Ok what we need is tweaked dmg,dual,ap,and lunge defense up and down i fought a TKM who i told only to use dizzy lunge and he beat me easy because of low lunge defense.

Issue: Master Level Specials


Description: As it stands now Scatter Hit 2 (though bugged) is our most effective special due to the fact that it allows us to strike random HAM pools. When most if not all of the attacks target the Health pool the most damaging attack we have targets random and we have to hope to get their mind. The high end move of a fencer should be a devestating attack to the targets health pool in which symbolizes the accuraccy, speed, and skill used with the chosen weapon.

Fencer, swordman - is there a difference?



I have had an issue with the whole separation of the 2H/1H professions. The best weapon for a fencer is a baton and the best weapon for a swordsman is a hammer. Why didn't they just combine the 2 sword types into one profession and all the blunt force types into another profession? I used to dabble with sparring in blades and the strikes used for a blunt force object is significantly different from the strikes for an edged weapon. Different motions involved there. It would have made sense if the sword wielders dealt exclusively with one handed and 2 handed blades. 2 handed would be slower but more powerful while one handed would be quick and weak but with AP1 or something of that sort. edged weapons vs. blunt weapons I think make sense as better categories but that is hind sight (or lack of vision, your choice)


I am just disappointed with the lack of weapons, strength, and content for Fencers as it is. Rantok is the only questable item we have and that's not even a good sword! It’s a joke to get too. I would love to be able to wield a katana too. If fencer is going to be truly viable in the combat rebalancing, some drastic changes are going to have to happen. Even Pikeman are showing improvement with the Nightsister lances. We have to get a(n impossible to get ) set of Aklay bones that might get confiscated if it's bugged! I wanted to master fencer since I first got in the game, but the lack of content for the profession is forcing me to rethink my template.


I apologize for turning this into a rant but I am about make some hard decisions in the next few days since I have run out of Skill points and I have to give something up to be able to handle my own in an aggro situation.

Fencers should use swords, not sticks -> we need more swords (new scems for crafters, loots and some fencer quests). Also these must be good ones, else noone will use them.

I like the idea of making fencer unique by using 2 weapons at the same time. I guess this is very hard to implement, since new motion captures are needed. :/

I also liked the suggestion if making swords (1 and 2 handed) a single profession, and blunt weapons another.

I'd feel better if we could compete with other fighting classes. There were good suggestions already: AP, higher damages, faster hits, etc, pick some.

A dream: let us use lightsabers (they are 1 handed swords anyway)

I concur with the issue of the lack of DMG types a fencer is able to do. Kinetic and stun isall and in the new DWB they have HIGH resist to both of those so with no other option to go with we do very little dmg in there. As it is I dont bother going since i cant do squat for DMG to most of those mobs. I would like to see a few more SWORD (not sticks) added to our weapons list and those Swords with different DMG types....like Cold, Electric (Vibro Sword...hint ...hint), and Heat. Oh and the Duel Sword idea is nice but I dont consider it a must have like I do the DMG type increases. Thanks for listening.

master fencer wielding lightsaber is an interesting idea, but need serious thought as it raise many concerns :


- why swordmen couldnt us twohanded lightsabers, pikemen twobladed ones ? (they should, IMHO)


- would you get a TEF when getting your saber on ? (yes IMHO)


- there definitely must be some significative damage/accuracy/ham cost advantage for a jedi wielder over a fencer wielder.


- this would answser brillantly (pun intended) the "new damage type" and the "our best weapon should be a sword" claims, and at little or no developpement cost.


- how woulda master fencer get his hand on a ligntsaber ? would it be loot ? quest item ? crafted item (but by whom) ? (Quest IMHO)


- how could we wistand the 250db howling from the jedi of the Grind Side ? (by beheading them, IMHO)

I was thinking about the way the new jedi system is in place. I've not got a jedi character on test or anything =[ but i was wondering if it would be possible to go up the one haded saber tree and master fencer and if you would be able to use the saber/specials together.

just think of this.... if we lose blunt weapons say good bye to stun baton and then swordsman will get head hit 3 with a stun baton? not cool.

Decrease dmg output of stun batons and increase dmg on fencing swords or even the gaffi batons.
