Issue: Master Level Specials
Description: As it stands now Scatter Hit 2 (though bugged) is our most effective special due to the fact that it allows us to strike random HAM pools. When most if not all of the attacks target the Health pool the most damaging attack we have targets random and we have to hope to get their mind. The high end move of a fencer should be a devestating attack to the targets health pool in which symbolizes the accuraccy, speed, and skill used with the chosen weapon.
Fencer, swordman - is there a difference?
I have had an issue with the whole separation of the 2H/1H professions. The best weapon for a fencer is a baton and the best weapon for a swordsman is a hammer. Why didn't they just combine the 2 sword types into one profession and all the blunt force types into another profession? I used to dabble with sparring in blades and the strikes used for a blunt force object is significantly different from the strikes for an edged weapon. Different motions involved there. It would have made sense if the sword wielders dealt exclusively with one handed and 2 handed blades. 2 handed would be slower but more powerful while one handed would be quick and weak but with AP1 or something of that sort. edged weapons vs. blunt weapons I think make sense as better categories but that is hind sight (or lack of vision, your choice)
I am just disappointed with the lack of weapons, strength, and content for Fencers as it is. Rantok is the only questable item we have and that's not even a good sword! It’s a joke to get too. I would love to be able to wield a katana too. If fencer is going to be truly viable in the combat rebalancing, some drastic changes are going to have to happen. Even Pikeman are showing improvement with the Nightsister lances. We have to get a(n impossible to get ) set of Aklay bones that might get confiscated if it's bugged! I wanted to master fencer since I first got in the game, but the lack of content for the profession is forcing me to rethink my template.
I apologize for turning this into a rant but I am about make some hard decisions in the next few days since I have run out of Skill points and I have to give something up to be able to handle my own in an aggro situation.
I like the idea of making fencer unique by using 2 weapons at the same time. I guess this is very hard to implement, since new motion captures are needed. :/
I also liked the suggestion if making swords (1 and 2 handed) a single profession, and blunt weapons another.
I'd feel better if we could compete with other fighting classes. There were good suggestions already: AP, higher damages, faster hits, etc, pick some.
A dream: let us use lightsabers (they are 1 handed swords anyway)
