofthis, I get rather offended by comments like the one above.

I have used Imp Detonators, and I have capped combat xp as much as 3 times in a buff session. Normally, Icap 2-2.5 times per buff session in combat xp....wish I had started that much, much earlier...

This really belongs to the front page - this is how I did it and finished last night! Should be sticky on top.

I have tried a few other templates now, and getting Intimidated all of a sudden. I wonder if it is becouse of the fact that I HAVE Defense VS Intimidate now.
It might be a bug that makes the game not register Intimidate at allif you do not have the skill. Neat bug in that case.
While I got the +INTIMIDATE+ sign above my head before, the white blood-drops did not appear next to my HAM. Now I do get that symbol all of a sudden.
