Can non-jedi tell the difference between colour and power crystals?

My understanding is that unused crystals will become color crystals (or something like that), but any crystals that were used to craft a LS will be turned into pearls... and all LS's will need to be deconstructed after the patch.

at what point can you look at a crystal and know its stats? is it after you can craft light sabers, or further up the tree?

You can see the quality of the crystals once you get the Jedi Initiate Title. You can also tune the color crystals at this point, which you need to do to craft your training saber. You cannot tune the power crystals until you get the Padawan title however, as you need force to do so.

Ok, my goal is to become a Jedi, though I hate the PVP aspect I will deal with it, my question is where do the crystals drop, before someone tells me do a search, I tried. It responded to many searches in progress, then 10 minutes later could not get it to come up still.

Please keep in mind that I am still new to game so not really familiar with the mobs yet. So far from previous posts I see that they drop from the following mobs but all I have ever seen is occasional wandering mobs of them, trying to find if there are any solo able camp spots to grind exp and try to obtain crystals so I dont have to spend 1.5 mil (that I dont have yet) on one.

Tuskens fort (know where to go here but never been there, is it soloable)

I currently am a TK master and have capped unarmed and combat exp, working on building up another skill set like smuggler till I get old man to visit. Is there a set location for many of these mobs to be found other than the tuskens, can a TK master solo them or should I pick up swordsman or finish up smuggler or something like that, and lastly do you know of any other mobs that can drop the crystals?

Pubam's aren't on the list, but they drop color crystals. They used to have a really good drop rate too. I looted 3 color crystals in about 10 minutes before

The Jinda cave has been good to me when i've seen it actually spawned up. Got 2 color crystals in about a minute. I had a group of 6 or so on me, took them out with Dervish1 and looted the crystals.

I haven't had good luck getting damage crystals, but my friends have been pretty lucky with Kunga/Janta missions. The crystals they drop are usually Fair quality though. However, I've had fair crystals tune better than my quality crystals. Tuning is random, so I personally would rather do Kunga/Janta/Mokk missions instead of Nightsisters and pray for a better tuning on a lower quality crystal.

Final note, just in case you didn't know, lightsabers only require a color crystal to work. The damage crystals are optional.

i looted the same ammount of nighsister initates in 10 mins. they pretty easy to put down and there force powers aint to clever

ended up going to fort tusken tonight, 2 hours there walked away with 4 crystals, 2 yellow 7-800 condition, a green 940 condition and a red 1212 condition, thought it would be tough but doesnt seem to be
