These threads have been extremely helpful. I kow that this mission has bugs---so you just have to figure a way around them. I did this mission 1st try at the 3rd closest base on Ahazi--Psi. I was grouped with one of my guildmates. First, we took out the sentry droid which seemed to reduce the frequency and range of the turrets. Then we each sent in lvl 30 Probot droids to take out the 2 turrets. I ran up and hit the remote and immediately the sith thugs appeared. Unfortunately, 4 nightsisters became mixed in the bunch which made it difficult. I am a master CM/Pistols with a smattering of Carbs so It took awhile to kill my 5 while healing. My partner was TKM/MCarbs. Luckily the nightsisters don't do bad damage (Just high HAM)--the sith were a piece of cake.

Very Important---I am not sure why or how some people do not have to kill 5 thugs as has been previously reported. I had a countdown come on my screen which told me how many I had to kill. The remote guy has to be the one to kill the 5 sith! My partner was in the commander tent waiting for the commander to spawn. As soon as my 5th thug was dispatched, the commander appeared for him. Since (NO LIE!) I had 20+ thugs and nightsisters on me, I hit Bacta Spray (to make them all agro on me) and took off the opposite direction. My partner walked out of the camp unseen and untouched. After I had burst run past all these I circled around and caught up w/ my partner. He constantly stayed 70-100m ahead of the commander at all times. We just weaved through agro (2 times we couldn't and I had to fight NS once and 1 rancor---and the spawning sith). Commander turned twice, but we re-acquired him.

We were nervous walking him back because of the poison tales and the commander leaving. However, it was no problem really. If the guy escorting the commander stays 70+ meters ahead the spawning sith won't get him. That left me to kill them at my leisure while making sure the commander did not turn around. When we got close to the base and through the fog, it seemed like the sith attacks picked up a bit, but we just walked in the base and a success message appeared on both of our screens.

When I did this mission the commander didnt run away from me i had no problem getting in or killing the turrets, its just that the base was too far away from the village i got 3k m away fro the base when the commander died and i was still 5k m away from the village. It's very frustrating.

Might as well post my sob story. I decided I would try this solo this morning seeing how nobody could be found in the Village. Myself, aMaster Doc, Master Swords along with my CL30 R2 more or less easily finished the base off. The R2 took out the turrets easily while I took out the five Sith. Both the droid and I easily then took out the third turret and the last gate. Then it's a matter of waiting a few seconds for the sith to despawn and presto! HOWEVER, along the way, my commander decides to just fall over and die, no more than 10 minutes into the walk. I decided to play it a bit safe seeing how I was alone, and thought I was more or less home free until this happened. I guess it's back to finding more remotes!

This may help for those having problems with the commandder not following or running away. 3 other groups have tried this now and have completed the quest.

For the turrets, take them out with droids. They cannot be attacked by the turrets.

If only I had known on my first attempt...

The quest is definetely frustrating, failed so far first 3 times at closest base to village with me MBH/MR and alt Mdoc

first try lost due to server going down, second try comm dies of poison and third comm not even at the base.

Turrets are no prob with healer and mobs not that big a deal, it's the poison timer. I agree take off the timer so we can use any base for escort.

This mission is the worst thing in the entire game. The first time I spend forever getting the stupid commander to go 1500m then he dies on me. It is just plan stupid that the guy can not walk up a hill. First time I had 3 Jedi clearing the path for me. The second time a lair of level 85 NSspawn right under me and quickly kill me. This time I had one Jedi and a TKM. No one wants to help with this mission either because it is so painful.

Try mapping out the trip from the sith base to the village with nav points so you dont have to climb any mountains . Theres tons of valleys that will lead you right there . Worked for me i didnt have to climb any .
