TEMPEST switched...
I took melee speed last Phase IV, and he let me do Ranged....so maybe its just if you do ranged first....

I feel, and I'm sure most the rest of you do as well, that this qualifies as a mandatory unlock for any in this thread by SOE.
This item should have been tested before live, well before live. Likely this has been reported on TC already and been ignored.
I am NOT going to wait past three more phases for this to be fixed, if this is not fixed by the end of phase4 I will be canceling four accounts and would advise the rest of you to do so as well. This bug's existance is proof of a directive competency issue at SOE in the DEV staff, they should quite well have known that this would occur with their history and the way NPC behave.
All those in vote of a free ER unlock for this say "EYE"

I got Ranged spped last phase 4.
I cant get the mission either.

Yeah I'm bugged too. RangedSpeed first phase 4............bugged for Melee Def. this time around.

Bugged, on Ahazi.
I completed "Ranged Speed" during the last phase 4, and I am unable to take the "Melee Defense" quest this phase.

Still no word on gettting this fixed I suggest we each send a complaint to all the areas of this game from CSR tickets to Bug reports to outside the game like Customer Service and Online support (Technical) and so on so as to let everyone in the company know how much we are upset... And please make your point professional not just a pointless flame..

I have send a ticket, and csr will meet me online to check out my character.
Send tickets they need the info.
