How about adding a weapon that is a dual wield weapon, but just for graphic purposes so we can look cooler. I mean that would be fine with me. So the fact that its two weapons might have something say its a little heavy on ham costs but it has awesome damage or a little slower (like thatll matter anyways) but still. Just dual wielding swords, want so bad...

you know, thats not a bad idea. If we cant have true dual wielding, slap another sword onto the left hand and give +to block, like a parrying dagger.

I believe our correspondant Chaser has already addressed the issue of dual wielding... buut I will remind everyone that it is not possible for us to LITERALLY hold two weapons (equip two items in the inventory screen as weapons), but it IS possible for us to SEEM like we are holding two weapons (equip one item in the inventory screen which has a picture of two swords). Our avatar in game would also be holding two swords (its just a matter of animating it). It is impossible for us to wear onlyone of the two swords in combination with something else (ex. graffi stick, pistol) because it is realistically just ONE weapon that looks like two, and the game mechanics is designed for us to only wield one weapon.


Now, if any of that made sense at all.. (it was hard to explain.. I tried!) I'd like to point out that to have a Master Fencerdual wield (katana and wakasashi, for example) schematic IS indeed possible, and that we should keep pushing for it .


I have no clue what the weapon's stats should be, however.

The call for any new fencing weapons that are AP2 is ridiculous. Fencers are supposed to be agile, quick, and deadly against unarmored opponents. Leave the AP2 with the heavy swordsman.


As for weapons, there are two basic problems: first, the fencer's best weapon is a stick and one of the ugliest weapons in the game. Second, its also certified in the second skill box in brawler.


Has anyone ever used the sword? Of course not. Its a waste. They need to make all the existing weapons useful and spread the certs throughout the fencer tree.


Also, i think fencer weapons should NOT have large ranges of damage. These are dueling weapons, intended for efficiently killing an opponent, so a tight damage range will offeset melee mitigation. (One way to conceptualize it is a slashing attack may or may not hit deep or hit a vital area, therefore having a large dam range, while a tight deep puncture by a duelist at a vulnerable area will provide a more consistent damage)...


Finally, please, for the love of god, add fencing weapons- a rapier, etee, or even a long sword... anything beside that damnable gaffi stick...

I'd like to see the plain old sword get an upgrade, curved sword or the regular swordshould be the all-around standard fencer weapon. For higher skill levelshow about a craftable version of the Rantok?


A wider variety of weapons, too manyuseless daggers, how about a one handed axe of some sort? (slow,probably ap1, but big damage) A Whip? (Little/no damage, but bonuses to state effects?)


Something for the off-hand, either a Main Gauche (parrying dagger) , or a shield of some sort.


And in the wild dream department.... Stun -Chucks (Nunchuk version of the stun baton).

About Vibro-Weapons not being SW-like

IMO they are very SW-like and not only because Lucas "Invented" them but because its a very viable thing to do with a sword, to make it more efficient.

And, the vibro weapons have been in the SW universe for so long now that several people collect them as prized trophies. With lots of decorations and things like that.

And in my opinion, thats what a Star Wars Fencer would be like.

Not running around with a kitchen knife that makes buzzing sounds.

Surely traditional fencing weapons would be best? Rapier with low dmg/high speed, ap1; Epee with high dmg, med speed, ap2 (cert at master), Colichemarde (sabre/epee hybrid), Gladius (roman sword),even katanas/tanto's etc (from Japanese disciplines)and so on.

  • the higher the weapon damage is, the higher the certification should be on the fencer tree

account cancelled... ironicaly it ended exactly 1 year after it was purchased.july 25th.
pushing back the combat rebalance- and not fixing a core game system is the worst idea soe ever conceived.
- still hoping the dev team will get replaced and the game i once loved will get fixed. fix the core game, and problems.stop nerfing everything thats fun. stop doing things noone in the player community asked for!! listen to your customers damnit!!!

make a vibro sword ap1, moderate HAM costs, min 50-100 max 200-250 3.0 speed. a nice weapon, but not an overpowered "uber" weapon. one that might have a chance at getting made and what is even better is that vibro swords are already a known part of the Star Wars universe, so making them wouldnt be hard to fit in


maybe add it to one hand 4 so that we have a real weapon for that slot
