Thread: Your VOTE for Fencer TOP Fencer Issues (10/4/03)
I only really care about defense. I can concede doing less damage, but I just want to be able to tank. Thus
1. Fix Fencer defense through our modifiers and dodge.
2. More weapons
3. Get rid of the combat stutter! For the love of god this is silly!
4. Iguess lower the speed cap... if that is the only thing that will fix the balance issues.
5. I could go for some actually usefull abilities, instead of some icons that don't really affect anything.
6. Some post Master Content (like more swords) or profession specific quests? These result in an epic something.
1.) Better Ap and more damage types.
2.) Alter the speed cap for fencers. (.5 suggested)
3.) Fix hit-while-running stutter
4.) Give us a method of stopping/slowing fleeing opponents
5.) Restore functionality to our status attacks
6.) Improve Dodge
Currently at 2/3/3/2.
1. Improving our Status attacks
2. Dodging
3. Weapon Speed
4. Mind HAM
5. Combat Start Stutter
6. Damage Types (armor doesn't matter if we attack faster, I'd rather hit a lot than just one good one)
1. Give us a method of stopping/slowing Fleeing opponents.
2. Fix Begin combat stutter
3. Extend 1-handed Weapons range
4. Better selection of viable 1-handed weapons.
5. Give us a /stick command to compensate for Client vs. Server issues

1: Increase the one handed fencing ranges.
Becasue its sad that an unarmed person has a longer ranger, when a fencer should have at least two times that range.
2: Increase Defenses for Fencers
Again its sad that an Unarmed person is tougher then a Fencer.....a Fencer should be able to dodge and do even better then some guy with an empty hand.
3: Increase the Damage we can do.
Again a person with a fist can punch and do more damage to things than a guy with a laser sharpened sword....I think not...I will take on any Martial Artis bare handed with my Fopil at home in real life...I know who will win...I will.
4: Make it so we have more of a way to cath people and things running away.
Right now, they just have to get out side our piddly 4m range and we do the animations and miss...heck we can chase something but never get to them, because we will always be out of range...very sad indeed...
Its not like this in the real worl...I can cap people very nicly in the Live Action SCA games I play.
5: Add More sword types
This is what fencers where like in the old days...many weapons signifying different schools and classes and even familys....
6: I dont have a 6 right now.
Here is my vote. Your doing a great job, keep of the great work. I know it can't be easy.
1. Lower HAM costs
2. Higher melee/ranged defense and/or one-handed toughness
3. Alter the speed cap
