LOL probably the only thing that can beat a Fencer would be a Master Fencer, TKM combo.



Pre-Cu veteran returning to the game he loves. SWG I thought NGE was a disaster but I think you might have something going for you. Give it time to develop.

The stackers you face suck. Properly stacked TKM's will be immune to dizzy.

Lets cut right through the crap. PvP is all mind. A pure fencer vs a pure TKM the TKM wins hands down. I have a TKM and a Master Fencer with weapons of similar stats. TKM hit harder, they have the I win button with Dizzy Knockdown, they have force of will, they can boost health. They have toughness. There is a reason almost every character in the game is TKA or Swordsman.


Almost every TKM has some medical. I love the feeling when you think you just have someone beat and they heal for 700+. As a fencer you can't heal because you have no mind left or if you do you have sealed you fate. Some TKAs will kill your health so you will heal then they pound the mind for a quick kill.


Fencers need an impressive bleed to make up for the damage they can't dish out.

I was at the Rebel Imperial Battle last night grinding FS xp and a TK rifleman tried to jump me. I was on one brandy and a muon and he had full mind buffs and a couple of brandys, and we were both doc buffed.


I health incapped him, he FOW to 100%, and I health incapped him again.

Ok.



Fencer- While not as strong as a TKM a Fencer has much more defensive mods. Their Dodge is high... Defense vs. kd is like 50 by itself, as is the Posture Change (down), Dizzy.. I think it's like 40-60 somewhere in there (i'm too lazy to open up a new window and look). Their best offensive weapon is a high damage, hard hitting Stun Baton.... but come on... how "regular" are those? Fencers are awesome for fighting multiple people at once.. especially if those people are Armored since the highest Stun protection on armor that I've seen is 40%. And for those people who haven't yet realized that Stun protection is needed in PvP.. then a Fencer really eats them out.


TKM- Strong, Really strong. Toughness that's all you have to say about TKM. Because of their toughness they can literally take an ass whooping. Although with just TKM you're literally vulnerable to every state in the game. The major ones: Def vs Dizzy= 5, Def vs. KD=20, Def vs. Posture Change (down)=30. Whoo Hoo, what TKM's gain in power... they lack in defense. But.. to save them, they can land every state in the game with different hits. Plus they have 2 kd's. No I'm not talking about kd1 and kd2. I'm talking about KD2 and Lunge1/2.



In a straight out fight... with weapons off of the blue frogs on Test Center, no armor, and just TKM and just Fencer, with No Food... I would have to give the edge to the Fencer, begrudgingly, but I'd give it to him. Just because with the way Dodge is, and if he used a Gaderiffi baton he would probably have the TKM on his back in a couple seconds 8-15 I would bet. Maybe even faster.


Now.. You have the same templates compete against each other... or variations of the same template... such as TKM/Master Fencer/Master Brawler/0040Pike, or Master Fencer/Master Brawler/0040Pike/4040Pistoleer (if that even works), and you get someone who has been using TKM for a long time.. or who knows the ins and outs of the profession, and he won't lose as much to a Fencer. It's the ability to do insane amounts of damage coupled with the defensive stats of Fencer/Pike that makes the TKM stronger.


And again.. this is on a Fencer forum so obviously I don't expect anyone to agree. I love both.. but my first master was TKM, and I've always had it. I can honestly say that once I figured out that TKM wasn't Dizzy/KD/spam Unarmedhit3 I realized that if I had to tank 3 or 4 people or had to tank tough npc's, had to duel a tough opponent, had to fight Jedi, that TKM was better suited than Fencer. Although as I said in my previous post... before they nerfed Fencer it was pretty much unbeatable.


It's 3 a.m. I'm not even going to re-read this... if there's something you don't agree with.. post it.. if you hate me.. post it... if you want to test out what I just said... Salinger is my name on TC... i'll prove to you that what I speak is true.

I am curious as to how all of the fencers think they can beat a tkm if lets say NO ARMOR is involved and NO DOTS are used. since both sides can have dots and both sides can get 90% rez to stun or kinetic.


Assume master brawler IS NOT IN THIS. fencers that means you don't have knock down, teras kasi still has kd and posture change down.. I say this because it is TKM vs M fencer, m brawler isn't in this equation, it would get WAAAY to complex to add all the different templates in there too, lets just keep it simpler.

Ok not a stacker, 2-4-3-3 fencer and master CH, and duel my two TKA friends quite a bit, however, they didwear armour, I didn't. I onw more than I lost, then they took their armour off, to have better re-charge/special drains rather than a useless kenetic suit against a batton. Now its pritty much 50/50. So no armour, no DOTs and its still 50/50, oh btw they are both masters.



So now youask, how is that possible. Well simple really, PvP is extreemly simple, when no armour or buffs are involved, fistt knockdown wins. When they land a KD I'm dead, butI have a more than averagechance of doging,so dizzy1, lunge2 and then they are on the floor, then spam onehandhit3 and its all over.



SO in short NO ARMOUR, NO DOTs, and if you could direct me to a suit of 90% stun, I will be very supprised!.
